It turns out that’s not all, folks. The “Looney Tunes” live-action hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” has finally found a new home — and with a theatrical release. Ketchup Entertainment is set to acquire the Warner Bros. Discovery (Wbd)-axed film, according to reports. IndieWire has reached out to reps at Wbd and Ketchup for confirmation. Wbd had no comment. A source close to the film said the Ketchup deal is indeed in the works.

As Deadline reported on Wednesday, Ketchup Entertainment is negotiating an all-rights acquisition in the $50 million range for “Coyote vs. Acme,” with respect to the film’s reported $70-million budget.

Ketchup Entertainment is expected to land distribution rights for “Coyote vs. Acme.” Thought the sale has not closed, the price tag is reportedly in the $50 million range, according to Deadline, which broke the news.

Ketchup Entertainment, an independent distributor, recently spearheaded the theatrical release of “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie” after Warner Bros. Coyote vs. Acme, the film that ignited social media when Warner Bros. canceled it for a tax write-off, may see the light of day after all. Indie outfit Ketchup Entertainment is eyeing the rights to the film, which stars Will Forte and John Cena opposite an animated Wile E. Coyote.

Ketchup and Warners have been discussing a roughly $50 million deal for some time that would put the project in theaters in 2026, though it’s still unclear if it will close. Warner Bros. declined to comment.

Ketchup has a history putting Looney Tunes movies in theaters. It distributed The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie after Warner Bros. Discovery opted to shop the film rather than release it itself. Released wide last weekend, it has earned $5.5 million globally.

Netflix has canceled the Noah Centineo-fronted drama series after two seasons. It comes less than six weeks after its second season premiered at the end of January.

The news was revealed by Colton Dunn, who played Lester Kitchens, a colleague of Centineo’s, on social media. Netflix confirmed the cancelation.

The spy series, which premiered in December 2022, followed Owen Hedricks (Centineo), a CIA lawyer who becomes involved in international conflicts with dangerous parties after an asset tries to expose her relationship to the agency.

It was created by Alexi Hawley and produced by Lionsgate (after its acquisition of eOne) and Hypnotic.

Meanwhile, his pacifism and honesty manage to impress future Troik clan chieftain Hayna so thoroughly that his charm may inspire her to become a peaceful ruler -- thus potentially ending the cycle of violence that has plagued At Achrann for who knows how long.

Netflix announced today that its action-packed espionage series, The Recruit, will return for its second season on January 30, 2025. The series comes from Entertainment One (eOne), Alexi Hawley, and Hypnotic.

The Recruit Season 2 finds CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) pulled into a life-threatening espionage situation in South Korea, only to realize that the bigger threat just might be coming from inside the Agency.

“Owen rolls into this season basically screwed. Owen knows that if he does not walk away with a win this season, his career is going to be over. He might go to prison,” said creator, showrunner and executive producer Alexi Hawley.

Little is known about the plot or production calendar of Rip as of yet, though it is expected to seek distributors after gaining interest from theatrical and streaming buyers.

Artists Equity released their first film, Air, in April 2023. Asher Levin, known for helming the movies Dig and Slayers, signed on to direct. He also co-wrote the film's screenplay with Danny Matier from a story by Addam Bramich.

Katz, Zambeck, Jordon Rioux, and Chris Knitter are producers of the horror flick, while Sean Krajeski, Ronnie Exley, Theresa Wayman, Jeremy Ross, and Anish Gupta are executive producers. Wayman is also composing the score.

Umbrelic Entertainment has unveiled the cast of its upcoming horror film, “The Possession at Gladstone Manor,” which includes Caylee Cowan (“Hypnotic”), Jesse Metcalfe (“John Tucker Must Die”), Charlotte Kirk (“The Reckoning”), Darren Weiss (“Inside Man”), Barbara Crampton (“You’re Next”), William Mapother (“Blackhat”) and Lin Shaye (“Insidious” franchise).

Production is currently underway in Kansas City, and Amp’s Anthony Buckner is handling international sales at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

According to an official logline, “The Possession at Gladstone Manor” picks up “when Jamie Black discovers her mother has gone missing [and] resolves to investigate by applying for the same job her mother held at Gladstone Manor. Jamie soon finds evidence that her mother isn’t the only missing person, and that she may be dealing with sinister forces beyond this world.”

“As die-hard fans of the horror genre, this project feels like a dream come true,” said producer Thomas Zambeck.
