Although Warner Bros. have found much success in recent decades when it comes to animated films based off DC Comics properties, very few of them have gone beyond the direct-to-video market. Maybe it’s because when Batman: Mask of the Phantasm debuted in theatres nearly 20 years ago, it unfortunately didn’t pull in much money despite being a critical darling and one of the best movies to ever feature the Dark Knight. Period.
In the time since, dozens of stellar flicks have materialized, and the mainstream popularity currently being enjoyed by superheroes has certainly helped the cause. In fact, just last year, both Batman: The Killing Joke and Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders were released in theatres as limited engagements. Now, to the surprise of not very many, Batman and Harley Quinn is following suit.
Seeing as how this is WB Animation’s first 2017 offering to get this treatment, it quickly becomes apparent that they’re going with whichever ones they believe will be the biggest moneymakers. Sure, both Justice League Dark and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract included either the World’s Greatest Detective himself or related characters, but anything featuring him as the headliner – let alone sharing the bill with the white hot Harley Quinn – is going to take top priority.
As it turns out, Batman and Harley Quinn will arrive in theatres on Monday, August 14 for yet another “one night only” engagement, which happens to be the very day before its home video release. Tickets go on sale on June 30, so be sure to follow the source link to Fathom Events, and to keep watch as to which cinemas near you will be taking part.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is the latest installment in the lives of the superhero group that connects to much of the DC Universe and has hit screens in a variety of ways. The darker realm of the Titans continues with newcomer Terra (Christina Ricci) and a menacing threat unlike anything the Titans have faced before.
The film opens with a trip back in time to when members of the Teen Titans met Starfire (Kari Wahlgren), then quickly jumps us to the present with Starfire and Nightwing (Sean Maher) running the show, and in a relationship that makes the brooding crew uncomfortable.
The gang is still adjusting to Terra, and Nightwing is still adjusting to returning, but they don’t have time to hang around in the giant T building because there’s a new villain out there, Brother Blood (Gregg Henry), and though we might not know exactly what he’s plotting,...

Condensing nearly eighty years of comics continuity, characters, and interpretations into other media allows for cherry-picking and revision to be done, so the resulting new work has the look and feel of the original while offering up something fresh, and hopefully, good.
One of the best-regarded storylines in DC’s history is “The Judas Contract” which was the culmination of a two year thread in New Teen Titans because no one saw the twists and turns in the storyline while it also dramatically shifted Dick Grayson’s status quo. It also provided readers with the origin of the Tiran’s great foe, Deathstroke. The ending was emotional and strong while the entire story holds up on rereading.
What is offered up in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract animated feature, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, is a pale comparison for a number of reasons. First, the lineup of characters is...

Fans of DC animation have much reason to rejoice as the latest entry into the ever expanding library is upon us with the release of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Loosely adapting the beloved comic book storyline written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, this film had a sordid past, to say the least. After first being slated for release back in 2008, it was cancelled only to be thankfully resurrected, but now it’ll have a bit more of a New 52 flavor to it.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is the second film featuring these heroes from Warner Animation and DC. It is a marked improvement over the disappointing Teen Titans Vs. Justice League. Based on a four part, 1984 comic series, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract introduces a new Titan, Tara Markov (Christina Ricci) aka Terra, a young woman with the ability to control earth and stone. Directed by Sam Liu and written by Ernie Altbacker, the film slickly integrates adult themes into its entertaining plotline. The Judas Contract is action packed and moves at a fast pace. The Teen Titans are certainly on better footing here.
The film opens with Terra's one year anniversary with the team. She's never fit in, despite everyone's efforts and fawning attention from Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo). The Titans are hot on the trail of a religious despot, Brother Blood (Gregg Henry); and his legion of followers,...

With a few weeks left to go until the release of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, DC All Access has really been spoiling us as of late with videos pertaining to the next addition to DC’s stellar line of animated films. I’m secure in saying that I’m probably not the only one who thinks the wait between DC animated movies feels like an eternity, even if they’re only mere months apart. With but a few weeks to go until the release of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, the folks at DC All Access have thankfully tided us over with a new clip and other goodies.
Although said footage treads very far from spoiler territory, it’s pretty cool to see some fresh content nonetheless, especially when you factor in that it involves Starfire. Up until Justice League vs. Teen Titans, she was a character that was really only hinted at in other related films, so it’s nice to see a version of her that’s more mature than what you’d find on a series airing on Cartoon Network be explored.

If anything, 2017 is going to have quite the steady stream of DC animated films, with the next one up being Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Loosely adapting the classic storyline of the same name written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, it’ll see some of the most beloved young heroes in all of comics face their biggest challenges yet, namely Brother Blood and Deathstroke.
While many of us have to wait for a home video release to enjoy the movie, those fortunate enough to attend WonderCon in Anaheim, California in a few weeks will have the opportunity to attend the world premiere. You see, on Friday, March 31 at 6:00pm, a screening will take place in the Arena of the Anaheim Convention Center, complete with panel afterwards. Should you miss out on that, an encore will be shown on Sunday, April 2 (also in the Arena), but with no panel to follow.

Most everyone has been critical of the Dceu movies that have been released so far, with complaints ranging from poor character development to uneven storylines. However, one thing that DC still, and will always do well with, is the comics themselves. Anytime they adapt one of the great comic stories into an animated film, like Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, they always seems to be entertaining and almost spot on to the books themselves.
This will most likely be the case on March 31, 2017, when The Judas Contract is released at WonderCon Anaheim in the Arena of the Anaheim Convention Center, and then on April 4th when it is released to video. A full picture of the team was just released which you can see in the header image, and check out the trailer here:

Those who aren’t familiar with anything but the cute Teen Titans series are in for quite a surprise as the heroes return to their darker roots in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, which is one of the most incredible efforts from the comics. The feature-length film is inspired by a story arc from the 1984 DC comic, and has an incredible voice cast backing the supremely gritty arc.
The Blu-Ray Giftset, which includes an exclusive Blue Beetle figurine, will hit on April 18th, with Digital HD release on April 4th.
In The Judas Contract, the Titans – Beast Boy, Raven, Blue Beetle, Robin, and Nightwing – are led by Starfire, but their newest teammate, Terra, is throwing the groups dynamic out of whack, and the team comes up against Brother Blood, an ancient evil, and Deathstroke is waiting in the wings to cause problems as well.

With the release of Justice League Dark now being behind us, it’s time that we look forward to the next DC animated film to be released by Warner Home Video, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Following Justice League Dark, DC will release an animated adaptation of Marv Wolfman and George Perez's Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, which is arguably the most popular Titans comic arc, and introduced Terra to the team. The story also featured the origin of Deathstroke, and was notable for Dick Grayson adopting the mantle of Nightwing for the first time. The first trailer for the movie debuted a couple of weeks back, but now we have a press release which reveals that the film will hit digital HD, Blu-Ray/ DVD combo pack on April 18, 2017. If you enjoyed last year's Justice League Vs. Teen Titans, you're gonna want to check out this first trailer for DC Animation's Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. The film is based on the New Teen Titans story arc by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
The story centers on the young psychopath Tara Markov, who is seduced and trained by Deathstroke to infiltrate the Teen Titans and tear them apart from within. Here's a brief story description:
Deathstroke the Terminator has a long held grudge against the Titans relating to the death of his son Grant Wilson the original Ravager. In order to fulfill this grudge he seduces a 15 year old with the extraordinary ability to command the very earth to her will.
This is definitely one of the more shocking Teen Titan storylines. If you've read it, then you know how it all ends, but I won't spoil it here for anyone that doesn't know.

With the voice cast having been revealed several weeks ago and the Blu-ray release of Justice League Dark now behind us (be sure to check out our review), it comes as no surprise that Warner Home Video wasted little time in releasing a trailer for the next DC animated film, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract.
Paying tribute to the classic comic book storyline penned by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, this long awaited adaptation will be a bit more loose than expected, seeing as how it has to align with the New 52 inspired continuity established by the current crop of animated movies. Still, fans should be pleased to see familiar faces such as Nightwing, Raven, Beast Boy and Starfire, along with new additions like Robin/Damian Wayne and Blue Beetle.

One of DC Animation's most highly anticipated titles in 2017 is Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, and now the first trailer for the movie has found its way online. Based on the popular New Teen Titans storyline by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, the feature length adaptation looks pretty cool, and it's pretty clear that it follows the comic book as Deathstroke takes aim at each of the young heroes. Teen Titans: The Judas Contract will serve as something of a follow-up to last year’s Justice League vs. Teen Titans. The comic introduced the perhaps not-to-be-trusted Terra to the Teen Titans and was the storyline in which Dick Grayson first adopted the identity of Nightwing. One of the most popular comic book storylines of its year, it's continually ranked among the greatest Teen Titans stories ever told. What do you guys think of this first trailer for the movie? The concept of the DC Comics’ mystical characters gathering to combat occult evil always sounds good but of course, execution is everything. When it was done sparingly, as in Swamp Thing #50, it was quite effective. As an ongoing series, it proved tough to manage since each player was plucked from a title that had a fairly unique look and feel.
That said, the newly released animated Justice League Dark film is incredibly entertaining and certainly a cut above the last half-dozen releases. From a story by Jld writer J.M. DeMatteis and Ernie Altbacker, Altbacker’s script shifts the super-heroic DC Universe to supernatural threats that Superman (Jerry O’Connell), Wonder Woman (Rosario Dawson), Green Lantern (Roger Cross) and the others are less equipped to handle. Altbacker is no stranger to heroes and magicians with credits including Spooksville and Green Lantern: The Animated Series and he does a fine job weaving the various threads.

Christina Ricci and Miguel Ferrer are the two latest additions to the upcoming Teen Titans: The Judas Contract direct-to-video feature from WB Animation (per THR).
