DC appears to be going all in on Green Lanternas a new animated series, My Adventures with Green Lantern, was recently announced. After 2011's box office disaster Green Lantern, it seemed like Warner Bros. and DC Comics tried to downplay the various characters' importance, including omitting them from the Justice League roster in the Dceu. The 2020s look very Green Lantern-centric as Nathan Fillion will play Guy Gardner in Superman, with Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler set to play John Stewart and Hal Jordan incarnations of the Green Lantern in the Max series Lanterns. Now an animated version of the Green Lantern Jessica Cruz is on the way, but it will be connected to another popular Superman project outside of the Dcu.

DC's animated Justice League films follow various continuities, complicating viewing patterns beyond chronological order. Standalone films offer unique, non-shared universe stories featuring the Justice League with varied art styles and themes. The Tomorrowverse continuity ties into the Dcamu, making viewing all animated Justice League movies a more cohesive experience.
The DC Animated Universe has a rich filmography when it comes to the Justice League, necessitating a solid watch order to make sense of it all. DC's animated films are a consistent content output, and standing among them are some of DC's most faithful media. With a new animated Justice League film from DC having been put out at least once almost every year since 2010, it's easy to get lost in putting together the chronological order in which the films were released.
Warner Brother's live-action Dceu may be on the brink of a reboot, yet the universe's animated films have always had a strong identity.

We all know who Superman is.
Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster in 1938, wasn't the first superhero character in modern media, but he tends to be held up as one of the genre's central archetypes. His red wrestler's cape and red strong man's trunks, paired with his super strength and ability to defy gravity, have all become central symbols of what a superhero is, how a superhero should behave, and what a superhero looks like. Hundreds of thousands of superheroes have been invented since 1938, but many of those produced by mainstream comics outlets like Marvel or DC owe Superman a direct debt. In the same way that every on-screen Dracula is a riff on Bela Lugosi's performance in Tod Browning's 1931 movie, Superman is either being enhanced or subverted by every comic book superhero character. But he is the mainstay.

Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three ends on a bittersweet note, with a solution for the Anti-Monitor leading to new mysteries about the DC Multiverse. The finale pays tribute to Kevin Conroy's Batman, uniting him with Mark Hamill's Joker in a grim and nostalgic showdown. Although Mark Hamill has stated he won't play the Joker without Kevin Conroy as Batman, opportunities could still arise for him to reprise his iconic voice role.
The following contains spoilers for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three, now available on Digital.

Bruce Timm is considered one of DC’s premiere creators when it comes to their animated material. Timm has co-created some of DC’s most important pieces of animated content. From Superman: The Animated Series, and Batman: The Animated Series to Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, Timm had a role to play in the creation of all these IPs, all of which shared a continuity, together being referred to as the Dcau.
Justice League Unlimited | Warner Bros.
Although after Justice League Unlimited ended, the show would not get a sequel, it continued via Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. The film existed in the same universe as the Dcau, as confirmed by Bruce Timm, who took the time to clear out where the film stands in the timeline.

DC animated films continue to receive positive reception from critics and audiences. Legion of Super-Heroes had their first feature-length movie, expanding their presence in DC animated projects. Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham adapts a popular comic book arc, offering a standalone story outside the current DC animated universe.
The DC Universe franchise continues its successful tradition of crafting animated movies, with several upcoming confirmed projects in 2023. While a lot of the previous Dceu live-action movies, such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, have been divisive, the DC animated films have been mostly positively received by critics and audiences. A total of six animated movies were released by DC in 2022, including DC League of Super-Pets, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, and Catwoman: Hunted, a self-contained story with no connections to any universe.
Green Lantern: Beware My Power was 2022's last entry in DC's “Tomorrowverse.

Adaptations of DC comics are faring much better on TV than they are on the big screen, and Doom Patrol’s endless quirkiness marks it as one of the most interesting. Diane Guerrero, who plays the dissociative identity disorder-afflicted Crazy Jane on the series and is one of its highlights, has now put herself forward to play Jessica Cruz whenever DC actually manage to get another live action Green Lantern up and running.
During a Doom Patrol Twitter Q&a session, Guerrero was asked which DC character she would choose to play, with her answer being quite emphatic.
Jessica Cruz, Green Lantern! That's my next DC character, just to put it out there…

If Doom Patrol star Diane Guerrero gets her way, the next DC role she'll get to play will be as the Jessica Cruz version of Green Lantern. Also known for her roles on Orange Is the New Black and Jane the Virgin, Guerrero has made a name for herself with DC fans by starring as Crazy Jane on the DC Universe series Doom Patrol. Recently tweeting from the official Doom Patrol Twitter account, Guerrero was directly asked which other DC character she might want to portray next.
"Jessica Cruz, Green Lantern! That's my next DC character, just to put it out there," Guerrero says in the tweet. It should be noted that Guerrero has previously voiced Jessica Cruz in the animated movie Justice League vs. the Fatal Five, which was released directly to home video last year. The movie was a hit with critics upon its release, scoring an impressive 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Wonder Woman: Bloodlines. This is the latest in what DC has dubbed simply the DC Universe Movies, but it comes from a much longer line of animated DC Comics adaptations that, on the whole, have been embraced in a big way by fans. Where some of the live-action movies have left something to be desired in the eyes of many, these animated offerings tend to please and this looks to be no exception, as we've got a big, slick spectacle on the way.
The trailer kicks off with the familiar origin story for Diana Prince, who decides to become a hero to the human race after saving a man named Steve Trevor. Beyond that, the footage we see here is loaded down with action. We see Wonder Woman duking it out with the likes of Giganta, amongst many other foes. Things eventually...

Justice League vs the Fatal Five has enjoyable throwback elements, but grasps for mediocrity with its new lead heroes and underdeveloped villains. Fans of Bruce Timm, who created Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited will love the return of the nineties era characters. Kevin Conroy, George Newbern, and Susan Eisenberg return to voice Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The old guard kicks ass. It's the newbies that leaves the latest DC animated adventure lacking.
Justice League vs. The Fatal Five opens with a fierce battle in the thirtieth century. Mano (Philip Anthony-Rodriguez ), the half cyborg Tharok (Peter Jessop), and the slice 'em up Persuader (Matthew Yang King), steal a time travelling capsule. They escape to the present with Star Boy (Elyes Gabel) in tow. The trip doesn't go according to plan. The capsule is sealed and Star Boy, without his meds, has lost his memory.

Is a Mortal Kombat Animated Movie on the way from Warner Bros. Animation? That's the new rumor floating around. Many fans of one of the gaming world's most enduring franchises have been waiting a very long time for Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero and the gang to make their way back to the big screen, or small screen, in some official capacity. Some admirable fan attempts aside, it's yet to happen. But that could be changing relatively soon, assuming this new report turns out to be true.
Before digging in, as per usual with this sort of thing, we must caution that this isn't coming directly from the studio or anyone related to the alleged project. As such, we need to clarify that this should only be regarded as a rumor for the time being.
