Okay, this is Tarsem's first comedy venture. He is really liked amongst Punjabis because of his charisma and songs he writes. Hence, the expectations were high. Afsar is good to watch till the interval as the story is very likeable with all the characters introduced in a great manner but loses the plot in the second half. Nimrat khaira does a decent job as she doesn't have much to offer. Karmajit goes missing after his 10 minutes appearance and come back at the end. The only character which survives is of Ghuggi, a teacher who likes Nimrat and too wants to marry him. Pukhraj has lot of potential. I'll love to see more of him in the upcoming movies. I would only recommend this movie if you're bored as hell and your friends has cancelled all the plans made a day before. 8/10 for the first half!
Very good movie to watch. Good locations.good acting by lead actors. Good directions and very good story. Its a good film to watch with family members and friends. Jaspal has a government job at a good post and falls for Harman, a schoolteacher. Strangely, he must pretend to be a low-ranking officer to win her father's heart if he wishes to marry her. Punjabi film directed by Gulshan Singh, starring Tarsem Jassar, Nimrat Khaira, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Karamjit Anmol. Afsar is good to watch till the interval as the story is very likeable with all the characters introduced in a great manner. On their way, Patwari Jaspal tells Kanungo Jaspal that he doesn't like this government job and prefers lying idle and getting drunk, provided he gets some easy money. Looking at this great opportunity, Kanungo Jaspal gives money to Patwari Jaspal and tells him to go away somewhere and that he will take his place as the new Patwari, as their names are the same and no one knows them in that village.
A guy was talking in Hindi. They called him Baiyyaaa and asked the other person not to speak in Hindi. He might be from another state of India. If you guys cant respect other state's people, please dont ask other state to watch your movies.
By the way,
India's national language is Hindi.
