Maya loves racing. She would like to join The Honey Games, but her hive never gets invited. They are surprised to get an invitation by Empress of Buzztropoli. They are ordered to contribute half of the honey harvest. Despite the summer's meager harvest and the impossible demand, the Queen reluctantly submits to her older sister. Maya and Willi head out into the city to talk to the Empress. It goes badly. Maya and her ragtag team have to win for the survival of the hive.

I've never seen this franchise. The animation is TV level. The story is a solid underdog tale. Maya is earnest and appealing. It's Hunger Games without the killings. This has a good message for the preteen crowd. It's fine.

Before I do such a "cramp", I prefer to look at "The Augsburg Doll Box" with "Schlupp of the green star".
