The cast of Lee Cronin's The Mummy is slowly starting to unwrap, with Laia Costa becoming the latest addition to the ensemble that will give rise to the reboot. Laia Costa has joined Jack Reynor in The Mummy, a new take by writer-director Lee Cronin.

New Line Cinema is behind the feature that has horror powerhouses Atomic Monster and Blumhouse producing. Doppelgängers, the banner run by Cronin, is also producing. Cronin previously made horror hit Evil Dead Rise for New Line.

Production begins this week in Ireland. Mummy is set for an April 17, 2026 release.

Plot details are being kept in the sarcophagus but it is understood that Costa and Reynor are playing a married couple, who along with their daughter, cross paths with mummy dearest.

In December, Cronin told THR that. “This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before. I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”

Doctor Who's Russell T Davies has addressed plans for who will succeed him as showrunner in the future, explaining "conversations" are already underway. Davies served as the original showrunner for the sci-fi series' revival in 2005, overseeing the seasons starring Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor and David Tennant's Tenth Doctor. He returned to his role starting with the 2023 60th anniversary episodes prior to season 14, and retained his role into the upcoming Doctor Who season 15. Speaking with Tennant himself on his podcast David Tennant Does a Podcast With… (via Radio Times), Davies confirmed he would not return to Doctor Who "a third time" after his current stint as showrunner. A new Doctor Who spin-off series is coming, and has just concluded filming, meaning that a release date can't be too far away. Helmed by showrunner Russell T. Davies, The War Between the Land and the Sea will follow the events of a multinational war caused by the return of the Sea Devils, a villain that was most recently featured in a special episode featuring the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker).

With an ensemble cast including Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Russell Tovey (Being Human), and George Robinson (Sex Education), The War Between the Land and the Sea was first announced at the San Diego Comic Con in July. Now, after just a few short months — including 80 total days of filming — filming has officially wrapped. Davies revealed the exciting news himself in a selfie on Instagram, which he captioned: "That’s a wrap! The War Between The Land And The Sea ends its shoot today after 80 days!

At the end of Peacock's Those About to Die episode 1, there's a title card dedication to someone named Gianluca Bombardone, and the story behind it is sad. Those About to Die and its cast of characters follow multiple plot lines. One follows Tenax (Iwan Rheon), a master of the criminal underground and businessman bent on bettering his plebian lot in life. Another follows Cala (Sara Martins) and her children, a Nubian family who become enslaved as servants and gladiators. Still another follows the battle of Titus (Tom Hughes) and Domitian (Jojo Macari), two brothers vying for their father's throne.

Apparently Patrick Dempsey really enjoys playing police detectives in the horror genre. The actor best known for playing neurosurgeon Derek Shepherd for 11 seasons on Grey's Anatomy is stepping into a police uniform again for the upcoming Dexter prequel series Original Sin.

Variety reports that he'll play series regular Captain Aaron Spencer of Miami Metro Homicide. Spencer shares an important connection to Dexter's adoptive father, Harry Morgan, who will be played by Christian Slater. The press release only described their relationship as one that has spanned several decades but doesn't elaborate on whether it's friendly or antagonistic in nature.

Williams will play Daniel De Luca, a half-Italian former U.S. marine who returns to Italy, his childhood home, as a fixer in a luxury hotel where one of the owner’s daughters disappears. He must find her and bring her home, while sorting the ever-changing problems of the exclusive hotel guests.

Among the 16 titles are European six-parter Eurovision Murder Mystery, which is from France’s Apc Stories and Germany’s Friday Film. Plot details were thin, but synopsis reads: “When you have 72 hours to solve a murder, save Eurovision and the fate of Europe. Fabienne Hurst and Bertrand Soulier are writing.

Vatican, from Italy’s Fabula Pictures, follows a father investigating the suspicious death of his only son. he discovers his child was involved in a prostitution ring inside the church used by unscrupulous bishops to control the Vatican policy. Fifteen of the 16 Series Mania titles were previously unannounced for the event, which takes place on March 19 as part of the Series Mania Forum.

International TV giant, Fremantle has bought a majority stake Beach House Pictures, one of Asia’s busiest independent TV and Film production companies.

Headed by Donovan Chan and Jocelyn Little, Beach House has previously been partly owned by Canada’s Blue Ant Media group. While deal terms of the new transaction have not been disclosed, it was announced that Blue Ant has sold all of its stake.

Beach House works across both film and TV, scripted and non-scripted genres and has a wide pan-Asian reach, including China and India. It is also pioneering brand-funded programming for regional and international platforms.

Directed by Kim Jae-hoon, the Korean body-swap serial killer thriller “Devils” will be streaming in the US on Screambox from December 5th, 2023.

The film stars Jang Dong-yoon (“Project Wolf Hunting”), Oh Dae-hwan (“Veteran”), Jang Jae-ho and Choi Gwi-hwa (“Project Wolf Hunting”).

Synopsis: A detective, who lost his partner while investigating a case years ago, has been on the trail to catch the serial killer ever since. As he dives headfirst into hunting the brutal killer, the detective finally comes face-to-face with the murderer. In the heat of the chase, they get into an accident, and upon waking up in a hospital the detective realizes his body has been switched with that of the murderer.

The concept of body swapping is so fluid that it fits into every possible movie genre. It sounds ludicrous on paper, but you can’t ignore the pulpy charm of it. Director Kim Jae Hoon’s latest Korean thriller, Devils, plays the audience, or rather deceives them, thanks to their affinity for this particular concept. Body swapping is introduced as the primary tool to move the narrative forward until you get to the big reveal. How you perceive things after the reveal determines whether or not the movie works for you. I thought it was quite gimmicky. I am not saying the idea was bad, but the execution of it is hasty and bland. A little bit of polish in the screenplay and editing could have saved it by bringing much-needed flair, but sadly, things didn’t go that way.
