Former Arrow star and known scream queen Katie Cassidy has signed onto a new horror movie! Nanny Cam is a thriller from Jenni "JWoww" Farley, the reality star best known for the long-running Jersey Shore franchise.

Farley previously entered the horror movie scene with her 2024 film Devon, which followed a group of people investigating an abandoned asylum in search of their missing daughter who disappeared from the institution years before. Terrifier distributor Cineverse picked up Devon and it later released on Screambox. Deadline reports that, like Devon, Farley will write and direct Nanny Cam.

Cassidy is best known for playing Laurel Lance in The CW's Arrowverse, but the actress has also starred in many horror/thriller films, such as the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, the 2006 Black Christmas remake, Wolves at the Door, Kill for Me, and The Scribbler.

Some unanswered questions in "Leave the World Behind" are explained by supporting material from the novel and real-life disasters. The characters' actions and decisions in the movie raise some serious plot holes and inconsistencies. The movie connects subtly to Sam Esmail's previous work, "Mr. Robot," possibly existing in the same universe.

Sam Esmail's Leave the World Behind is designed to leave its audience guessing, but some unanswered questions actually reveal some major plot holes. After debuting on Netflix on December 8, 2023, the popular dystopian thriller has caused a swarm of conversations online surrounding the plausible and terrifying portrait of the collapse of American society. Esmail, known for creating the celebrated hacker series Mr. Robot, has addressed some of these plot holes in response but still leaves plenty of question marks in Leave the World Behind.

Frictional Games has unleashed the Halloween update for Amnesia: The Bunker onto PC and consoles today. And as reported, the update brings several new features to Amnesia: The Bunker, “really switching up the gameplay, adding new horrors and heaps of replay value.”

First and foremost is the “Shell Shock” difficulty, which functions as a sort of Hardcore mode for the game, and includes some of the following changes:

New creature behaviors that increases unpredictability. Sublevel Fuse System that requires the player to restore electricity to turn on the lights in each of the Bunker’s zones. Players will now lose health while bleeding, bandages will stop bleeding but don’t restore health, while medkits stop bleeding and restore health. Lockers and their combinations are in random locations. Saving your progress costs fuel. The unlimited supply of fuel, and already difficult-to-access resource, is now locked and has its own combination located somewhere in the Bunker.

As the second season of Invasion draws near its end, questions just keep piling up, and characters start acting increasingly erratic due to the relentless pressure and threat imposed by the alien assault. Some big revelations are made by the end of the eighth episode, titled Cosmic Ocean, but the issue of pacing continues to plague the series, as at times the episodes act like filler in the narrative whole.

Free to say whatever they wanted in open court after Danny Masterson was formally sentenced to 30 years in prison, the three women who testified against the “That ’70s Show” star gave lengthy, detailed and emotionally supercharged victim impact statements that spoke of additional unreported attacks, more creepy behavior and further Scientology intervention not mentioned over two trials.

One such statement took a direct swipe at Ashton Kutcher — without naming Masterson’s former costar — and the “many cowards who can claim they just never saw him rape anyone.” Kutcher and wife Mila Kunis were among several of Masterson’s family, friends and former colleagues who wrote character statements on his behalf before sentencing, and who quickly faced online backlash when the leniency letters surfaced last week.

The victims read their impact statements aloud last Thursday in a Los Angeles court, minutes after Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo ordered the maximum possible sentence for Masterson.

Rotten Tomatoes has a lot of influence over moviegoers, perhaps too much. Without reading a single review of a movie, one only needs to look at the Rotten Tomatoes score, a figure between 0 and 100 that decides if the movie is Fresh or Rotten. Critics and filmmakers have already taken issue with the method, which treats every review in black-and-white terms, with no room for nuance. However, a new report from Vulture revealed another massive problem — namely that a movie-publicity company called Bunker 15 has been paying critics for reviews in a bid to raise the Rotten Tomatoes score of certain movies.

Vulture’s report says that Bunker 15 manipulated the Rotten Tomatoes score for Ophelia, a retelling of Hamlet starring Daisy Ridley. Frictional Games’s Amnesia: The Bunker centers around a World War II soldier who awakens in an underground shelter with, you guessed it, amnesia. What the title doesn’t convey is just how big of a departure the game is from the other entries in the Amnesia series, including 2010’s The Dark Descent, one of the best horror games of all time.

For one, the linearity of the game’s predecessors is gone, replaced by a semi-open world built around a central safe room. Multiple paths snake away from that hub into the depths of the bunker, and you may travel them as you wish, searching for the demolition tools to blast open an exit. No matter where you travel, though, you’ll find large holes in the walls from which the single mutant that stalks your progress throughout the game could emerge.

I’ve always been fascinated with the popularity of the Amnesia franchise. The first game came out in an era where survival horror was pretty much dead. It soon caught on with YouTubers and let’s-players overreacting to its unique flavor of horror. Like it or not, it kept the torch of survival horror lit during an era where Resident Evil 6 was the biggest horror game on shelves. This was soon followed by an outsourced sequel titled A Machine for Pigs that took everything players loved about the first game and tossed it all out in favor of a walking simulator through carefully curated scenes. It didn’t work. The series returned to the original developers with Rebirth and for the most part it felt like a back-to-basics approach with a bigger emphasis on story.

For fans, the Amnesia series was back and could go anywhere.

“Clearly, people know our brand,” says Ice Theaters senior VP sales and strategy Guillaume Thomine Desmazures. “When a massive group like India’s PVR Inox entrusts you to build several new cinemas over the next five years, that affords greater legitimacy. More so than last year, today, we’re really centered on business.”

While offering revenue share or fixed fee models tailored to specific markets, Ice execs have adaptability as a key element of their sales pitch.

Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired North American rights to “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe,” a queer coming-of-age story about two teens who form a special bond after a chance meeting one summer. The sale comes a few months after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Blue Fox is planning a wide theatrical release of the film this summer, though the exact date has yet to be determined. Blue Fox’s international division is handling the international sales.

If you are frustrated with something that has recently transpired in your life, and you want to get rid of that feeling, watch “Bunker.” But keep another film that you like close to you because you will need it after watching this one. You will be surprised at how it shifts your frustration from that thing to itself. The sheer nonsensical presentation of what could have been a sensible plot makes you want to take refuge in a “bunker” rather than wait for the movie to end. The conviction with which the actors play their parts is what further makes the film more ludicrous and irritating. Without any further criticism, let’s see what happens in “Bunker.”

Exclusive: Blue Fox Entertainment has picked up U.S. rights to the romantic comedy The End of Sex, starring Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek) and Jonas Chernick (James vs. His Future Self), from Vortex Media. The film directed by Sean Garrity will be released in theaters nationwide in April, hitting theaters across Canada via Vortex at the same time.

World premiering at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival, The End of Sex tells the story of a married couple (Hampshire and Chernick) who are feeling the pressures of parenting and adulthood. Blue Fox Entertainment has taken on worldwide rights to the American crime thriller “The Stolen Valley,” which it will be launching sales at the Berlin Festival’s European Film Market.

Directed by Jesse Edwards (“Draft Academy”), the film stars Briza Covarrubias and Allee Sutton Hethcoat. Edwards also wrote the script and produced the film with Joel Edwards (“Without You”).

The film turns on Lupe (Covarrubias), a Mexican-Navajo mechanic who teams up with an outlaw cowgirl (Hethcoat) to help save her dying mother. En route, they cross a desert, outpace criminals, and run into into a corrupt landowner.

Blue Fox’s U.S. division will release the film theatrically later this year. The film is produced by six-time Emmy winner Evolve Studios.
