The Spider-Man-adjacent film marks the live-action debut of Sergei Kravinoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), one of Marvel Comics' most iconic supervillains. Unfortunately for fans of the character, Kraven doesn't quite live up to expectations in his first big-screen appearance.

In typical Ssu fashion, Kraven the Hunter became infamous for its ridiculous moments, shoddy writing, and subpar CGI, all coalescing together into a terrifically terrible viewing experience. As awful as the film is, there is something intrinsically enjoyable about making fun of it. From terribly written lines to strange unscripted noises, these are the most unintentionally hilarious moments in Kraven the Hunter.

It’s quite a week for stunning new entries into the top five most-viewed movies and shows on Netflix. The lists on Tudum have been updated and highlight some very recent releases. Those have added an edge and been popular with viewers, one doing so in spectacular numbers.

The top five shows include a new tough-to-stomach drama with remarkable direction and camerawork. The show has been a major talking point for viewers this week and has had a huge number of views. It’s joined by two other new releases and a couple of recent favorites.

On the movie list, one new release has been much-awaited but may be a letdown if the critics are right. But then the viewers themselves have the real say, and it has attracted plenty of them so far. Once again there is plenty of variety and something for all the family among the top five movies.

When looking at Ryan Reynolds' 2024, one particular project stands out: Deadpool & Wolverine. While the third installment in his Merc with a Mouth franchise was a tremendous success, he had a project that didn't reach the same heights — If.

The children's movie If, which stands for Imaginary Friends, was actor and director John Krasinski's first brush with the genre after his two successful horror films from the A Quiet Place franchise. Despite Kraven the Hunter's appalling theatrical run, the last installment in Sony's Spider-Man Universe has landed the third spot on Netflix's Top 10 Movies list. As of March 18, 2025, Kraven the Hunter has collected 7.1 million views and 15 million hours viewed. M. Night Shyamalan is known for his psychological, twisty thrillers. While the filmmaker's legacy mostly consists of earlier projects, his latest title has proven that viewers are still interested in his projects.

Shyamalan released Trap in 2024, his first project with Warner Bros. after switching from Universal Studios. Although the psychological thriller didn't impress critics, despite revealing the major twist in the trailer, the movie became a major commercial hit. Its success didn't stop in theaters. Trap is currently finding new success on streaming, per Tudum. Shortly afterdebuting on Netflix, Trap entered the global Top 10 charts in fourth place.

In its first week,the movie attracted 6.7 million views and 11.8 million hours viewed. This isn't the film's only feat, as these numbers come from the U.S. alone, the only territory that introduced the film on the platform. Kraven the Hunter is part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe. The film was the third addition to the Ssu in 2024 and didn't live up to its potential, becoming a major flop after poor initial reviews.

Luckily, streaming services prove there's an audience for every film and Kraven the Hunter has found its prey. Since its disastrous release in theaters, the movie, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, has found a lot of success online. Following its release on Netflix, Kraven the Hunter has become a hit, Tudum reveals.

The movie premiered on Netflix on Mar. 13, and for the week between Mar. 10 and 16, the movie climbed up the charts globally. It received 7.1 million views and 15 million hours viewed in just three days on the platform. The numbers become even more impressive, as the film reached the third spot globally and is available only in one territory — the U.S.

Not every film with good reviews becomes a major commercial hit, and not all films with bad reviews are unpopular. Just like last year there have been a series of examples, including Furiosa: A Mad Max Story, The Fall Guy, and Red One.

Now, Netflix's latest film The Electric State is experiencing a similar trend. Although the film didn't receive a theatrical release and it headed straight to Netflix, the early reviews ahead of the Mar. 14 release called it "one of the worst movies of the year." The official numbers prove otherwise, as Tudumcrowns The Electric State the biggest film of the week.

For the week between Mar. 10 and 16,The Electric State amassed 25.2 million views and 53.8 million hours viewed. That is a huge feat considering the movie had only 2 full days to achieve that before Netflix stopped counting.

It became the No. 1 movie in 47 countries, including the U.S.

Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown are two of the biggest names in streaming, and they have teamed up for a new Netflix hit. After rising to prominence for playing Andy Dwyer on the sitcom Parks and Recreation, Pratt solidified his fame by starring in two highly successful film franchises – playing Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Owen Grady in the Jurassic World trilogy. In recent years, he's also had a consistent presence on streaming, starring in the Prime Video movie The Tomorrow War and the series The Terminal List.

“Adolescence” debuted as Netflix’s most-watched TV show of the week with an impressive audience for its opening weekend.

After debuting its four hour-long episodes on Thursday, March 13, “Adolescence” scored 24.3 million views through Sunday, March 16, making the limited series the most-watched TV show on Netflix during the week of March 10.

The opening weekend viewership for “Adolescence” outpaced that of other recent Netflix original series, including “The Night Agent” Season 2, which debuted to 13.9 million views, and “Zero Day,” which debuted to 19.1 million views during the week of Feb. 17. Likewise, “Running Point” scored 9.3 million views in its first week on the streamer.

Still, viewership for “Adolescence” was not enough to beat Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt-led “The Electric State,” which debuted to 25.2 million views, ranking as the most-watched movie of the week on Netflix.

While Netflix's slick but empty "The Electric State" has added to an already bleak streaming landscape, Jake Gyllenhaal is having nothing short of a streaming renaissance. Gyllenhaal's creepy sci-fi horror "Life" is a hit on Prime Video at the same time his and Michael Peña's action thriller is crushing it over on Max. Now, yet another Gyllenhaal-led thriller is ascending the Netflix charts, meaning the actor has claimed a spot in the rankings of the biggest streamer in the game at the same time he's dominating rival platforms — though he's had a bit of help with his latest streaming triumph.

2015's "Everest" is a survival thriller based on the real 1996 Mount Everest disaster that saw eight climbers lose their lives while trying to reach the highest point on Earth. The movie follows two expedition groups who are hit by a freak storm on their way to the top of the titular mountain.

There's nothing quite like when a Marvel movie arrives in theaters. The sheer aura of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has resulted in must-see movie moments that brings audiences of all ages together to see what their favorite superheroes - and supervillains - have been getting up to. It's a movement at this point, and it's one that has persisted for almost two decades.

Now, whenever a Marvel Comics character headlines a major movie, there is intrigue and excitement from fans, all of whom wonder if the larger-than-life entity will be at the forefront of a massive success story. However, there is one extremely important thing to remember: Not all Marvel movies are produced by Marvel Studios.

While the MCU isn't failproof, its tried-and-true formula produces anything from entertaining-but-flawed-superhero movie to masterpiece. Some of the other recent movies to star a Marvel character, however, haven't had quite such luck. And now...

The Spider-Verse is set to grow even more, and while Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has seemingly gone down in flames with the box office bombing of Kraven the Hunter, the Marvel Cinematic Universe still has big plans for Web-Head. Aside from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Destin Daniel Cretton heading up Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man standalone, there’s the delayed Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse alongside rumors that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire could return for Avengers: Secret Wars.

Given that the events of the Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man led directly into 2015’s Secret Wars, which then led to the Ultimate Universe being folded into ‘main’ Marvel continuity with Miles Morales in tow, there are questions about whether this will play out in the MCU. A cult classic comedy franchise starring Ice Cube has multiple installments trending on streaming three decades after the premiere of the first movie. Ice Cube is best known as a rap icon, having been a key member of the gangsta rap group N.W.A., which was formed in 1987. In the early 1990s, he began a career as an actor, making his feature debut in the 1991 John Singleton classic Boyz n the Hood, following that up with performances in Walter Hill's Trespass and Charles Burnett's The Glass Shield.

However, over the years, Ice Cube began to embrace more of a comic persona onscreen, which led him to star in multiple franchises in the comedy genre over the years. This includes the Barbershop franchise, which now includes three movies, a spinoff, and a television remake. He also starred in the 2005 road trip comedy Are We There Yet? and its 2007 sequel Are We Done Yet?...

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (Ssu) went out with a whimper because its final film entry simply couldn’t hunt up enough business at the box office. However, there is a reason Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s take on the titular Spidey comic book character in Kraven the Hunter went belly up in theaters, and that’s because critics and theatergoers alike appropriately responded to the movie’s poor storytelling. Today, though, Kraven is at long last enjoying some success as the film has cracked Netflix’s Top 10 Movies in the United States chart at No. 1 as of Friday, Mar. 14.

Poor reviews from the critics led to the inferior Kraven the Hunter registering the second-worst Tomatometer rating (15%) of the Ssu on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a dubious score it still shares with the Jared Leto-led Morbius. However, Kraven and Morbius' 15% still isn’t as bad as Madame Web’s lowly 11%. Despite the low numbers,...

Spider-Noir remains in production and, if the set photos we've seen are any indication, the web-slinger's first TV series will put a unique new spin on Spider-Man.

Screen icon Nicolas Cage plays Ben Reilly, a private eye who moonlights as a superhero. We've seen him swinging into action on set, suggesting the series will be very much in line with the comics, even though those featured Peter Parker under the mask. Why Spider-Noir is named after his clone hasn't been made clear.

The infamous film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the iconic Spider-Man villain, marking Kraven's official live-action debut--and it couldn't have been more disappointing. Superhero fans everywhere united to make fun of the underwhelming origin film which, like its fellow entries of the Ssu, feels like a throwback to an earlier age of comic book movies in all the worst ways. A mere month after leaving theaters, Kraven the Hunter is now officially streaming on Netflix alongside several other maligned entries in Sony's franchise.

Kraven the Hunter debuted to an embarrassing 15% on Rotten Tomatoes, earned devastatingly low figures at the box office, and generally fell out of memory in a matter of days.

2024 had a lot of highs and lows for the superhero genre. For one, there weren't as many cinematic releases as usual, so that's already a low point, but between the disappointing end to the Venom movie series and Sony's other two misses in Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter, it wasn't the best year for the comic book movies.

There was a huge high to balance those lows out, with Deadpool and Wolverine bringing the Marvel Cinematic Universe back to the top of the box office as it earned over $1.3 billion. But there was an equally high-profile low, with the intriguing, daring Joker: Folie à Deux flopping at the box office, earning just a small fraction of what its billion-dollar predecessor made in 2019.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has been expanding rapidly lately with the releases of Madame Web, Venom: The Last Dance, and Kraven the Hunter in quick succession, thus doubling the size of its installments, which had taken more than six years to manifest, in a matter of 11 months.

Unfortunately for Columbia Pictures, even combined, none of these releases could rehabilitate the earlier glory of its previous successes, Morbius notwithstanding. However, the dilemma at its center wasn’t so much the quality of these features but the fading interest among the public over one detail: the Ssu has yet to introduce the titular hero itself — Where is Spider-Man?

Three-time Academy Award nominee Russell Crowe is set to headline a new Cold War thriller. The movie is adapted from David E. Hoffman's bestseller, The Billion Dollar Spy: A True Story of Cold War Espionage and Betrayal, which tells a riveting story within the final years of the Cold War based on previously classified CIA documents and interviews. Crowe is best known for his performance as Maximus in Ridley Scott's 2000 Oscar-winner Gladiator.

Per Deadline's report, Billion Dollar Spyhas tapped Crowe and Industry's Harry Lawtey as the lead stars with a script by Ben August and revised by Oscar-winning writer Stephen Gaghan. Amma Asante will direct. In the movie, Crowe plays an ordinary man named Adolf Tolkachev, who is set on a highly dangerous mission to give top-secret Soviet intelligence to the United States. Lawtey will play a CIA agent named Tom Lenihan, who aids Crowe's character in challenging the Soviet government.

The James Bond franchise is more in flux than ever before following Amazon’s takeover, and it will need the perfect actor to take over the role of 007 and lead the series into this new era. Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again brought back Daredevil after the original series was canceled, but it opened with the tragic murder of Foggy Nelson. While this led Matt to hang up the suit and billy club, seemingly for good, there are other vigilantes in New York City, including the McU's Spider-Man. Another hero, Hector Ayala (aka the White Tiger) also appeared in the show to represent these other New York heroes.

Out of costume, Hector tried to stop two corrupt police officers from beating a man called Nicky Torres. While fighting them, one fell onto the subway tracks and died.

Netflix brings Kraven the Hunter to your home this Thursday. Allow him to enter at your own risk, as this appears to be the film that killed not only Spider-Man but also the non-Spider-Man Spider-Verse.

Sony's Spider-Man films were, on the whole, a pretty solid group. They got much better once they finally accepted assistance from Marvel Studios, beginning with Spider-Man: Homecoming. But those Spider-verse movies without Spidey? I mean, the first Venom was okay, but after that? Yeesh. And they got yeeshier as they went along.

Let me put it this way. The reputation of these movies is so bad that Netflix has been essentially dumping them onto their schedule. Venom: The Last Dance debuted on February 25th with little advance notice at all. The streaming giant did the same with Madame Web nearly a year ago, on May 14th. Both films performed much better on streaming than they did at movie theaters.

Who will take on the legendary 007 role? Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. It's more common than ever now due to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that franchise's absolute non-stop rise to success over the past two decades, but there have been plenty of Marvel superheroes on our screens for a lot longer than that.

Throughout that time, there have been the highs of the McU's game-changing Avengers movies, the thrills of that same series' Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the lows of some of the recent misses from Sony's Spider-Verse movies, Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter. Yes, the latter of those options exist, because just like with every genre of movie, there is such a thing as a bad Marvel movie.

Now, one of the first to ever hold the title of being one of the worst Marvel films has made its presence felt on Disney Plus.

Its initial batch of original series like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Daredevil put it on the map and changed the media landscape forever, with every studio following suit and beginning a streaming war with new platforms popping up. Despite Netflix spending billions of dollars each year on productions, they are supported by their large subscriber bases and have essentially set the terms for the streaming war. However, the stock market might hint at Netflix losing some control as subscribers are not happy with some of its recent decisions.

Jared Leto's terrible Spider-Man villain spinoff film, Morbius, was an absolute flop with critics and didn't put up huge numbers at the box office. Any hopes of a sequel were dashed when the opening weekend numbers and first reviews appeared back in Mar. 2022. Accepting the visual effects Oscar for “Dune : Part Two,” production VFX supervisor Paul Lambert acknowledged the contributions of the film’s VFX vendors, including Dneg and Wylie Co. as well as the “incredible Mpc.”

The Oscars will honor the best movie of the year this Sunday, but the infamous Razzie Awards have crowned the “worst” of 2024’s films.

Sony’s much-derided superhero film “Madame Web” has the (dis)honor of winning three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson and screenplay. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry,” led with seven nominations and took home screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.

Francis Ford Coppola won for directing his big-budget epic “Megalopolis,” and star Jon Voight won supporting actor for the film — shared with his turns in “Reagan,” “Shadow Land” and “Strangers.” Coppola’s “Megalopolis” received six nominations, which was tied for second-most nods with “Madame Web,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan.”

The famed filmmaker responded to his Razzies on Instagram, saying “box office is only about money, and like war, stupidity and politics has no true place in our future.

The results are in on the 2025 Razzie Awards where the year’s “worst” movies are recognized and awarded.

The annual ceremony, which traditionally takes place just ahead of the Oscars, went down on Friday (February 28).

Going into the event, Borderlands, Joker: Folie a Deux, Madame Web, Megalopolis and Reagan led the field of nominees with six nods a piece. After it was all said and done, Madame Web took home the most “wins,” receiving three trophies.

The 45th Razzie Awards results are in. The Academy Awards take place on Sunday evening and, as has become the tradition, the full list of "winners" from the 2025 Razzie Awards has just been unveiled.

Madame Web took three wins for "Worst Picture," "Worst Screenplay," and an arguably well-deserved "Worst Actress" for lead star Dakota Johnson. It wasn't the only comic book adaptation to walk away with a prize, though, as Joker: Folie à Deux nabbed "Worst Sequel" and "Worst Screen Combo" for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

The vast majority of celebrities and filmmakers ignore the Razzies, while few interviewers have the nerve - and understandably so - to ask celebrities about their "wins."

For whatever reason, Sony became convinced that crafting an entire franchise set in the Spider-Man universe without featuring the webslinger himself was a good idea. In fairness, Kevin Feige and the folks at Marvel Studios did create the most successful box office franchise in history by taking lesser-known characters and giving them the A-list character treatment. But the key thing there was that those early Marvel Cinematic Universe films were actually pretty good. At the least, they were solid blockbuster entertainment. Sony, on the other hand, has pumped out a string of truly bewildering films based on the Marvel characters to which it owns the rights.

"Morbius," for example, became nothing short of a joke upon its 2022 release, with Sony then trying to double down on that joke with a theatrical re-release that also flopped.
