Per Deadline, Ritchson and Wilson are set to co-star in a new action drama film called Runner. The movie will be directed by Scott Waugh, known in part for directing the Need for Speed adaptation starring Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul. More recently, Waugh helmed Expend4bles, the fourth installment of the star-studded Expendables movie series. He also directed the 2023 action movie Hidden Strike with Jackie Chan and John Cena.

Before John Wick ushered in a new era of stuntmen turned directors, Expend4bles director Scott Waugh was one of the few exceptions to pull off the feat. When "The Expendables" first exploded into theaters back in 2010, the cast of aging action icons were already getting a little long in the tooth. Seeing Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis in the same scene together was still worth the price of admission, however. Incredibly, it's already been 10 years since "Expendables 3" came out as the weakest entry in the series, as it proved to be a marketing mistake to give the third installment a PG-13 rating. As a result, the series has made the right course correction by making "Expendables 4" (aka "Expend4bles") R-rated.
