The White Lotus is an HBO satire that follows groups of privileged individuals spending time at a resort. While the show takes a comedic approach to its quirky main characters, it primarily focuses on the privileges these wealthy individuals have and come from. Each season occurs at the same high-end resort but features different themes, locations, and usually new resort attendees.
Since its premiere in 2020, The White Lotus has gained substantial exposure and has become even more popular with the airing of its third season. Mike White, the show's creator, adeptly captures the complexities of human nature, even in a utopian setting. However, while White's creative vision is impossible to recreate, there are still plenty of drama-heavy shows that are perfect for The White Lotus fans.

Taking eight episodes for what would, in more efficient hands, be a pilot — and setting up a second season that’s somehow even less necessary — Paramount+’s Happy Face vacillates between sanctimonious and hypocritical, lashing out at the exploitative tropes of true crime and then embodying the genre’s worst instincts, with nothing especially perceptive to offer as compensation.
It’s a show that’s at least paying lip service to doing something interesting, but there are too many intellectual hurdles it can’t clear.
Created by Jennifer Cacicio (Your Honor), the series describes itself as “Inspired by a True Life Story.”
In this case, the story is that of Melissa Moore, who turned the ignominy of being the daughter of a notorious serial killer into an autobiography, podcast, crime correspondent gig with Dr. Phil and more additional TV appearances than a reasonable person could count.

Dennis Quaid is set to mark a haunting role in his filmography: Playing a serial killer. Starring alongside Annaleigh Ashford, upcoming Paramount+ series “Happy Face” follows real-life murderer Keith Jesperson, also known as the Happy Face Killer. Ashford stars as Jesperson’s daughter Melissa Reed Aka Melissa G. Moore, who is forced to confront the carnage caused by her father during the trial of another alleged killer.
“Keith Jesperson is a serial killer,” Quaid told IndieWire of his character at Paramount+’s The Lodge in SXSW. “He killed eight women in five years. He was also a father to Annaleigh’s character, Melissa, and she had a very close relationship. Then she found out at the age of 15, when he was caught, that he was a serial killer. How do you reconcile having that loving dad, with this monster, what he did? That’s basically what the show ‘Happy Face’ is about.

This post contains spoilers for "Your Honor."
"Your Honor" wasn't quite the hit that star Bryan Cranston's previous drama series, "Breaking Bad," was. But when your drama series is on Showtime (now Paramount+ with Showtime), it's at somewhat of a disadvantage in terms of its reach — which is why the excellent, savage satire that was "The Curse" never got the support it deserved. Luckily, after the series wrapped up in 2023, "Your Honor" got a Netflix boost when it hit the streamer back in July 2024, making it a much more widely-viewed show than it ever was before.
That's a good thing, too. As widowed New Orleans judge Michael Desiato, Cranston was characteristically brilliant, delivering an arresting performance that demanded a lot from the actor as he rendered the Judge's transformation from morally upstanding citizen to compromised criminal. After his own son, Adam (Hunter Doohan), admits to killing a young man...

Chet Hanks — the son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson who has become something of an internet personality over the years — has landed his biggest acting role to date in Running Point, the new Netflix series starring Kate Hudson.
Hanks has previously acted in shows including Empire, Shameless and Your Honor — alongside a rap career under the name Chet Haze — but is maybe best known for the “White Boy Summer” meme that he coined in 2021. When the name Bryan Cranston is heard, people usually think one of two things; that’s the dad from Malcolm in the Middle or that’s Heisenberg from Breaking Bad. Cranston is most recognized for these roles for the superb performance he gave in both shows, which have earned him major nominations and awards at the Emmys, Golden Globes, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Cranston has passed some major milestones in his career, which is likely why the actor is slowing down with his acting roles, though some fans of his will likely not know that Cranston was in an Oscar-nominated film in 2018. Cranston won an Annie Award for Best Voice Acting in the movie, which is now streaming on Hulu. It is called Isle of Dogs.

Walter White was a terrible character in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. However, the actor portraying White, Bryan Cranston, is not who he seems to be on the television screens!

Although oftentimes vocal about his opinions, Bryan Cranston doesn’t really hold back his words while talking about politics. This time, his aim was at Donald Trump’s slogan.

No. His comments will not be taken out of context since although the actor did say this statement, he meant it in terms of what the history of America has been like over countless years.

Bryan Cranston has always had a soft spot for shunned and damaged characters. Whether it be the terminally ill and morally evil Walter White or the despairing and ethically bankrupt Michael Desiato, Cranston’s roles speak volumes even without the actor having to utter a single word.

Bryan Cranston is confirmed to be returning for a reboot of Malcolm in the Middle — but in the meantime, check out his other classic TV show, Breaking Bad. It was recently confirmed that a Malcolm in the Middle revival is in the works for Disney+. Cranston will reprise his role as Hal, Frankie Muniz will reprise his role as Malcolm, and Jane Kaczmarek will reprise her role as Lois. The reboot will consist of four new episodes, and it’ll see Hal and Lois demanding that Malcolm attend their 40th wedding anniversary party with his daughter.
It could be a while before the Malcolm in the Middle reboot finally streams on Disney+, but Cranston has plenty of other classic TV shows to watch during the wait. For starters, there are seven still-relevant seasons of the original Malcolm in the Middle series to binge-watch in time for the show’s continuation.

Before he became Walter White, Bryan Cranston was recognized as a character actor and a force to be reckoned with in television comedies. The actor, who reached unprecedented career heights with Breaking Bad later in his career, has Malcolm in the Middle to thank for bringing him to that platform. And thanking the comedy, he is — via a new revival.
That’s right! Cranston has decided to return to his roots, choosing his most popular on-screen comedy persona, Hal Wilkerson. The Breaking Bad and Your Honor actor will be reprising his role as Hal, alongside returning cast members Jane Kaczmarek and Frankie Muniz, who portrayed his on-screen wife Lois and son Malcolm, respectively. The sequel will directly arrive on Disney+ and will be a small affair with only four episodes and a limited storyline.

Cinema has long been one of the best mediums for storytelling, with a range of dynamic and talented actors helping bring to life these stories. While all major actors turn in memorable careers that span numerous roles, some actors leave an indelible mark on a particular character. Although these actors can have other iconic characters under their belt, there's no denying that a role becomes almost synonymous with their performer.
Although Hollywood doesn't always stick the landing with some castings, others are so strong that it can be difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. This similarly applies to TV, where actors will spend years playing the same character as the two progressively blend into one person. Indeed, some characters are so inseparable from their actors that it's almost impossible to recast without angering fans or failing to live up to expectations.

The 2016 crime drama movie The Infiltrator chronicles the true story of a federal agent who infiltrated a dangerous drug cartel led by Pablo Escobar. Reviews have called The Infiltrator stylishly crafted, as well as highlighting the scarcely believable details of its true story. Set in the 1980s, the film explores the dark world of organized crime and money laundering. That agent was Robert Mazur, who has since done much to raise awareness of ever-evolving laundering techniques. Mazur has also put a spotlight on the corruption of financial institutions involved with key drug cartels.
Mazur still does not reveal his face publicly due to the real threat to his life and his family, but he is an outspoken and prolific speaker and author. His work has not only inspired a great Bryan Cranston thriller replacement for fans of Your Honor, but continues to inform and inspire people from many walks of life,...

Bryan Cranston's 2016 true crime drama film The Infiltrator features an elaborate cast based on real-life characters. Directed by Brad Furman and written by his mother Ellen Furman, The Infiltrator is based on the book of the same name by U.S. Customs Special Agent Robert Mazur, who Cranston plays in the film. Despite receiving mostly positive reviews upon its July 2016 theatrical release, The Infiltrator grossed $22 million at the global box office against an estimated budget of between $28 and $47 million. It ranks number 8 on Netflix's U.S. Top 10 Movies list at the time of writing.
While not typically considered among Bryan Cranston's best movies, The Infiltrator earned a Rotten Tomatoes critic score of 72%. The narrative follows a dedicated agent who dives into the grimy underworld of money laundering and blurs the line between duty and deception. Cranston's Robert Mazur goes undercover as a corrupt businessman named Bob Musella who...

After Breaking Bad concluded, 2020's Your Honor was the clear choice for Breaking Bad fans, as Bryan Cranston's crime thriller managed to recapture the tone of the hit AMC series. Lately, Bryan Cranston has had one of the top-performing shows on Netflix. No, you didn't transport back to 2012 when Breaking Bad was all the rage and the biggest show to watch on Netflix. The Emmy Award-winning actor starred in the Showtime crime drama series Your Honor, which brought both of its seasons to Netflix on May 31, 2024... and everyone is loving it.
Your Honor first premiered on Showtime with its 10-episode first season in December 2020 and was intended to be a limited series. However, in August 2021, the cable network renewed the series for a second season, which also contains 10 episodes. Unfortunately, after season 2 finished airing in March 2023, Showtime has not renew the show for a third season.
Back in July 2022, Cranston's comments regarding the show on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast seemed to hint toward Your Honor ending with season 2. "As they tell me, it got higher ratings than...

After the success of Sacred Games and Mirzapur, the Hindi region of the Ott space was filled with all kinds of episodic crime dramas. Off the top of my head, we got Delhi Crime, Hasmukh, Your Honor, Undekhi, Flesh, Aashram, A Simple Murder, Dark 7 White, and more. Paatal Lok managed to stand out, but since it was backed by an insanely talented star cast and a team of brilliant directors and writers, its success didn’t come off as a surprise. But the crime drama show that floored me was Mithya. Sure, it had stellar actors like Huma Qureshi and Parambrata Chatterjee in it and was being helmed by Rohan Sippy. However, everything depended on a newcomer, Avantika Dassani, and boy did she deliver in spades. The writing of her character was absolutely diabolical, and the cold way in which she went about the misty mountains of Darjeeling executing...

Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston will team up with Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone for Lone Wolf, a new action thriller. Cranston remains best known for his role as anti-hero Walter White in the acclaimed AMC drama Breaking Bad, which concluded in 2013. Gladstone, meanwhile, had her breakout last year with Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards.
Deadline now reports that Cranston and Gladstone will star together in Lone Wolf, an action-thriller to be directed by Mark Pellington (Arlington Road). Tom Chilcoat wrote the script for the film, which will feature Gladstone as a troubled combat veteran recruited by Cranston's contractor character for a covert plot to assassinate a politician. After realizing that it was a set-up, Gladstone's character must take on shadow agents in order to protect her son. Pellington describes the film as a "character-based thriller.
