The Hand That Rocks the Cradle will adapt Curtis Hanson’s 1992 thriller. In it, “Rebecca De Mornay starred as a twisted widow who, distraught over losing her own baby, insinuates herself into a family as their nanny, with the ultimate goal of taking the kids and the husband for herself. Annabella Sciorra played the mother.”

Walker’s win in the feature film category could prove prescient; 17 out of the last 36 years found the ASC film winner winning the Academy Award. But it’s worth noting that Oscar nominees “Tár” and “All Quiet on the Western Front” were not among the ASC nominees.

Those two films received three nominations in the five feature-film categories, while “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “The Menu,” “Amsterdam,” “Babylon,” “Blonde” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” each received two.

The film nominees included seven of the films on the 10-film Oscar shortlist in the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category: “Amsterdam,” “Babylon,” “The Batman,” “Black Panther,” “Blonde,” “Elvis” and “The Whale.” An additional three films – “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Crimes of the Future” and “Emancipation” – were shortlisted by the Academy but not nominated by the guild.

“We packed it with bits of lookalike meat and some fleshy bits. It was all stuff that wasn’t real organic. It needed to keep and fit the molds,” Berardi said.

Netflix gave fans their most extensive look yet at The Midnight Club on Tuesday.

The adaptation of Christopher Pike's 1994 novel of the same name is set to premiere on October 7.

"At a hospice with a mysterious history, the eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond," the logline reads.

"A new horror series from Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy’s Intrepid Pictures, and Leah Fong, based on the creative work of bestselling author Christopher Pike," Netflix teases.

The cast includes Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone, Chris Sumpter, Adia, Aya Furukawa, Sauriyan Sapkota, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, Zach Gilford, and Heather Langenkamp.

Based on the official trailer, it looks like the series will be appealing to a younger audience than Flanagan's other works.

Aside from his haunting, stop-motion animated version of Pinocchio, the acclaimed director and screenwriter is also helming a sinister Netflix series called Cabinet of Curiosities. The series premiere is a little while away – it debuts in late October – but the streamer released today a first-look video with Del Toro himself in order to get us hyped up. The anthology series will tell stories that defy the notions of the horror genre and navigate through the sinister, macabre, gothic, and creepy territory.

With a little over two months to go until the release of the anthology horror series Cabinet of Curiosities, Netflix has decided to release some first-look images in order to tease us about the upcoming project. Co-showrun and curated by Academy Award winner Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water), the series will tell eight spooky stories that explore different aspects of the horror genre. The first two episodes debut in late October, just in time for Halloween.

Something sinister is lurking in the shadows. Netflix has shared a special first look at “Cabinet of Curiosities,” its upcoming horror anthology series from Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro. The streamer has also set a premiere date of Oct. 25.

“Curiosities” consists of eight stories, each intended to challenge traditional notions of horror. Scary beautiful monsters are coming, legendary director Guillermo del Toro promises of his new series “Cabinet of Curiosities,” in a brand new first look along with the unique release details for the anthology.

In the video, which Netflix dropped Monday, del Toro explains how each of the individual episodes were crafted, and the creative freedom he and co-showrunner J. Miles Dale gave the directors of each installment.

The series is a curated collection of “genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro,” per a logline from the streamer.

Pinocchio is coming to life. A new trailer for director Guillermo del Toro’s animated film version of the classic tale has been released by Netflix.

“From my many wanderings on this earth, I had so much to say about imperfect fathers and imperfect sons,” Ewan McGregor’s Sebastian J. Cricket narrates at the start of the trailer. “I want to tell you a story. It’s a story you may think you know, but you don’t — the story of the wooden boy.”

The trailer, which follows the first teaser footage from January, reveals footage of lonely woodcutter Geppetto’s (David Bradley) creation of Pinocchio (Gregory Mann) and the puppet boy’s adventures alongside his creator.

Emily Carmichael, co-writer of Jurassic World Dominion, and Erik Singer, dialect coach on Elvis, are engaged. The pair, whose movies are currently charting in the top three at the U.S. box office, confirmed the news with The Hollywood Reporter and shared their exclusive (and playful) engagement portraits.

Carmichael and Singer met in Budapest on the set of Terminator: Dark Fate. Singer, who has also worked on Mulan, The Survivor and Cabinet of Curiosities, was serving as the dialect coach while Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising) was there visiting the set. He confirms that he fell for her immediately, and they started dating in November 2018.

“She was hilarious and razor-sharp,” says Singer, who worked closely with Elvis breakout Austin Butler, training him to master Elvis Presley’s voice and articulation for the demanding (and critically acclaimed) transformation.

The minute-plus clip confirms five new cast members – Eric André, Sofia Boutella, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Kate Micucci and Charlyne Yi — and contains snippets of footage of stories contained in the anthology series from Oscar winner del Toro.
