When Eternals was released in 2021, it became Marvel Studios' first "Rotten" movie. Between that and the fact it dropped during the final months of the pandemic, the movie struggled to make a significant impact at the box office and grossed only $402 million worldwide.

While there's no denying it was a little overstuffed (including an abysmal villain in Kro), there was a lot about Eternals that did work. The movie arguably has something of an undeserved bad rap, particularly as it showed a different side of the MCU and set the stage for exciting future stories.

Unfortunately, four years later, Marvel Studios still hasn't announced plans to resolve the movie's big cliffhanger. As a result, it's unclear when or where we'll learn what became of the Eternals taken from Earth by Arishem for judgment after their role in stopping Tiamut's emergence.

Schools Spirits is making waves on Paramount+. A day after its Season 2 finale was released, the supernatural drama series managed to land in the streamer's Top 10 TV Shows list.

According to FlixPatrol, School Spirits is currently ranked No. 5 on Paramount+'s Top 10 TV Shows list for Mar. 7. However, the series is currently at No. 1 on the Top 10 Overall for Amazon Channels, a massive +8 jump from the previous day and perhaps a far more impressive feat. Created by Megan and Nate Trinrud, School Spirits first premiered on Paramount+ in March 2023, while the second season launched this past January. Despite the almost two-year gap between seasons, the supernatural show was seemingly worth the wait, given that it has managed to remain in Paramount+'s Top 10 ranking throughout the release of its second season.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the final trailer for A Minecraft Movie, which will open in theaters on April 4. Tickets are now on sale for the big-screen adaptation.

Coral made her debut on the Feb. 12 episode of The Masked Singer Season 13 as a member of Group A. The sultry sea creature's first song on Fox's reality TV show was “Mad World” by Tears for Fears, and she had the four panelists guessing such famous names as Carly Rae Jepsen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Halsey.

This season includes the new costumed character Detective Lucky Duck, who will help panelists “uncover who’s behind each mask.”

During the episode, Group A contestants Ant, Coral, and Paparazzo returned to the stage for their second performance of the season.

While on stage, Coral performed “Luck be a Lady” by Frank Sinatra.

Marvel Animation has been killing it of late with critics and audiences between the acclaimed first seasons of X-Men '97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, along with the three-season run of What If...? The future looks bright too, with both of the prior two series renewed for more episodes and exciting new shows on the horizon, like Marvel Zombies. The one downside for fans is that high-quality animated projects take a lot of time, meaning that subsequent seasons can progress for years before finally seeing the light of day. However, Marvel's Television head, Brad Winderbaum, has confidence that, at the very least, the web-slinger will see new adventures on a more regular cadence.

Fans of Black Panther’s Okoye will have to wait a little longer until they can see Danai Gurira back in action: Plans for the Dora Milaje general’s spinoff series have been scrapped.

“I love Okoye. I think fans of Okoye are going to be excited to see her come back,” Marvel Studio’s head of streaming, television and animation Brad Winderbaum told Pay or Wait. “But I don’t think it’s going to be on a television show. I can’t say where or when, but I think there’s a lot to look forward to.”

Last week, the news broke that Marvel Studios has shelved TV shows revolving around Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. The biggest shocker was Richard Rider's long-awaited MCU debut being put on "pause," especially as we were hearing some exciting things about the show.

The change likely comes as a result of Marvel Television moving away from series that set the stage for movies. For example, The Marvels and Captain America: Brave New World underperforming has been blamed on them requiring people to have tuned into WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier beforehand.

Despite this, some Bleach villains underestimated Ichigo so much that they thought they could defeat him.

For one reason or another, these Bleach villains fell victim to their hubris when they either goaded Ichigo into a fight or they thought they could use him like a puppet. Whichever the case, Ichigo overpowered them and reminded them who they were dealing with. To add insult to injury, their final deaths and humiliations were often not even given to them by Ichigo.

Severin Films, who have released a long lineup of her films, brings us the sad news this week that prolific Italian genre screenwriter Rossella Drudi has passed away at the age of 61.

Horror fans may best know Rossella Drudi as the co-writer of Troll 2, which was one of Drudi’s many collaborations with her husband, Claudio Fragasso. Both Drudi and Fragasso were heavily featured in the documentary Best Worst Movie, which dove deep into the making of Troll 2 as well as explored the film’s legacy as one of the, well, best worst movies ever made.

But Rossella Drudi worked on countless other Italian genre movies throughout her decades-spanning career, writing and co-writing horror films including Hell of the Living Dead, Women’s Prison Massacre, Rats: Night of Terror, Monster Dog, Zombi 3, Robowar, After Death, Beyond Darkness, and The Crawlers, and that list quite frankly goes on and on.

We’re only one week into Season 13 of The Masked Singer, but I’m pretty sure I’ve already stumbled (like a zombie, you might say) upon the identity of the undersea songstress known as Coral.

To be fair, though, I have to tip my hat to the internet on this one. Within seconds of Coral opening her mouth to perform Tears for Fears’ “Mad World” on last week’s premiere, Disney Channel diehards instantly recognized the vocals of Meg Donnelly, star of the network’s Zombies movie franchise.

It's a big Marvel anniversary, and Loki's Miss Minutes is taking comic readers on a trip down memory lane.

Marvel released a new animated video celebrating the Young Avengers' 20th anniversary, with the sentient Tva symbol (voiced again by Tara Strong) serving as narrator as she recaps the first comic's issue and team debut. Created in the wake of Avengers Disassembled, this original team consisted of Wiccan, Patriot, Hulkling, and Iron Lad, though Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang would later join their team as brand new heroes. The group's actions put them on the radar of J. Jonah Jameson, who recruits Jessica Jones to investigate them and who, in turn, partners up with Iron Man and Captain America to halt the heroes' unsupervised actions. However, a confrontation with the classic Avengers leads to Iron Lad unveiling his true identity: Nathaniel Richards, a future version of Avengers villain Kang the Conqueror's younger self.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the latest animated series from Marvel Studios, spent plenty of time in the headline cycle during the show's premiere week, and certainly not for the reasons that Kevin Feige and co. were hoping for. While speaking to Collider last week, Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Hudson Thames shared that he was worried the show was going to be "annoying and woke," which resulted in severe backlash from the fanbase, with some even calling for the role to be recast for future projects. However, during a recent interview with Critiqal, Marvel Studios Head of TV and Streaming Brad Winderbaum confirmed that Thames will also reprise his role as Spider-Man in Marvel Zombies, the TV-ma rated Marvel animated project set to release later this year that still does not have an official release date.

In What If...? season 1, we visited a reality inhabited by "Marvel Zombies." The episode concluded with Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Ant-Man returning to Wakanda in a Quinjet...unaware that a zombified Thanos was waiting for them with the Infinity Gauntlet in hand.

Until now, we've been in the dark when it comes to whether the upcoming four-episode Marvel Zombies will address that cliffhanger in any meaningful way (an officially released still of the Mad Titan has suggested it might).

In a new interview to promote the release of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on Disney+, Marvel Studios' Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum revealed, "Hudson has been our animated voice for Spdier-Man in the MCU so far. In What If...?, in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and he also plays Spider-Man in Marvel Zombies which comes out Halloween time this year."

Sony Pictures Television has named former Disney executive Jennifer Rogers Doyle as its new executive vice president of franchise management.

Based in the studio’s Culver City lot, Rogers Doyle will be responsible for leading and overseeing the franchise strategy and maximizing revenue opportunities for IP such as “Cobra Kai,” “For All Mankind,” “The Boys,” “Outlander,” “Messi and the Giants” and “Bewitched” among others.

She will report to Sony Pictures Television Studios President Katherine Pope.

“With our ever-expanding series universes, we are focused on enhancing fan engagement, growing potential audiences, and driving the long-term value of our IP,” Pope added. “Jennifer’s expertise in creating opportunities to build and extend franchises makes her a perfect fit for this new role. We are thrilled to have her join the team.”

Marvel released an official clip for its latest Spider-Man show, specifically revealing the moment Peter (Hudson Thames) was bitten by the radioactive spider that granted him special abilities. Following the aftermath of a battle that left a hole in Midtown High School, the clip shows the spider making contact with Peter just as he introduces himself to student Nico Minoru (Grace Song), who reveals herself to be a fellow freshman. Its bite, meanwhile, causes him to pass out, though not before Peter observes the spider climb onto another student's backpack before it's carried away.

If you can ignore all the previous controversies, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a decent game, and the Zombies mode is probably its most well-received aspect. However, the inability to pause when playing multiplayer has been the most frequent grievance regarding the mode thus far. Although you can pause while playing solo, most people don’t play that mode.

Marvel Studios has a pretty packed 2025 slate with titles like Eyes for Wakanda, Marvel Zombies and, perhaps the most exciting of them all, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which is set to debut soon. While fans have seen many iterations of the character in both live-action and even in animation, the upcoming animated series will introduce a new iteration of the character within the MCU. Fans were excited to see Norman Osborn entering the universe in the trailer, and the iconic character will be voiced by none other than Colman Domingo.

Big casting news has been revealed for the upcoming Vision Quest series in the works at Disney+. The series will bring back an actor from the very first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to reprise his role nearly two decades later.

Per Deadline, it has been revealed that actor Faran Tahir (Star Trek) is set to appear in Vision Quest, a WandaVision spinoff series led by Paul Bettany. Tahir played the villainous terrorist, Raza, in Robert Downey Jr.'s first Iron Man film in 2008, and given the character's fate, he hasn't been seen in the MCU since. Reportedly, Tahir is reprising his role as Raza, but it's not yet clear how he will be factored into the story. The series is expected to follow Bettany's Vision as he attempts to heal following the events of Avengers: Infinity War and WandaVision.

The globe-trotting, centuries-spanning story told in Eyes of Wakanda could only be achieved through animation. Todd Harris, the showrunner of the four-episode Disney+ limited series, recently explained why the Black Panther prequel series would not have worked as a live-action project.

In a new press statement from The Walt Disney Company about Marvel Animation's 2025 slate, Harris opened up about the origins of Eyes of Wakanda, revealing that it has "been a long time coming" for the Black Panther series. "The story has been stewing for a long time in my head. I’m a big believer in what Wakanda represents to mankind as a place that’s untethered by expansion," Harris shared. "It has drawn a line — a line it won’t cross and it won’t let anybody else cross."

Back in 2005, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman put a superhero twist on the idea of zombie outbreaks with the five issue limited series Marvel Zombies. That series became incredibly popular and has gotten a ton of sequels and spin-offs over the years. There was a nod to it in one of the illusions on display in Spider-Man: Far from Home, and then the Marvel Zombies concept got an entire episode of Marvel’s animated Disney+ series What If…? devoted to it. That episode is leading to a full Marvel Zombies animated series, which will be rated TV-ma – and the Walt Disney Company has now reveal that the series is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 3rd.

All of Us Are Dead season 2 is expected to be a “survival period for zombies” according to one of the show’s creators, a surprising but exciting approach for the zombie K-drama’s future. Shortly after the release of season 1, Lee Jae-kyoo told HypeBeast Kr (via What’s On Netflix) that All of Us Are Dead 2 was going to flip season 1’s premise. Rather than a survival period for humans, All of Us Are Dead would now be about the zombies trying to survive. The director was most likely referring to hambies like Nam-ra having to survive in Hyosan.

Assuming this is indeed the storyline All of Us Are Dead season 2 will follow, the Netflix original K-drama is in a good position to reinvent itself after an incredibly successful first season. A loose continuation of Marvel's What If…?'s zombie storyline, Marvel Zombies follows a new team of characters as they try to survive the growing apocalypse, bringing them into contact with several familiar superheroes-turned-monsters. Per showrunner Bryan Andrews, Marvel Studios' Brad Winderbaum and Kevin Feige "loved the What If…? episode so much. They were like, 'We need more zombies!' They said, 'Let's do a sequel to that episode — but let's do four episodes, like a mini-movie event.' So, we're upping the ante."

The conversation around the superhero genre will always be incomplete if you don’t talk about Zack Snyder and his contribution to DC. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, you cannot deny that the filmmaker’s vision was quite refreshing when it came to bringing those superheroes to life. Whether it was Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, or Gal Gadot, he did his best to do justice to these characters, even if some might not think so.

Of course, his actors have spoken up about working in the Dceu, including Jesse Eisenberg who played the role of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and had a cameo in Justice League. While he has nothing but praise for the film, he did admit that it hurt his career in a drastic way and he blames no one but himself.

Jeff Trammel knows Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has big animated boots to fill.

"Everything in the series is 3D animation. We work in a CG pipeline but managed to find a way to achieve the 2D look of that classic comic-book style that was such an inspiration for us," Trammell told Animation Magazine in a conversation about Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man series and giving the cartoon its own distinct identity. Praising their collaborations with animation studios Polygon Pictures and Taipei, he added, "We actually chose Polygon as our partners due to their 2D look development. As fans of their previous work, we knew they could help us zero in on the style we wanted but also keep the characters feeling alive and real, without feeling stiff and mechanical."

Marvel Studios Animation had a successful 2024 based on X-Men ’97 alone. The return of the beloved 1990s cartoon was exciting for Marvel fans, especially the ones who grew up watching X-Men: The Animated Series every Saturday morning, but no one could have expected X-Men ’97 to defy all expectations the way it did.

Marvel’s animated division completely upped the ante with the story, the mutants, and their powers, all without betraying the foundational elements that were laid down 30 years prior. If that made this show less “family entertainment” than it used to be, then that was a sacrifice worth making, just like Gambit’s heroic sacrifice in the unforgettable chapter “Remember It” that cemented X-Men ’97 as one of the best animated series of all time.
