The show mentions that the artifact is pointing to a specific star but this cannot be as the earth rotates and the artifact never points at the same location in the sky.

I know it's science fiction but please at least try.

Good Sci-Fi is about good stories where science is the backdrop. They try to answer "what if?", but usually they respect basic well-established scientific principles. This show violates all those things. Unínteresting story, unlikable characters and disregard for science. (Hint: dark matter is not a black cloud, nor is it opaque: it's invisible.)
