Sidhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri‘s much-anticipated romantic drama Dhadak 2 was supposed to arrive on Holi, and fans were very eager to see the two actors together on screen. Now, as per the latest reports, the film is not being released on Holi anymore as it is facing trouble with the Censor Board!
Reports suggest that the romantic drama is now stuck with the Central Board of Film Certification. The film, as per murmurs, has been very well made, but the issue lies with its certification.
A report by Bollywood Hungama suggests that the Cbfc is very confused about the certification and category of Dhadak 2 since it is based on caste issues and is a gut-wrenching tale. Even the examining committee is happy with the film but needs time to ponder its certification.

The second thing you need to know is that the film is a lament on the education system; it is something of a tribute to the 1993 Shankar film Gentleman – and has learnt nothing from the criticism that the latter has drawn. But we’ll get to that later. Ps Mithran’s last film Irumbuthirai, which was about data theft, may have taken some liberties with facts but it was still a well-researched film that was mostly realistic. Short filmDirected by Gundala Balagurunadham, the story is set in Andhra Pradesh and is inspired from real life incidents.Priyanka RichiPa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions has come out with their first short film in Telugu titled Modugulapalem. Directed by Gundala Balagurunadham, the film is set in the village of Modugulapalem in Chittoor and depicts the resistance offered by the Dalits in branding their village as a ‘Harijanawada’. The film gives us an insight on how caste is still prevalent, with the government having no qualms in declaring a certain pocket in a village to be a place for 'Harijans'. The two-and-half-minute short film begins with the voice-over of a young man narrating caste-related atrocities in the village of Modugulapalem way back in 1972. He talks of a particular tea shop which was set up by an upper caste man and which used to serve tea to people belonging to the oppressed castes in coconut shells.

Information about the make-up and prosthetics involved and the actor’s commitment to the art steadily make the headlines, delighting fans and setting up the anticipation for the moment when the ‘first look’ will be revealed. Occasionally, the actor plays a trans woman, like Vijay Sethupathi recently did in Super Deluxe or Jayasurya in Njan Marykutty. But what makes it worse than the scores of films that have come out in the past and have done exactly the same thing is that it is also infused with caste pride. Gautham Karthik plays Vetri, who hails from a large Thevar family in Madurai. From his introduction scene when he’s shown beating up a bunch of people and sending them to Mars, Vetri’s penchant for violence is glorified as “veeram” (bravery) throughout the narrative and connected to his Thevar lineage. The plot, if one can call it that,...
