Sheldon tells to his family that the high-school is not providing knowledge to him and his pen-pal, Dr. John Sturgis, has invited him to watch his classes at the university as a non-degree student. Meemaw drives Sheldon to the university, and Dr. Sturgis hits on her and invites her to have dinner. Sheldon becomes excited with the idea that Meemaw could get married to Dr. Sturgis and double the number of intelligent people in the Cooper family.
"Gluons, Guacamole, and the Color Purple" is an awesome episode of "Young Sheldon". The flirt and date of Dr. Sturgis and Meemaw, with Sheldon acting like Cupid, is hilarious. He gives Meemaw's preferences to help the old scientist to conquer his grandmother. Sheldon telling Mary that he is happy with the possibility to have the second intelligent person in the family is hilarious. The interaction of Georgie and Missy studying and preparing her homework in this episode is the sweet part of the show. My vote is eight.

This is another fun and charming episode of the 'Big Bang Theory' spin-off/prequel (it's probably a bit of a mix of both actually), that fleshes out the Sheldon and Mee-Maw relationship, and the latter character particularly in a bit more depth.
The writers have done such a good job with this show, surrounding the younger version of Sheldon Cooper with characters we want to spend time with and engage with. This is crucial as the show moves forward.
I thought this episode had a lot of charm and heart about it, and that does go a long way to enjoyment in my book.
I hope the series continues in this style.
