A first trailer has been unveiled for Indonesian filmmaker Yosep Anggi Noen’s “24 Hours With Gaspar.”

The film world premieres at the Busan International Film Festival where it is in the prestigious Jiseok competition. Set in 2032 and based on the novel of the same name by Indonesian author Sabda Armandio, the film follows Gaspar, a private detective with 24 hours to live, who finds clues about the mysterious disappearance of Kirana, his childhood friend. The clues lead to a human trafficking syndicate.

A new type of horror story is about to hit the big screen. Collider is thrilled to exclusively share the first trailer for Dear David, the adaptation of Adam Ellis' Twitter thread that took the world by storm in 2017. While it's common for ghosts to appear in places that carry ancient history with them, this specter has adapted to the modern world, using current technology to torture its victim. John McPhail directed the upcoming project, with Augustus Prew playing the protagonist in a story that will make viewers think twice before accepting social media requests from unknown accounts.

Lionsgate is on to its next pot of gold, after tapping director Felipe Vargas to helm a new film in the Leprechaun horror franchise, Deadline can confirm.

Details as to the film’s plot are under wraps, though it’s billed as a reimagining for a new generation of moviegoers. Script will be penned by Mike Van Waes, one of the writers on Disney’s new live-action Lilo & Stitch film. Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon will produce, with Meredith Wieck and Jon Humphrey to oversee for Lionsgate, following Dan Freedman’s negotiating of deals for the studio.

Love is in the air on Netflix in February, from new romcoms like the Reese Witherspoon-starring “Your Place or Mine” to the return of murderous stalker Joe Goldberg in “You” Season 2 part 1.

Penn Badgley has long dispelled any misnomers of his “You” character being a romantic, but Joe himself still believes that’s who he is at his core. After killing his wife and faking his own death, Joe sets off for Europe so he can find Marianne (Tati Gabrielle), the woman he convinced himself he’s in love with before she learned the truth and fled. But breaking old habits has never been easy for old Joe, who quickly gets caught up in a most dubious clique of London high society that has its own struggles with lust, power, and the occasionally fatal crime.

The recently wrapped film written by John Cregan centers on a group of teenagers in small town Texas who unleash a deadly force after playing the famed party game Spin the Bottle in an abandoned house where a grisly massacre once took place.

Christopher Ammanuel (Black Lightning), Ryan Whitney (Reagan), Angela Halili (American Horror Stories), Samantha Cormier (Legion), Hal Cumpston (The Greatest Beer Run Ever) and Tony Amendola (The Curse of La Llorona) round out the cast. Netflix has announced its most ambitious slate of upcoming Indonesian films and series from local directors including Timo Tjahjanto, Kamila Andini and Joko Anwar.

The line-up of three features and four series were unveiled at Netflix’s first-ever Indonesian slate event, held in Jakarta, with the local-language original set for release in 2022 and 2023.

Netflix on Friday announced a slate of upcoming films and TV series from Indonesia. The company says this is its most ambitious outreach in the populous and influential Southeast Asian country.

The seven new titles span sci-fi thriller, comedy and period drama genres and involve big name creators Joho Anwar, Timo Tjahjanto (who is also part of the creative duo Mo Brothers) and Kamila Andini. They were announced at an in-person event in Jakarta called Waktu Netflix Indonesia (which translates as ‘Time for Netflix Indonesia).

The company said that the slate reflects its “commitment to helping the [Indonesian] industry build compelling content from the country and taking these stories to the world.”
