Following a movie about a rampaging, coke-fueled bear was never going to be easy, but Cocaine Bear writer Jimmy Warden is giving it his best shot with the comic thriller Borderline (out now), which he also directed. A twisted look at the dark side of fame, it stars Samara Weaving, Warden’s wife, as a Nineties pop star who has to fend off a sociopathic stalker who’s convinced he and the object of his obsession are meant to be married.
“Jimmy’s brain is my favorite thing,” Weaving says.

There’s just something about two horror icons working together that fills our hearts with glee. While their upcoming pairing may not be a guts-and-bloods-filled slasher (hopefully in the future!), we’re still stoked to see what Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) and Kyle Gallner (Strange Darling) have in store for us when Adam Carter Rehmeier’s (Dinner in America) feature, Carolina Caroline, eventually arrives in theaters. In the romantic crime drama, which also features performances from Kyra Sedgwick (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Jon Gries (The White Lotus), Gallner and Weaving star as a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde — bending all the rules and making the world their own while conning folks out of money along the way.

Like fellow feature-length filmmakers such as Mike Flanagan and Martin Scorsese, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (known collectively as Radio Silence) love a good repeat casting. The pair frequently sign on collaborators from previous projects, like Ready or Not’s Samara Weaving making a far-too-brief appearance in Scream VI or Scream and Scream VI’s Melissa Barrera popping into the duo’s follow-up vampire flick, Abigail. Now that the team is heading off to make the long-awaited Ready or Not sequel, we know that not only will Weaving reprise her leading role as Grace, but that Abigail alum, Kathryn Newton, will also join the cast.

While we now know them as the duo behind modern horror classics like the fifth and sixth installments in the Scream franchise and the Universal vampire flick, Abigail, back in 2019, the filmmaking team, Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, were still relatively flying under the radar. All that would change with the release of the pair’s horror-comedy, Ready or Not, which also bolstered the career of its leading lady, Samara Weaving. Since Weaving’s character, Grace, survived a bloody and trauma-inducing night at the hands of her new hubby’s sadistic family, audiences have been eager for a follow-up. Finally, after years of speculation and patience, Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin recently revealed that Ready or Not 2 was in the works.

Here’s some news that we know everybody will want. Today, Netflix has announced that the second season of their hit romantic comedy, Nobody Wants This, is officially in production. Sharing the news on their socials, the streamer posted an image of the two leading stars — Adam Brody (Ready or Not) and Kristen Bell (The Good Place) — getting cozy. The picture sees the pair in full relaxation mode, with Brody’s Noah lounging on the couch with Bell’s Joanne lying on top of him. The couple is all smiles and look to be doing their very own incredibly wholesome Netflix and chill. A clapper board marks where the team is at with filming, with this particular episode under the watchful eye of director, Hannah Fidell, and cinematographer, Wes Cardino.

Radio Silence will be reuniting with Kathryn Newton for the upcoming sequel to Ready Or Not, Ready Or Not 2. More right here.
Kathryn Newton will once again be teaming up with filmmaking collective Radio Silence, this time on their horror sequel Ready Or Not 2. The Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania actor previously collaborated with the directing duo on last year’s Universal horror movie Abigail. Back in October, we shared the very exciting if ever so slightly head-frazzling news that Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin's 2019 horror-comedy Ready Or Not has a sequel in the works at Searchlight Pictures, with star Samara Weaving set to return as shotgun-toting final girl Grace. Since then, it's been pretty much radio silence from the Radio Silence boys as they tinker away at their latest chiller — until now. Per Deadline's reporting, the horror movie maestros are set to reteam with Abigail star Kathryn Newton on Ready Or Not 2.

Kathryn Newton is shining her scream queen crown as we speak, preparing to join Samara Weaving in the upcoming Ready or Not sequel!
Deadline reports that the actress is set to re-team with Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who directed Newton previously in last year's vampire horror film Abigail. Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett also directed Ready or Not and other popular recent horror movies like Scream 5 and Scream 6.
Released in 2019, the first Ready or Not was an absolute blast of a movie. It did very well at the box office, grossing over $57.6 million on a $6 million budget and it was heavily praised by critics and audiences alike. Ready or Not helped catapult Weaving into the realm of modern-day scream queens and she's appeared in several since (including getting the coveted opening kill in Scream 6). Next she'll star in the comedy thriller Borderline with Ray Nicholson.

One of the better horror comedies of the past few years, Ready or Not was a hit with audiences when it released in theaters in 2019. Fans have anxiously anticipated updates on a Ready or Not 2 for several years, but the project was a slow-moving process despite the original's success. Made with a $6 million budget, it grossed $58 million worldwide, a major win for the relatively small production, so it's not a shocker that a sequel was eventually greenlit. However, the time has finally come for some progress, and another rising horror star has been added to the mix to lead the new Ready or Not alongside Samara Weaving.
Deadline reports that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Kathryn Newton has joined the cast of the Ready or Not sequel, which will once again feature Weaving in the lead role. No stranger to the genre, Newton reunites with Radio Silence after previously starring in 2024's Abigail.

Six years ago, genre regular Samara Weaving starred in a very cool horror comedy called Ready or Not, which was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who went on to make the two most recent Scream sequels and the “Dracula’s daughter” movie Abigail. Last year, it was announced that a sequel is now moving forward – and while Escape Room director Adam Robitel was attached to take the helm of Ready or Not 2 when it was first announced, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett have since stepped up to direct the sequel, which they have promised will be “an absolute banger.” Wearing is returning for the follow-up, and Deadline has broken the news that she’s being joined in the cast by Kathryn Newton, who previously worked with the directors on Abigail.

Through her roles in titles like The Babysitter, Ready or Not and Azrael, Samara Weaving has defined herself as one of the best modern horror actresses. Soon, she’ll be doing it all over again in Jimmy Warden’s directorial debut, Borderline. Today, the debut trailer for the film has been released, teasing the Scream VI’s actress’ latest dip into the pulse-pounding world of horror, this time angled with a thriller and comedy twist that will drum up memories of Rob Reiner’s 1990 adaptation of the Stephen King classic, Misery. Ready Or Not directors Radio Silence are to pivot from horror to biopic with a film about eccentric radio host, Art Bell. Paul Giamatti is to star.
According to a new report, several studios are vying for the next project from Radio Silence, the horror filmmakers who brought us Ready Or Not, Scream VI and Abigail. The directing duo – individually known as Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – have so far cut their teeth in the horror genre, but their next feature will instead centre around the life of the late Art Bell. He was a legendary American radio host who would take calls from eccentrics nationwide; every night you’d get odd stories from callers who claimed they were victims of alien abductions, conspiracy theories, supernatural entities or other oddities.

From Ghostface to a paranormal DJ? Deadline reports that the filmmaking team known as Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) are teaming up with Paul Giamatti for a biopic about the late Art Bell. Best known as the founder and original host of Coast to Coast Am, Bell would field unscreened calls from all sorts of people, listening to stories of alien abduction, conspiracy theories, strange creatures, and just about everything you could imagine.
According to Deadline, several studios, including Universal, Amazon, and Warner Bros., are bidding on the Art Bell biopic. Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves are writing the script. This is a bit of a different project from the team that has given us Ready or Not, Abigail, and two Scream movies, but it has the potential to be quite interesting. Plus, I could watch Paul Giamatti do just about anything.

The pitch is a biopic about the late paranormal DJ Art Bell, who would broadcast his radio show from his home studio 65 miles west of Las Vegas, fielding unscreened telephone calls in a five-hour show on Knye-fm called Coast to Coast.
Guests would offer up eyewitness stories on Bell’s show about alien counters, past lives, time travel and more X-File-like situations. His 2018 New York Times obit noted that Bell claimed he and his wife spotted a “150-foot-long triangular craft” above their car one night before it disappeared.
In Coast to Coast‘s heyday in the 1990s, it would pull in around 10 million listeners.

Radio Silence, the horror filmmaking banner known for reviving the Scream franchise, has signed with CAA.
The banner was previously at UTA.
Radio Silence, comprised of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, most recently directed Universal’s 2024 vampire thriller Abigail. Producer Chad Villella is no longer with the outfit.
Radio Silence made segments of horror anthologies V/H/S and Southbound, delivering their feature debut with the supernatural horror movie Devil’s Due, which bowed in 2014 and grossed nearly $37 million on a $7 million budget But it was their 2019 black horror comedy Ready or Not that became a breakthrough hit, grossing more than $57 million on a budget of around $6 million.
That led the team to tackle a resuscitation of the Scream franchise, first with Scream, in 2022, and then Scream VI in 2023. The movies starred Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. The duo departed the franchise in order to make Abigail, which starred Barrera,...

Andie MacDowell is opening up about her health.

Keep reading to find out more…“I have piriformis syndrome, so it’s a muscle that kind of clamps down on my sciatic nerve, and it was shooting down my leg,” Andie shared.
“I thought I was going to have to have hip replacement, thank God, my hips are fine,” she added.
While insisting that she’s working on improving her health, Andie said, “I have to work my tiny little bottom and my hips. I have to work the bottom and work my hip. I just do it every day,” adding that it “doesn’t hurt anymore,” which she says is “a miracle.

Ready or Not's ending reveals the complex rules of the celebrated horror film's deadly game of hide-and-seek. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Devil's Due), Ready or Not stars Samara Weaving as Grace, a beautiful bride marrying into the fabulously wealthy Le Domas family. Immediately after saying "I do", Grace learns from her new husband Alex (Mark O'Brien) that she must play a game at midnight as part of their eccentric tradition for anyone new joining the family.
A gleefully entertaining black comedy crossed with gruesome survival horror, Ready or Not is layered with a complex set of rules and mythology that is revealed throughout Grace's ordeal with her in-laws from hell. According to the Le Domas dynasty, Grace must survive the night to gain acceptance into the family — as if she would still want to be a part of it after her nightmarish post-wedding ordeal. The sadistic...

In “Blink Twice” (2024), billionaire tech mogul Slater King (Channing Tatum) invites nail artist/cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackle) to join him and his friends for a dream vacation on his private island. As unsettling events begin to unfold, Frida is forced to unravel the island’s dark secrets if she hopes to survive. The movie’s spoiler-heavy trailer gave the impression of an “elevated” psychological horror, tapping into the social commentary thriller market of films like “Get Out” (2017), “The Menu” (2022), “Ready or Not” (2019), and “Glass Onion” (2022). Either way, it felt like a promising directing debut for Zoë Kravitz, and I was at the very least sold.

In our present Jeffrey Epstein/P Diddy ethos, the timing and urgency of “Blink Twice” feel all the more real and disturbing. In an interview leading up to the film’s release, Kravitz admitted that she began writing the script...

Warning! Spoilers about Virgin River season 6, episode 10 ahead.
The soundtrack of Virgin River season 6 includes iconic songs and less prominent ones that fully capture the themes and atmosphere of the emotional drama romance. Taking off months after the two-part Christmas special that comprised the last two episodes of season 5, Virgin River season 6 kicked off in the midst of the planning for Mel and Jack’s wedding. The major event guaranteed small and bigger bumps in the road related to its organization and the bigger problems the joyful town of Virgin River’s characters found themselves facing, including illnesses, daring saves, problems with the law and budding relationships.
With Virgin River season 5 introducing the surprise of Mel’s biological father hailing from Virgin River, a major storyline in season 6 involved the two getting to know each other, and music played an important part because of Everett’s hobby and his unfinished song for Sarah,...

“Virgin River” is all about the ambiance. The cozy romance transports viewers to a tight-knit community tucked away in the scenic town of Virgin River, but the sounds are just as important as the sights in setting that scene. Especially in Season 6!
Netflix’s “Virgin River” always sets its scenes to a soundtrack full of folksy melodies and gentle acoustics, but Season 6 puts music front and center in the love story between Mel’s biological parents, which transports viewers back to Virgin River in the ’70s when her father was an aspiring musician. It even prominently features an original song by The Lumineers’ Wesley Schultz titled “This Heart of Mine.”
It’s a jam-packed soundtrack as usual, so if you’re trying to keep track of the needle drops, here’s a handy guide to all the songs in “Virgin River” Season 6.

Casting announcements for the upcoming horror film Scream 7 are coming in quickly! The latest to join the cast is Hysteria! star Anna Camp, and we're curious about who she will be playing in the new movie. Unfortunately, character details are being kept secret, but this isn't surprising, as most of the previous casting announcements didn't include character details either.
Camp's casting comes just a day after the announcement that Mason Gooding would be reprising his role as Chad Meeks-Martin from Scream (2022) and Scream VI in the seventh installment. Also joining the cast in new roles are Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Celeste O’Connor (Madame Web), and Sam Rechner (The Fabelmans).
Neve Campbell, who portrayed Sidney Prescott in the first five Scream movies, returns in this iconic role for Scream 7. In addition, Isabel May (1923) will play Sidney's daughter in the film. Plot details are being kept confidential,...

Radio Silence, the filmmaking team behind Ready or Not, Abigail, and the two most recent Scream sequels, are gearing up to go into production on Ready or Not 2 – but while Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are directing that sequel and producing it with Chad Villella, the trio are also producing a feature expansion of Colleen McGuinness’ short film Loser. Deadline reports that Angourie Rice, who also starred in the short, is set to star in the Loser feature alongside Ella Purnell (Fallout), Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), and Lukas Gage (The White Lotus).
Details on the characters being played by Purnell, Bennett, and Gage have not been revealed, but we know that Rice will be playing Alice, a brilliant but troubled physicist, as she attempts to heal her trauma by using time travel, but gets caught in a twisty, cat-and-mouse game of murder and violence in New York City.

The Lonely Island‘s Jorma Taccone is in good company for his next directorial project as Ben Schwartz and Sam Rockwell board the upcoming Searchlight comedy DNA. News about Taccone joining DNA as the film’s director and producer comes after he recently launched production in Finland for The Trip, an upcoming thriller starring Jason Segel and Samara Weaving.
Plot details for DNA remain a mystery, though we know Schwartz sold the concept to Searchlight in 2020. Schwartz wrote the script, while Ali Bell, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Taccone produced through their Party Over Here studio. Rockwell gets in on the action as an executive producer alongside Schwartz.
Taconne’s other directorial efforts include shorts and music videos for The Lonely Island, Parks and Recreation, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Miracle Workers, The Last O.G., and Paramount’s Knuckles series. His upcoming thriller, The Trip, revolves around a troubled couple who visit an isolated cabin.

If you haven’t gotten around to watching the 2022 Scream sequel (the one simply called Scream) but still want to avoid Spoilers, you should turn away. Do not continue reading! But if you have already seen the movie or haven’t been avoiding spoilers, you probably know by now that Mikey Madison of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and this year’s critically acclaimed Anora was not only one of the film’s Ghostface-mask-wearing killers, but her character was even responsible for killing off the fan favorite character of Dewey Riley, played by David Arquette. Dewey survived (sometimes barely) four full Scream movies, but when he crossed paths with Mikey Madison in the fifth film, that was it for him. And in an interview with Collider, Madison has apologized for her character’s actions.

Netflix's new Christmas movie with a Magic Mike twist has become their No. 1 film just days after its release. Since 2017, the streaming service has been producing original Christmas movies, starting with A Christmas Prince. Over the years, the streaming platform has established itself as a top destination for holiday films, including The Princess Switch starring Vanessa Hudgens, and The Christmas Chronicles starring Kurt Russell, both in 2018. Last year, one of Netflix's most popular holiday movies was Best. Christmas. Ever!.
In 2024, several of Netflix's Christmas movies have already topped their Global Top 10 chart for the past three weeks. In the first full week of November, Meet Me Next Christmas ranked first on Netflix's Global Top 10 films with 18.1 million views, followed by Lacey Chabert's Hot Frosty the following week with 16 million views. Christmas movies on Netflix are already hot — not frosty.
The streamer’s latest Global Top 10 list included three Christmas movies: Chad Michael Murray and Britt Robertson film “The Merry Gentlemen” debuting at No. 1, “Hot Frosty” slipping to number 2, and “Meet Me Next Christmas” with Christina Millian charting seventh in its third week on the list.
Forget Christmas — it’s not even Thanksgiving.
“The Merry Gentlemen” had 14.7 million views in the week of November 18, according to Netflix, while “Hot Frosty” with Lacey Chabert and Dustin Milligan had 12.7 million (it had 16 million views in its debut). “Meet Me Next Christmas” had 5.9 million views last week.
On the TV side, the new Mike Schur show “A Man on the Inside” starring Ted Danson crammed a lump of coal down “Arcane’s” chimney. “A Man on the Inside” debuted at number 1 with 6.9 million views, denying “Arcane” Season 2 the top spot. (The second “Arcane” season...

The first half of 2024 was pretty unkind to a lot of movies. The box office was on life support for most of that period and it all felt kind of bleak for anyone who pays attention to such things. The most depressing part was that quite a few great movies were being hung out to dry, including "The Fall Guy" and "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," among others. "Abigail," the latest horror movie from the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence, was also a big disappointment theatrically. Fortunately though, it's finally finding its audience.

Since then, the streaming service has solidified its reputation as a go-to platform for holiday films with titles like The Princess Switch starring Vanessa Hudgens, The Christmas Chronicles starring Kurt Russell, and Klaus, an Oscar-nominated animated movie, exemplifying the diversity of Netflix's Christmas movie catalog.
In 2024, Netflix already had the holiday romantic comedy, Meet Me Next Christmas, top its Global Top 10 chart for the week of November 410 with over 18 million views. The holiday season is just beginning, so there should be plenty more Christmas movies appearing on Netflix's global chart before the year's end. This includes Netflix's new romantic comedy Christmas movie starring Lacey Chabert, a frequent star of Hallmark's Christmas movies, which has become the streaming service's new No.
