      Worth Watching for Munro

      Frankula (2017)

      ** 1/2 (out of 4)

Frankie Abbott (David Barry) is living in an assistant nursing home until one day Clarissa Cobra (Caroline Munro) takes him away. He winds up in the woods with a strange group of people who it turns out are vampires.

There's nothing overly great or even good about this U.K. short but if you're a fan of vampire movies then you'll want to check it out. The main reason to watch this film is for the appearance of Munro who still looks striking all these years after her appearances in the likes of THE SPY WHO LOVED ME and MANIAC. If you're a fan of hers then you'll enjoy seeing her playing a vampire here. Barry, who also wrote the screenplay, is good in the lead role but I must admit that I really didn't laugh at much of the humor.

      Tomato saucy!

The first thing to remember about "Frankula" is that it's meant to be fun, and as far as I am concerned it is. The story involves Frankie Abbott of TV's "Please Sir!" and "The Fenn Street Gang", played by David Barry, reprising the role, who is now in a home. I don't want to give away any of the plot but the story does involve a liaison in a cemetery with three luscious vampires and their male master, chips and tomato sauce are also involved!. The male vampire is played by newcomer Martin Rudman, while the three luscious lady vamps are played by Caroline Munro and Judy Matheson both looking just as lovely as ever. The third vampire is played by the gorgeous Emma Dark, model, actor and certainly no stranger to making her own successful short films. The plot isn't difficult at all to follow. It's a bit of fun, doesn't pretend to be anything else, and at 7 minutes long won't take up a great deal of your time to watch. Give it a look, just remember to bring your own tomato sauce!.

Enjoyed IT!! Frankula is good campy FUN!!

I watched FRANKULA on Amazon this year. It's a throwback to Frankie Abbott with a tip to Hammer Horror. The "PLEASE, SIR!" actor (David Barry) falls asleep and dreams of Vampires in this campy little Horror-Comedy. There are one-liners of comedy "GOT ANY, CHIPS?" - and FRANKULA Features some Vampire Madness!

The humor is very British and there are faces some might be aware of: Caroline Munro, Judy Matheson and Emma Dark (who play the female Vampires). Actress, Fenella Fielding also provides a voice Narration. Martin Rudman - a new comer - also stays as a Vampire. Directed by Jason Read of Robo Films. The Misty Moon Team was also behind FRANKULA and is filmed in London.

It's good Campy fun which is nicely shot for a low budget film. It is a short 7 Minute effort, but won't take up a lot of your time. The plan is just to Entertain in a Light-Hearted way.
