Disney’s live-action “Snow White” is here, taking the 1937 animated film into the real world, dwarves and all.
Although technically, in this version, they aren’t dwarves. As explained in the movie, they’re magical creatures that have lived in the woods for hundreds of years. That said, they still take on the names of the original seven dwarves.
And of course, there are some recognizable humans on screen as well as lending their voices to the merry bunch.
So, here are all the faces — and voices — you’ll need to know.

In the late 2010s, if you needed a leading man for a brains-off action/adventure movie, you called one person: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's agent. For a solid 5 years, The Rock was a fixture of movies that, at one time, would have been the perfect "sick on a Saturday" TNT rock block of entertainment. One of these popcorn flicks is 2018's Skyscraper, which is currently climbing the streaming charts. Skyscraper finds Johnson starring as Will Sawyer, a former FBI agent and amputee who, after injuries sustained while on a hostage rescue mission, becomes a security consultant for high-rise buildings. After terrorists capture the tallest building in the world in Hong Kong and try and extort its developer, Sawyer must rescue his family, who are trapped inside the burning structure.

There exists a core index within the category of A-list actors that contains those who have navigated the industry for their whole career without being mired in a single scandal or controversy. Hollywood respects that index and fortunately for the fans, Sandra Bullock belongs to that core category.

It is only in Hollywood’s nature to take advantage of the fact and make a film out of it. However, there is a shortage of originality in the industry, making it difficult for fans to relate to films recently. With Ryan Reynolds scoring big with his latest Marvel venture, he can bring back that essence of theatergoing fun by bringing back a character from the past alongside Sandra Bullock.

Netflix continues to be a go-to destination for movies and TV shows for many streaming service users. In addition to having plenty of licensed content, Netflix also boasts a healthy library of original movies and TV shows that continues to grow with each passing year. Major hits from past years include movies like Damsel (2024), The Gray Man (2022), and The Adam Project (2022), as well as TV shows like Wednesday (2022–), Stranger Things (2016–), and Bridgerton (2020–).
2021 saw the release of Adam McKay's Don't Look Up, a comedy about a planet-killing comet heading straight for Earth. The Netflix film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, and Jonah Hill, earned somewhat mixed reviews but became a massive viewership success. Don't Look Up previously ranked as the second most popular movie of all time on Netflix behind Red Notice (2021), but a newer movie has now just taken its spot.

The first time Gal Gadot visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame almost two decades ago, she had a premonition of her future in entertainment. “Between Madame Tussauds and the Hollywood stars, I remember walking there for the first time when I was 23 and seeing people dressed like superheroes,” she remembers. “And they had Wonder Woman there!”
On March 18, Gadot will be there again, and this time she’ll receive her own star. But even after donning Wonder Woman’s red, black and gold costume multiple times on film — amid delivering a dozen other movie-star turns — the Israeli-born actress seems no less gobsmacked at the prospect of being immortalized by the honor. “I think that it’s going to take me time before I even realize that it’s real,” she tells Variety. “I don’t think that ever in my life I would dream to be able to go through...

Netflix continues to fight the good fight for no-nonsense action movie magic, with the streaming giant having now revealed the release date for what could easily be their next action thriller smash hit. Now all set to be unleashed next month, Exterritorial sounds like it could be the next Taken, as a former Special Forces soldier is forced to resurrect her particular set of kills after her son mysteriously goes missing.
According to Netflix, the German action outing, which has been made in conjunction with Constantin Television (Dear Child), is due to be released on the streamer on April 30, 2025. Written and directed by Christian Zübert, Exterritorial promises to be as gripping as Liam Neeson’s action movie magnum opus, and you can check out the official synopsis for Exterritorial below.
“On a visit to the US consulate in Frankfurt, the young son of former Special Forces soldier Sara (Jeanne Goursaud) suddenly disappears without a trace.

Hollywood has seen a lot of drama and feuds igniting between actors for numerous reasons, with a lot of them stemming from the sets of the masterpieces they help curate. Turns out, the co-stars of the upcoming iteration of Snow White, Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler, haven’t been spared from being embroiled in the same misery either.

Apparently, while the two have been busy promoting their upcoming movie together, tensions have sparked between the two co-stars, as per exclusive sources. And one of the biggest reasons behind the two being such a massively misfitting pairing behind the screens is reportedly their difference in political views.

Due to its huge popularity, professional wrestling has given birth to multiple crossover entertainment figures. Still, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Dwayne Johnson and John Cena are the most successful names in this trend.
These two WWE legends have proven how well their natural charm reaches outside professional wrestling boundaries. Initially rose to fame as “The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment,” Johnson’s path led him toward earning big checks in movie roles. Likewise, Cena began as “Dr. of Thuganomics” and then ascended to lead major blockbuster franchises.

The duo has also entered into multiple businesses combined with philanthropic work following their wrestling and film career success. Their transition from the WWE ring to the movie business has caused a significant boost in their net worth, unlike many of their peers.

There’s art, there’s entertainment — and then there’s “content,” the catch-all term that refers to the endless supply of stuff that is pumped out in the name of numbers and inventory. Art enlightens. Entertainment provides escapism. Content is simply there, clogging up the arteries of streaming services and clickbait sites, offering up buffets of empty calories and almost instant amnesia. It’s not interested in exploring the human experience, passing on public-service information, delighting, distracting, making you laugh, cry, or pump your fist in the air. It exists only to be consumed,...

Netflix viewers are urging science fiction fans to watch one of the streamer’s most underrated shows. The series, which boasts a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, is titled Pantheon, and tackles issues such as death, the overreach of technology, and what it means to be human. The animated series has tragically flown under the radar since it began back in 2022, but now, fans of the sci-fi drama are pushing to raise the profile of Pantheon, taking to social media to persuade streamers to add the series to their lists.
X/Twitter user @JasonKPargin started the push, saying, “Go watch Pantheon, the best show on streaming that nobody knows about.” Fellow user and fan @Jimbo_Zen was glad to see the show getting some attention, adding, “Yes! Glad some people are beginning to become aware of this show.”

The end of 2024 came with one of the biggest films for Netflix. In December, it premiered the critically acclaimed Carry-On, which has been continuously breaking records.
The thriller has a stellar cast led by Taron Egerton, Jason Bateman, Theo Rossi, and Danielle Deadwyler, and has been a major hit since its Dec. 13 release on the streaming service. The movie had the biggest debut for a film in 2024, and a month later, it had already hopped on Netflix's Most Popular Top 10 Movies in English. Per Tudum, Carry-On is now the second most-watched film on the platform.
The fact that Carry-On reached the prestigious Most Popular list was a huge achievement in itself. The action thriller debuted with 42 million views in its first week. It hit the Most Popular Top 10 list in fifth place with 149.4 million views after less than a week on the platform, and its numbers have continued growing.

Oppenheimer Netflix Debate (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s biopic of the legendary American atomic scientist, was one of the most acclaimed releases of 2024. The film released in proximity to Barbie, resulting in the Barbenheimer phenomenon that accelerated box office sales after theaters had suffered from a post-covid slump.
Oppenheimer’s director, Christopher Nolan, has been very open about his preference for theatrical releases and his disdain for the streaming-first release model, to the point of releasing Tenet to low box office returns right in the middle of the Covid pandemic. But that doesn’t mean the executives of streaming services like Netflix necessarily agree. In an interview with Puck News, Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria revealed that she believed Oppenheimer would’ve been very successful launching under Netflix.

Anthony and Joe Russo's new film "The Electric State" will arrive on Netflix on March 14, 2025 (you can watch the trailer here), and it comes with a lot of baggage. Adapted from a picture novel by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, "The Electric State" takes place in an alternate dystopian version of 1990s American where corporate mascots wander the landscape as intelligent robots. There was a recently-failed robot uprising, and now all the robotic mascots now wander a wasted, walled-off landscape, exiled from humanity. Millie Bobbie Brown plays Michelle, a young woman who has to venture into the robot wasteland in search of her long-lost brother.
The Russo brothers are perhaps best known for the work within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as they oversaw the blockbusters "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Captain America: Civil War," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: Endgame," one of the most successful films of all time. Margot Robbie leads the critically acclaimed Barbiemovie, and it features plenty of notable faces in the supporting cast as well. For the most part, the characters are directly inspired by toys that have been released over the years or are original Barbie movie characters. Of course, this means that the long-beloved Mattel toys Barbie and Ken are not just two people.
Instead, the Truman Show-esque Barbieland is populated with plenty of Barbies and Kens. Still, each character has its place in the story, and they all help make this version of Barbieland vibrant and memorable. Most of these characters are portrayed by familiar faces for fans to look for.

Five space explorers pilot a giant 'Super Robot' known as 'Voltron' in an adaptation of several Japanese anime television series from Toei Animation, that aired 1984-1985.
The first season featuring the "Lion Force Voltron", was adapted from the series "Beast King GoLion". The second season, featuring the "Vehicle Team Voltron", was adapted from the series "Armored Fleet Dairugger Xv".

Picture this: You’re on a blockbuster film set, working with two of the biggest stars in Hollywood. The cameras are rolling, the lights are blazing, and everything’s in place for a movie to remember. But wait—one of the lead actors is consistently showing up hours late, throwing a wrench into the gears of a tight schedule.
Frustration starts to bubble under the surface, and before long, things go from casual to explosive. This wasn’t a scene from Red Notice; it was the real-life drama between Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.

Subscribers to Netflix love such original thrillers as Carry-On and Rebel Ridge, it seems, with the films receiving even higher viewing numbers than Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
Netflix has released its viewership figures for the second half of 2024, and they provide a (possibly) interesting bit of insight into its subscribers’ tastes.
The most obvious take-away is that Netflix customers really like their thrillers; festive airport nailbiter Carry-On, starring Taron Edgerton, continues to be one of the most successful original films the streaming firm has released in years. Despite releasing right at the end of last year, it was still the platform’s most-watched movie with 137.3m views.
In January, Carry-On was Netflix’s fifth most-watched movie of all time. A few weeks on, and it’s climbed to the third position with a total of 169.2m views, placing it just behind Don’t Look Up (171.4m) and Red Notice (230.9m). Releasing a high-concept,...

Martin Scorsese has finally found his new movie, and he has assembled an eclectic cast that includes long-time collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio, 2024 Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Scorsese is one of the most acclaimed filmmakers ever to live, and since the release of Killers of the Flower Moon, he has been circling many projects. Fans wondered if the Sinatra biopic, a film centered on Jesus Christ, or the recently announced The Devil in the White City would be his next film. It turns out none of those projects are up next for Scorsese.
Deadline confirmed that Martin Scorsese will direct an untitled crime drama that follows a ruthless Hawaiian crime boss in the 1960s and '70s based on a real-life person who battled encroaching rivals in Hawaii for control of organized crime on the island. The action genre is widely popular, whether in theaters, streaming, or on TV. This is often proven in the Netflix charts, and Dylan Sprouse and Mason Gooding's latest action film doesn't disappoint.
Netflix has had a series of hit action original movies, including 2020's Extraction, 2021's Red Notice, which is Netflix's most popular film in the English language, and 2022's The Gray Man. However, not all films are Netflix originals, and Netflix has a lot of success with licensed action films, including Mission: Impossible, currently in the charts. Now a new hybrid released film, 2024's Aftermath, has become a hit globally, per Tudum.

Oppenheimer was a cinematic spectacle, and for many moviegoers, experiencing it on the big screen, especially in IMAX, was non-negotiable. Shot with IMAX cameras, the film was meticulously crafted for a larger-than-life viewing, and some even argued that watching it anywhere else would be a disservice to the movie itself.
Its overwhelming success not only solidified Christopher Nolan’s reputation as a filmmaker but many considered that the film also played a crucial role in drawing audiences back to theaters post-pandemic, proving that the traditional cinematic experience was far from dead.

As one of the most charming leading men currently in Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds has made a name for himself with his trademark wit and humor. The Canadian actor started his career in TV shows and comedy films before transitioning into big-budget blockbusters. Reynolds' popularity really peaked when he played Deadpool, making him an actor many people would go to the theater to see.
Reynolds' movies have garnered plenty of money at the box office, although some have been more successful than others. His latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine — a critically acclaimed movie that expands on the McU's multiverse — has become one of the highest-grossing superhero movies of all time. Even when the actor isn't featured on the big screen, he's guaranteed to make big numbers: his Netflix movie, Red Notice, set a record all-time viewership for Netflix. Netflix is experiencing a series of hits on its platform, with many releases becoming very popular. Since the beginning of the year, three titles have reached Netflix's Most Popular Lists.
One of its surprise hits is the French action thriller Ad Vitam. The series premiered on the platform on Jan. 10, 2025, and has been raking in major views since its release, dominating the non-English charts. The film's ongoing popularity led to Ad Vitam joining Netflix's Most Popular Non-English Movies list, per Tudum.

The Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin has fallen in and out of the industry’s radar ever since his debut as a child actor. He may be most famously known for playing the hobbit Samwise Gamgee in Peter Jackson’s live-action Lotr trilogy, but Astin’s career is far more enduring and remarkable than that.

Despite being a child star, Astin never faded out of the industry, instead building a career that was not only impressive but sustainable as well. Just two months ago, a red ribbon tied to a piece of luggage only meant one thing: your bag wouldn’t get lost in the sea of identical suitcases at baggage claim. That was a simpler time.
Thanks to “Carry-On,” Netflix’s high-octane Christmas Eve thriller starring Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, a simple ribbon has taken on an entirely new meaning. In the movie directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Egerton plays Ethan Kopek, a Tsa agent blackmailed by a ruthless bioterrorist into allowing his red-ribboned carry-on containing a lethal nerve agent to pass through the airport security checkpoint.
The first film out of Netflix’s creative partnership with Amblin was an instant hit for the streamer upon its release on Dec. 13, and has since become its third most-watched film ever (“Red Notice” and “Don’t Look Up” currently hold the top two spots).

“Squid Game” is coming back sooner than you may have expected. The third and final season of Netflix’s most popular series of all time will premiere on June 27, just six months after Season 2’s premiere.
The news was announced during the Next on Netflix event, the streamer’s press event that showcased its upcoming film and TV slate for 2025. The streamer also exclusively shared some first-look footage with those who attended. Without giving too much away, the clip showed the remaining blood-stained players being forced to play yet another game. This time around, the survivors were forced to split into two teams: red and blue.
Netflix also released several first-look photos from this upcoming season, one of which shows Hyun-ju (Park Sung-hoon) kneeling over a coffin and another which shows Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) handcuffed to a bed. Check out the new photos below:

There are some people who would have the world believe that Netflix is somehow on the backfoot in the current landscape of streaming, but it seems that, as the old saying goes, the stories of the industry giant's demise have been greatly exaggerated. To support that, the fourth quarter financial results for the platform saw a record-breaking 18.9 million new subscribers added to its already incredible volume, pushing the total subscriber number over 300 million.
There are certainly reasons why the last quarter would see a huge increase (the new subscribers made up almost half the 41 million that Netflix added during 2024), including the popular festive period, the arrival of juggernaut shows such as Squid Game Season 2, the broadcasting of sports events including Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s punch-up and NFL Christmas Day games, and movies like Taron Egerton’s Carry-On – now one of Netflix’s biggest ever films.

Cameron Diaz has made her acting return in Back in Action, leading viewers to wonder what other fun action films they can find her own. After over a decade without an appearance in any movies or TV series, Diaz leads Back in Action's cast alongside Jamie Foxx, delivering an action-comedy film combination that's trending in the top 10 despite its poor reviews. It's undoubtedly fun to see such an iconic star return to the scene after so many years away, but she's had better and more successful work in the genre to explore after the new release.
Cameron Diaz's best movies range from comedies like Bad Teacher to family movies like Shrek to critically acclaimed art films like Being John Malkovich. The 52-year-old actress isn't explicitly known for appearing in action movies, unlike someone like Tom Cruise or Arnold Schwarzenegger, but she's had a fair few in her stint as a movie star,...

Netflix’s 2021 apocalyptic sci-fi film Don’t Look Up is the second most-watched Netflix film of all time (behind 2021's Red Notice) and now its Oscar-winning director, Adam McKay is saying that the movie has grown more and more pertinent in today’s times. Per The Hollywood Reporter, McKay said viewers really “connected” to the movie and are more than three years after its release.
Don’t Look Up “tells the story of two low-level astronomers, who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet earth,” states the film’s logline. The movie garnered mixed reviews from critics when it was released and currently has a 56% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score, or Popcornmeter score is a more respectable 78%.

Netflix is cool with commercials now, but still not theaters. Well, unless it’s one of the two exhibition houses it owns: the Egyptian in Hollywood and the Paris in New York. But sometimes, you just have to give Greta Gerwig her way.
Around Christmas 2024, IMAX and Netflix struck a deal to distribute Gerwig’s upcoming “The Chronicles of Narnia” film adaptation exclusively on at least 1,000 IMAX screens worldwide, one month ahead of the movie’s streaming premiere. After 2-3 weeks on IMAX screens — depending on IMAX’s desire to extend the run — Netflix has the optionality to place “Narnia” in regular theatres. Either way, “Narnia” debuts on Netflix on Christmas Day 2026.
The agreement was many months of negotiations in the making, a person with knowledge of the deal told IndieWire. Gerwig always had her sights on wanting an IMAX — not just theatrical — release for “Narnia.” Three or four months ago,...

Plot: Two married former CIA spies (Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx) are pulled back into espionage when their former identities are exposed.
Review: There are two genres all of the streamers seem to be obsessed with: spy capers and heist movies. The super spy genre is an especially attractive one, as the plots can be thin, and old formulas can be recycled over and over again. As long as your stars are likeable and you have a decent director at the helm, spy flicks do their job as mindless entertainment. However, it’s worth noting that none of these streaming spy flicks have ever successfully launched a franchise, with most viewing movies like The Grey Man, The Mother, Heart of Stone or Ghosted as mediocre one-offs.

Back in Action has now debuted on Rotten Tomatoes, and the score marks a lackluster acting return for star Cameron Diaz. Directed by Seth Gordon, the Netflix action-comedy stars Diaz and Jamie Foxx as former CIA operatives Emily and Matt, respectively, as they are pulled back into the world of spycraft after their real identities are exposed. The film marks Diaz's return to acting after 10 years away from the spotlight, and the Back in Action reviews now making their way online are suggesting it might not be a triumphant one.

If you take a look at the last four years of Netflix original films set in the action genre, you’ll notice that they make two types of action movies. The first kind are those that have genuine passion behind them, bursting with creativity, and instantly memorable, while the second kind are those that feel like Netflix’s donation to the actors’ retirement fund. For example, in 2021, on one side you had Kate, and on the other side you had Red Notice. In 2022, we got both something as innovative as Lost Bullet 2 and something as disappointing as The Gray Man. For 2023, there was Ballerina to get your adrenaline pumping and Heart of Stone to bore you to sleep. 2024 was the year for stuff like 60 Minutes and City Hunter and also for garbage like Atlas and Damsel. But, regardless of the quality of these Netflix films, I realized that...

Back in Action is one of the most Netflix films out of all the Netflix films on Netflix. By this, I mean that it has nothing that will inspire you to keep your eyes on the screen, but it isn’t bad to keep it in the background.
Directed by Seth Gordon, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Brendan O’Brien, the Netflix spy action comedy-drama film revolves around former CIA spies Emily and Matt, who gave up their life of action and adventure to raise a family but are pulled back into the action after their secret identities are exposed.

Madcap airport thriller Carry-On has proved to be a ratings success for Netflix, and now ranks fifth on its top 10 list of most-watched films.
Cannily timed to coincide with the festive break, Netflix thriller Carry-On is now one of the streaming giant’s most-watched movies. According to the firm’s own numbers, the airport-set nail-biter has notched up 149m views – meaning it currently occupies the fifth position on its top 10 list of most-viewed movies ever.
This means that Carry-On, starring Taron Egerton and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, has joined such esteemed company as action comedy romp Red Notice (in the number one spot with 230.9m views) and Sandra Bullock sci-fi horror Bird Box (157.4m).
As pointed out by Indiewire, Carry-On's success means that the starry murder mystery Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story has been edged off the list. Director Rian Johnson is probably calling his local hitman as we type this.

Ever since its debut before the holiday season, Carry-On has been a big hit for Netflix, securing solid reviews and audience feedback that has turned into a considerable amount of views for the platform. As the film has steadily climbed in viewership, Carry-On has begun to become one of Netflix's top-performing films and has just recently knocked a fan-favorite sequel directed by Rian Johnson out of their Top 5.
Per Variety, Carry-On has entered Netflix's most popular English-language films list at number five, with a total of 149.5 million views since it debuted on the streamer last month. By cracking the Top 5, Carry-On knocks Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery out of the fifth spot, and joins the ranks of Red Notice (currently holding the top spot), Don't Look Up, The Adam Project, and Bird Box. All of these films have put in stellar numbers that Carry-On could very well encroach on.

Netflix has a complicated history of deciding which projects are worth it and which aren't. Despite its stellar cast starring Taron Egerton, Jason Batemen, Theo Rossi, and Danielle Deadwyler, there was no guarantee Carry-On would have the success it's experiencing.
The Christmas thriller debuted on the first spot in the charts after its Dec. 13 premiere and has been holding on to the first spot since then. For the week between Dec. 30 and Jan. 6, Carry-On is still holding on to the first place and has already hit an important achievement. The additional screenings since its premiere helped Carry-On fly to the Most Popular English Top 10, debuting in fifth place with 149.4 million views in less than a month since its premiere, Netflix confirmed.

“Carry-On” has entered Netflix’s most popular English-language films list.
The action thriller reached the fifth spot Tuesday with 149.5 million views since its release a month ago, according to the streamer. “Red Notice” is currently No. 1 on the list, followed by “Don’t Look Up,” “The Adam Project,” “Bird Box” and “Carry-On.”
“More than the numbers, it’s seeing people’s reactions to the movie,” director Jaume Collet-Serra told me Tuesday morning. “I started getting a lot of calls and texts from friends and people who didn’t know I directed it. They didn’t know until they saw the credits and they were sending me texts that they loved it. I think at that moment I knew the movie was finding an audience and connecting to it.”

In a shakeup to Netflix’s All-Time Top 10 list, “Carry-On,” the thriller starring Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman, is now the #5 most-watched English-language film in its first 91 days on the service.
In the process, “Carry-On” bumped fellow Netflix original film, Rian Johnson’s “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story,” from the Top 10. Johnson will get his chance to make things right with his third “Knives Out” installment, “Wake Up Dead Man,” arriving later this year.
“Carry-On,” which was produced by Amblin Partners, debuted on the all-time Top 10 with 149.4 million views, and it managed to do so in less than four weeks, so it still has a lot of time to keep climbing. For its fourth consecutive week, the film directed by Jauma Collet-Serra has topped the weekly film list, notching another 17.4 million views during the week of December 30.
