Marvel Studios’ upcoming team-up movie, Thunderbolts*, will now do battle with an action thriller from the director behind the likes of The Grey and The A-Team, Joe Carnahan, as his story of a shady special forces team known as Shadow Force gets a release date. Shadow Force will now land in theaters on the same day as The Thunderbolts, May 2, 2025, meaning audiences will have two action outings to enjoy on the big screen this summer season.

Led by Kerry Washington and Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Shadow Force “follows the duo who once were the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love and go underground in order to protect their son. With a large bounty on their heads, and the vengeful Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war.”

The film has been in theatres for a month now and has already achieved more than expected. Right from the opening day, it started earning fantastic numbers, and yesterday, it unleashed another major milestone at the worldwide box office. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the Tollywood entertainer released alongside two major films, Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj. The other two films opened strongly but lost their steam immediately. On the other side, this Venkatesh starrer enjoyed terrific numbers even after the Sankranti holidays. With positive word-of-mouth, it remained consistent at ticket windows.

As per the latest update, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has amassed a staggering 181.95 crore net at the Indian box office, as per Sacnilk.

The actor has set a new three-episode docuseries at the Fox News-owned streaming platform, something of a sequel to his 2022 project Yellowstone One Fifty.

The new series is called Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner, and will see the Oscar winner retrace the 1903 Yosemite expedition of Teddy Roosevelt and environmental advocate John Muir through the American west.

The first episode debuts Feb. 8, and will kick off what Fox Nation is calling its “America 250” campaign, which will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country next year.

It was a very quiet weekend at the box office as January 2025 is getting off to a mighty slow start. The entire first half of 2024 was pretty brutal, but at least January had hits like "The Beekeeper" and "Mean Girls" to help carry the load. No such breakouts have emerged yet this year, but hey, something has to top the charts even when we're looking at the ticket sales equivalent of tumbleweeds. Director Mel Gibson's new thriller "Flight Risk" was that film this past weekend, taking the crown with an estimated $12 million haul. With that, Gibson now has his first number one hit in nearly 20 years.

Any weekend in which a movie manages to take the top spot with $12 million is pretty rough, which we should state right up front. Setting that aside, Lionsgate gets to claim it has the number one movie in the country, albeit for a brief time.

Andrew Garfield learned a lot from Mel Gibson on the set of 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge and says the filmmaker should continue making films.

The We Live In Time actor, who is Jewish, feels that everyone deserves opportunities to grow and learn from their past mistakes, including Gibson following his antisemitic comments.

“I learned a lot, actually. I learned that people can heal. I learned that people can change, that people can get help,” Garfield said about working with Gibson. “I learned that everyone deserves respect. And that people deserve second chances, third chances, fourth chances. That none of us are infallible.”

Garfield noted that Gibson has “done a lot of beautiful healing with himself,” adding, “And thank God. Because he’s an amazing filmmaker, and I think he deserves to make films. He deserves to tell stories, because he has a very, very big, compassionate heart.”

Earlier this week, Sasha Calle, who played Supergirl in The Flash, and singer/songwriter Teyana Taylor, who starred in the drama A Thousand and One, joined the cast. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that two more actors have signed on to appear in the film: Catalina Sandino Moreno of the MGM+ series From and Néstor Carbonell, who was recently seen on the FX / Hulu series Shōgun.

Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke and former NFL star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski have nabbed starring roles in writer/director Tom DeNucci’s sports comedy The Roaring Game.

Also joining the Verdi Productions pic, that just wrapped production, in key roles is William Forsythe (The Devil Rejects) and Vanessa Angel (Kingpin). The Roaring Game centers on Rickey, a high school janitor who loses everything when his girlfriend, Kelly, is selected to play hockey for Team USA and compete in the World Games.

To win her back, Rickey creates a misfit curling team and uses his sweeping skills to compete for gold and complete a comic quest for redemption that captivates the nation.

It started with the social media speculation. “Natty or Not?” people asked, questioning whether Hugh Jackman could possibly have avoided taking steroids to produce the eye-popping physique on display in “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Being “natty” — meaning, natural — seemed important to Jackman, 55, who has repeatedly denied using any chemical or hormone enhancements to create the gleaming sharp cuts in his abdomen, and the veins rippling around his muscled arms as “Wolverine.”

The Internet, as usual, was skeptical.

“Steroids. It’s steroids,” influencer Noam Blum wrote on X. “I don’t know why everyone still insists on this weird industry-wide denial. It’s fine. This isn’t a professional sports competition. Steroids aren’t illegal. They all do it with steroids.”

Blum’s reply had 26.4 million views as of Wednesday.

Wolverine is a superhero and needs to look like one. But Jackman was dramatically less ripped when he first played the character in 2000’s “X-Men.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon team up for Netflix's crime thriller Rip, produced by their studio Artists Equity. Joe Carnahan, known for directing crime thrillers, will helm the film and co-write the script with Michael McGrale. Rip marks the duo's return to their working partnership, which began with their Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting.

When Ben Affleck and Matt Damon team up for a film, it usually means big box office, critical acclaim, and Academy Awards. Now, the A-list duo is taking their talents to Netflix for their next film. In an exclusive report from Deadline, Netflix has acquired the rights to Rip, a crime thriller that both Damon and Affleck will headline.

Reports surfaced in June that Rip was being shopped around to studios and streamers, and it appears Netflix won the bidding war just before the July 4 holiday. Damon and Affleck's Artists Equity studio is producing the film.

The next team up for one of Hollywood's most talented duos has officially found its home. A new report from Deadline which was later confirmed by the Netflix X account revealed that Rip, the crime thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, will stream on Netflix. The film comes from Artists Equity, Damon and Affleck's production company, and will be written and directed by Joe Carnahan. Carnahan is best known for his work writing and directing Smokin' Aces and The A-Team, but he has also directed Liam Neeson in The Grey, helmed several episodes of the James Spader-led TV show The Blacklist, and even teamed up with Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson, and Michelle Yeoh in Boss Level, the 2020 dark action comedy film.

Since Superman arrived in his hometown, downtown Cleveland, for the filming of the first major Dcu release, there have been several on-set images that have been floating over the internet. This has led to fans finally getting a glimpse at David Corenswet’s Superman suit in proper lightning.

But apart from getting a peek at the new suit, which sees the return of the iconic trunks, the new reveals from the set also confirm the inclusion of The Winter Soldier star Frank Grillo. While Grillo is set to voice Rick Flag Sr. in the first Dcu release, following these new leaks, it’s clear he’ll make his live-action Dcu debut in Superman.
