Martin Campbell, director of such great films as The Protegé, Casino Royale, and Golden Eye, is no stranger to crafting gripping action thrillers. Even if they must include violence. That's the case with Campbell's latest thrill ride, Dirty Angels, a non-stop action film about an all-women commando unit set on liberating a group of schoolgirls taken hostage in Afghanistan. Bottom line: Martin Campbell does not disappoint as a director. In a recent MovieWeb interview, Campbell defended the use of graphic violence here, noting:
"These are six women. They're military trained, right? I wanted all the violence to be realistic… to the point that those girls could actually do it. This is not heightened violence. This is violence on a military level. And I didn't want any superhero stuff. And it is fun, obviously, but they [the commando team] are well-trained, they are very good at their job. When push comes to shove,...

The Sopranos premiered 25 years ago on HBO and was arguably the turning point for the network, making way for many innovative TV shows. Show creator David Chase based many of the characters on family members. The show was a hit from the get-go, praised by critics and viewers alike. Serving as an inspiration for many crime shows that followed, it's as relevant now as it was back then. The hit show has an impressive overall rating of 9.2 on IMDb and is often regarded as the single greatest television show of all time.
Tony Soprano, the lead, portrayed by James Gandolfini, was a complex and mesmerizing character, capable of monstrous deeds in one minute while being a caring, empathetic father in the next. While The Sopranos was quite dark at times, it also featured plenty of comedic moments without appearing cheesy, and nowhere is this balance more evident than its iconic season finales.

Alien Shark opens with a badly animated CGI meteor heading for Earth. We don’t see it enter the atmosphere or anything, but it must have made it through because a couple of women jogging on the beach find some pieces of glowing space rock. One of them is dumb enough to pick a chunk up and goes wandering into the surf, her concerned friend following her, until both suddenly drop out of the frame in ankle-deep water.
I should have stopped watching then, but I’m stubborn, unfortunately this time I was too stubborn for my own good.
Aleesha is about to go through Ranger training, so what are her plans for the four days before it starts? Rest up, make sure she’s ready for the challenge?...

The Sopranos is a popular crime drama and one of HBO's most successful TV shows. Many critics and viewers even consider The Sopranos the best TV series of all time. And with six seasons and almost 90 episodes, The Sopranos has featured several talented guest-stars. Actors like Cristin Milioti played important roles in more than one episode of The Sopranos.
However, some actors guest starred in The Sopranos only once, like Annette Bening or The Wire's Michael Kenneth Williams. Others, like Jon Favreau or Sir Ben Kingsley, had small roles and played a fictionalized version of themselves for a single episode. In a few cases, some actors appeared in the series before becoming international stars. For these reasons, it's possible fans might not remember all the talented actors who have appeared in The Sopranos.

Billed as a vampire comedy, Don’t Suck is the story of Pete, a burnt-out comedian who’s spent too much time chasing fame on the standup circuit. He’s finally managed to go viral, but it’s from using the C word on a cashier while trying to be funny. However, he and comedy club owner Danny dismiss it as her fault for being too easily offended.
That’s followed by Pete approvingly referring to Danny “Weinstiening” the students in his comedy class and boasting about being part of the mob that stormed the Capitol. That should give you an idea of where Don’t Suck is coming from, what kind of jokes to expect and whether or not to cut your losses and bail now.

Larry Charles’ résumé is all over the place. As a writer, he penned some of Seinfeld’s most memorable episodes (see: “The Library”). As a TV director, he skewered his industry with Curb Your Enthusiasm and Entourage. As a filmmaker, he embraced mockumentary with Borat and Brüno. But his latest entry, by his own admission, might be his most unhinged to date. He just released Dicks: The Musical, a hard-r spoof of The Parent Trap featuring telepathic sewer creatures, a disembodied CGI vagina and Megan Thee Stallion walking men on leashes like dogs. “I don’t have a legacy or body of work or anything like that, so I don’t think about stuff like that,” the Dicks director explained on the eve of its Oct. 6 theatrical launch. “I never know what I’m doing next.”

So my father didn’t really teach me much in the way of life lessons but he did impart one piece of wisdom to live by… “Kevin,” he said, “you can never trust a man with three first names”.

Another female-driven thriller that I really dug and going by the trailer we were in for more of the same only dialled up to 11.

HBO and HBO Max will be home to new original films, highly anticipated streaming debuts of new releases, and the finales of three popular series throughout February. Below, we’ve assembled a complete list of everything new on HBO and HBO Max in February 2022, and it includes a new thriller from director Steven Soderbergh and starring Zoe Kravitz called “Kimi.” The original feature takes place in a Covid-19 pandemic Seattle and follows an agoraphobic tech worker who discovers violent crimes have occurred in a data stream. The Max Original film premieres on Feb. 10.
Also coming in February is the “Raised by Wolves” Season 2 premiere on Feb. 3, with new episodes released weekly, as well as the season premiere of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” on Feb. 20. And coming to a close in February are the original series “Euphoria,” “And Just Like That…” and “Peacemaker,” which all air finales this month.

For its list of new releases of February 2022, HBO Max is bringing back one of its biggest original series.
The Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi epic Raised by Wolves helped launch HBO Max back in 2020 and now it’s finally back for another season. Raised by Wolves season 2 premieres with three episodes on Feb. 3. This season will continue the conflict between future atheists and theists on a remote planet, while two androids raise some kids.
February 2022 also sees the end of another, more recent HBO Max hit. Peacemaker airs its finale on Feb. 17. Thankfully that same day sees the premiere of another exciting original. Dream Raider is a Mandarin-language sci-fi thriller that carries some big Inception vibes.
There aren’t many original movies of note this month, but there are a lot of recent hits coming to HBO Max as library titles. Nightmare Alley arrives on Feb. 1, followed by The Many Saints of Newark on Feb.

Exclusive: Amer Chadha-Patel (Doom: Annihilation) has landed a male lead opposite Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz and Erin Kellyman in Willow, Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s upcoming TV series follow-up to the 1988 fantasy movie, with the film’s star Warwick Davis reprising his title role, I have learned. Lucasfilm declined comment.
The new incarnation of Willow, which also stars Tony Revolori, comes from Jonathan Kasdan, who wrote the pilot and serves as co-showrunner alongside Wendy Mericle; the original film’s director Ron Howard and writer Bob Dolman; as well as Lucasfilm, which produced the movie. Jonathan Entwistle is directing.
The Willow movie, written by Dolman from a story by George Lucas, starred Davis as a reluctant farmer who leads a ragtag crew on a quest to protect a special baby from a tyrannical queen who vows to destroy her. The series takes place years after the events of the film. It introduces...

The Offspring return to their signature mix of guileless pop-punk and forked-tongue irony on “Let the Bad Times Roll,” the title track off their upcoming record, which will be their first in nearly a decade.
Although the title puns off the Cars, the track starts off sounding a bit more like the Police, as Dexter Holland mewls the song title over acoustic guitar before the band settles into a hard rock groove and he sings to his lover, “Let me know what you decide, apathy or suicide,” as he sardonically...
