The Tag-Along: The Devil Fish

If you enjoyed the first two you'll enjoy this one as well

I almost didn't watch this one because of the bad reviews. Glad I ignored them. This is a prequel to 1 & 2. The end of two asked "why are there so many demons in the mountains" and this goes into answering that question for us. The creators also wanted to explore another Taiwanese folk tale or urban legend while at the same time building off what they've already created. It was a great idea, it made the film feel fresh while still looking for ways things will end up tying into the first two films. We get a lot more backstory on the mountains, the Tiger Temple introduced in part 2 and the early life of the father of the missing girl in part 2 who's also the Tiger Lord. Characters from the first film appear in the credits and after credits scenes so stick around for those. I hope this encourages more people to finish the trilogy. A review complained about the cgi but it looked like the same quality as the first two. No idea what they meant by that. I also hope they continue the story at some point while exploring more folk tales or urban legends. Really enjoyed this series.

worthy of being watched but don't expect too much

I don't know why some people who rated and wrote comments before me made too much bad words without them even finishing watching the movie. Vivian did a great acting in this movie. The other two related movies of this series(They also theme with The Little Girl Wearing Ref Dress) , like this one does, feature themselves with the plot "fighting with the devils from their hearts". What might be disappointing is that you would be let down if you're a fan of CG effects cuz they seem not to have spent too much on doing their CG. But it's sort of entertaining if you have some free time to kill.

Beautiful

Listen Hollywood! If you want real horror, then take notes. But don't try to copy it, you won't succeed.

Don't mind the silly name, The Tag-Along: The Devil Fish is inspired by the well-known Taiwanese urban legend, "The Little Girl in Red" and it's one of the scariest Taiwanese films with amazing cast and perfect direction.

Cinematography is the focal point of this film with each frame is carefully shot and processed.

Music in this film is thrilling and also horrifying with it's eerie presence and constant chilling beats.

This film utilised practical effects at it's entirety with low budget realistic VFX shots.

Vivian Hsu's mesmerizing and frightening performance saved this film from it's weak plot and meddled screenplay.

An awful attempt at horror

While I had never heard of this film, usually these type of films are great in building up the tension, the creepiness and the scares but this one failed on all of them.

Firstly I liked the story and it kept me intrigued to see what was going to happen. The acting was as usual with these type of films was good but then we get to the special effects of this movie which was one of two points that totally spoilt the film for me.

The first one was the cgi and special effects were down right awful, it was so bad that it took and tension that this movie had and removed it, after the first main effects in which the girl in red scuttles across the cars and climbs up a tree, this scene was so bad I laughed out loud.

Then there was the last battle in the forest, this was so badly done I almost turned the movie off.

Any ratin GB over three stars means the person had something to do with this awful movie.
