Superboys of Malegaon is a Hindi-language film directed by Reema Kagti that was inspired by the 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon. The film tells the story of Nasir Shaikh, a wedding videographer from Malegaon, predominantly Muslim area in India, who teams up with his friends to create a film for their local community.

Leading the cast is Adarsh Gourav who rose to international fame with his compelling performance as Balram Halwai in The White Tiger (2021), earning nominations for both the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

As per peepingmoon journalist Rahul Raut , In an exciting development, talented actor Rajkummar Rao is expanding his creative horizons by turning producer! His maiden production venture, a Netflix film titled “Toaster”, is set to star Sonakshi Sinha alongside him. Archana Puran Singh will also play a pivotal role in the crime comedy.

Marking Rajkummar’s fifth collaboration with Netflix, “Toaster” is slated to begin production in the latter half of this year. While the director’s name has not been revealed yet, the project is already generating buzz in the industry.

Rajkummar has had a successful association with Netflix, having worked on projects like “Ludo”, “Monica, O My Darling!”, “The White Tiger”, and “Guns & Gulaabs”. With “Toaster”, he is taking his creative journey to the next level as a producer.

Sonakshi Sinha, fresh from her recent Netflix series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar”, is expected to bring her signature charm to the film.

There’s a lot going on in the world of Alien at the moment. The original classic is returning to theaters, for starters, and the Xenomorphs will be fighting Marvel’s superheroes in the upcoming mashup comic Aliens vs. Avengers. Of course, the main event for 2024 is Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, a brand new big screen movie set between Alien and Aliens!

With so much going on, you’d be forgiven for forgetting that Disney is also working on an “Alien” television series, in the works for FX from creator Noah Hawley (“Legion”).

The Alien franchise’s first ever television series is likely to arrive sometime in 2025, set to be the first story in the franchise that takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future.

FX teases, “Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”

So what’s the latest on the “Alien” TV series?...

On February 23, 2024, Cohen Media Group released “Io Capitano” in the United States, Italy’s Oscar-nominated Best International Feature film directed by Matteo Garrone. The movie is a Homeric fairy tale that tells the adventurous journey of two young boys, Seydou (Seydou Sarr) and Moussa (Moustapha Fall), who leave Dakar to reach Europe. The 2024 Oscars contender has received widespread acclaim from critics, scoring a perfect 100% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The critics consensus reads, “A journey toward hope, ‘Io Capitano’ perambulates through the ravishing Saharan landscape encountering the most sublime and debased corners of humanity.” The castings, under the direction of Henri-Didier Njikam, took place on the African continent and features mostly newcomers. The Alien franchise will return with its first ever television series in 2025, and it’s set to be the first story in the franchise that takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future.

Creator Noah Hawley‘s take on the Alien franchise has been described as both an “extension and reinvention” of the films, but don’t expect Ridley Scott’s prequel movies to factor into the series. Scott, who’s on board the FX series as producer, dug into the origins of the Xenomorphs in both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, but Hawley reveals in a new chat with Kcrw’s The Business that he’s not interested in playing with any of those story threads.

Wooooo, wowwww….What a wonderful way to wrap up the year! Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is just the year-ender we needed to dispel the bitter aftertaste of the movieland’s misfires that left us shaken and sadly not stirred.

Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is fresh and inviting, like a hot cup of coffee brewed with care and affection. It is not a great film by any stretch of the imagination. But the three protagonists are young (please note: they are really young and not just pretending to be), eager to step into the world of the rich and the famous. The girl Ahana (Ananya Pandey) is already there. Her two best friends Neel (Adarsh Gourav) and Imaad (Siddhant Chaturvedi) are getting there. There will be pain, heartache, recrimination and reconciliation before the end.

Adarsh Gourav, who’s awaiting the release of his next film ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, a Netflix year ender, has said that his resolution for the year 2024 is to channelise his anger in the right direction.

Much appreciated for the way he essayed his character in ‘The White Tiger’, the actor said, “I want to channelise my anger in the right way. I know it is a natural emotion to have but it is self-destructive. I want to channelise it effectively.”

Moving on to how far he could relate to his character Neil from the film, he said, “I genuinely feel Arjun, Nandini, Karan and Zoya, when they cast us, saw the essence of each of the characters that the three of us are playing in the film.

“I instantly related to Neil’s feeling of inadequacy and insecurity — the feeling of financial insecurity in the midst of the people he is surrounded by.

Just one day after we learned that Timothy Olyphant (“Fargo”) has joined the cast of FX’s “Alien” series, Deadline reports that David Rysdahl (“Fargo”) has also signed on.

The upcoming series will reteam both Olyphant and Rysdahl with creator Noah Hawley, who of course previously created the small screen version of “Fargo” they starred in.

Fede Alvarez’s upcoming Alien movie is currently set for theatrical release on August 16, 2024, but what about the “Alien” TV series from FX and creator Noah Hawley (“Fargo”)?

According to new comments from Hawley, the “Alien” franchise likely isn’t headed to the small screen until sometime in 2025 – a year after Alvarez’s new movie comes along.

“We’re all just waiting for the strike, and it will end,” Hawley tells TheWrap this week. “The plan right now is to go back in January and be shooting in February, and looks like shoot until July or so, which puts the air date somewhere in the first half of ’25.”

Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas talked about how she was warned away from doing female-centric films when working in Hindi cinema, as well as her ambitions to expand her portfolio in the U.S., in a conversation with fellow Indian actress Bhumi Pednekar at Mumbai Film Festival today.

In a relaxed master class that focused on the craft of acting, Chopra Jonas explained that she was advised not to take on one of her early films, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion (2008), in which she starred as a small-town girl who becomes a super-model.

“I signed on for the film right after Krrish, and was told that actresses only do female-oriented projects at the end of their careers so they can win a National Award,” said Chopra Jonas, who moved into acting after winning the Miss World beauty pageant in 2000. “Back then there were not many female-centric movies.”

The celebration will be hosted by Indian filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby.
