Thankfully, Netflix subscribers, we have reached that time in March when there are not a lot of things leaving. That normally happens close to the beginning of the month and certainly at the end. This means you mostly have a chance to catch shows and movies that are leaving your favorite streaming service for a couple more weeks.

But what is leaving in the next week? We have that information. For the most part, it's fine, and you do not need to stress. One fine film features the red-hot acting career of Paul Mescal. You might recognize him from Gladiator II or his hosting a recent episode of Saturday Night Live. Is he ready to be a star? The success of his next projects might decide that.

But getting back to our intentions here, there are four movies leaving Netflix in the next week. If you will miss any of the below then hurry up!

2025 is in full swing, and with March just around the corner, it’s time for you to look ahead at the movies and series scheduled to depart Netflix throughout the month of March. The biggest notable TV series leaving is The Mindy Project, while hit films like Scooby-Doo and Love Again, among others, are also set to depart.

As always, Netflix’s library is constantly evolving. That means new titles are always on the way, but because Netflix licenses titles from big distributors, they’re not always on Netflix forever. When this license (or rental period) comes to an end, the movie or series leaves Netflix.

Rhona Mitra was the star of TNT action drama The Last Ship from 2014-2015 before dropping out of the spotlight for several years, but now the British actress is poised to make a comeback with four upcoming movies. In the early and mid-'00s, Mitra bounced between television and film, appearing opposite Kevin Bacon in Hollow Man before joining the ensemble cast led by James Spader and William Shatner in the early seasons of Boston Legal, and playing the ancestor of Selene in the Underworld franchise.

She starred in the action-heavy sci-fi thriller Doomsday, about zombie hordes taking over the Earth, and joined Mark Wahlberg for The Shooter. Known for her commanding screen presence, in the post-apocalyptic series The Last Ship, Mitra played Dr. Rachel Scott, a beloved character who abruptly left the series after being formative in trying to find a cure for the mainland virus in its first two seasons.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios has undergone a big change in leadership today. Johan Pilestedt, the studio’s founder and director of the live-service sleeper hit, is stepping down as CEO to focus on his creative vision for the game and studio.

Pilestedt will transition to the role of Chief Creative Officer and Chairman, remaining heavily involved in the studio’s future. Shams Jorjani, a veteran of the games industry with extensive leadership experience, will take over the CEO position, and from the looks of it, keep the success rolling.

The martial arts sci-fi action franchise that launched with Skyline in 2010 is set to continue with Skyline: Warpath, from writer/director Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline). Deadline reports today that the newest installment has been acquired for U.S. distribution by XYZ Films.

Skyline: Warpath stars Iko Uwais (The Raid franchise) and Scott Adkins (John Wick: Chapter 4, Day Shift).

Set five years after the events of Beyond Skyline, the latest entry “follows Sua (Uwais) as he leads The Resistance against the aliens. When he discovers the powerful alien Radial Gauntlet, he must deal with both the corrupt Eric (Adkins) and the army of alien invaders.”

The acquisition news comes with a pair of first look images of Adkins and Uwais in action.

A new feature in Cities: Skylines 2 allows players to export excess water to earn extra money for their city. While that sounds simple in theory, and it is in practice, you must first clear a few hurdles before you can begin exporting your goods for a profit. However, because of the money you receive in return, it is well worth your time to pursue this lucrative money-making method early in the game.

As mentioned, exporting water is one of the ways you can make money fast in Cities: Skylines 2. In addition, you can export electricity to double your profits. However, you must prioritize making these services as efficient as possible early in the game. That way, you will put yourself in a position to sell excess resources. Because you can't sell what you don't have extra, ensure you produce plenty of water.

Choosing to export any electricity can be one of the best ways to earn money back in Cities: Skylines 2, especially during the early stages of the game. Expanding beyond city limits is notoriously difficult as you get started since you don't have too many sources of profit to match your ambitious budget. Only with some smart urban planning will you be able to generate a good source of income through your power system.

A good rule of thumb regarding electricity is that you should always generate more power than your city needs, and never just the bare minimum. Making money fast in Cities: Skylines 2 only comes after you put yourself into a good position to start taking risks. If you don't focus on creating a good amount of power from the beginning, you won't have the ability to spread that electricity out into new sections of the city you might want to construct.

Cities: Skylines 2 is currently experiencing significant performance issues, potentially hindering gameplay and preventing players from fully enjoying the game. The game's rendering of individual Npc teeth, without adjusting detail based on proximity or resource allocation, is unnecessarily draining performance and causing further issues. The developer, Colossal Order, used a character design tool that generated detailed NPCs without optimization, leading to the need for an overhaul or an implementation of a level of detail system to improve performance.

Cities: Skylines 2 has proven essentially unplayable for many people, and a potential reason for the situation is strangely granular and more than a little bit silly. As a follow-up to the hugely successful city building simulator Cities: Skylines, the newest game from developer Colossal Order Ltd. had some major shoes to fill. Rlje Films' new thriller The Dive follows two sisters on a deep-sea diving trip that turns into a fight for survival when one of them becomes trapped below the ocean. Director Maximilian Erlenwein drew inspiration from a Swedish film and his own passion for diving when creating The Dive. Filming underwater presented numerous challenges, including communication difficulties and safety concerns, but the cast and crew overcame them to create a realistic and thrilling movie experience.

Rlje Films' new thriller The Dive will be available to see in theaters beginning Friday, August 25th. The movie follows a pair of sisters who meet up for an annual vacation in spite of the growing distance between them. However, their deep-sea diving trip turns into a fight for survival when a landslide leaves May trapped 28 meters below the ocean. Desperate to save her sister, Drew must exhaust every possible option before May's oxygen runs out.

As summer must eventually come to an end, so must these titles’ time on Netflix.

With Halloween right around the corner, the streaming service will remove all eight seasons of “The Vampire Diaries,” as well as several thriller and horror films including “Nightcrawler,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “Seven” and “Insidious” so be sure to watch these spooky season classics before the end of the month.

The streaming service will no longer be the home for cherished TV series, including “Quantico,” “Saved by the Bell,” “Gotham” and “Dark Matter.” Netflix will also scrap classic titles, like “Catch Me If You Can,” “Mean Girls,” “Taxi Driver,” “Dirty Harry” and “Dumb and Dumber.”

Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline, Skylines) will direct Skyline Radial, the fourth installment in the series, from his own script, with the original producing team of the franchise returning to produce. Released in 2010, the original in the series, Skyline, co-written and produced by O’Donnell, was an international box office success and one of the more profitable films of the year.

O’Donnell went on to write and direct the subsequent two sequels, Beyond Skyline (review) and Skylines, (review) to success overseas.

Skyline Radial will center on the franchise’s beloved main character Rose Corley. When Rose and her crew embark on a daring mission to rescue her father, Mark, from a secret prison, they are confronted with the ultimate power of the universe: an ancient alien race known only as The Radial. The latest film is currently casting, with key cast expected to return. Production is slated to start this year.

Exclusive: Screen Media has picked up international sales rights to sci-fi action Skyline Radial and will have its Foresight Unlimited division, headed up by Mark Damon, shop the project to buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

The alliance was formed to increase the companies’ “collective power in the face of the changing landscape.”

Film and TV production outfit Komplizen, which was founded in 1999 by Janine Jackowski and Maren Ade, joins eleven other companies from across the world including Razor and Haut Et Court, the latter of which initiated the collective.

The companies work closely together in a number of ways, from sharing information, combining talent and networks and negotiating with common rules to co-production and partnerships. The Creatives also have a three-year development and funding partnership with Fremantle.

Ahead of the film’s world premiere at Locarno Film Festival, Variety has been given exclusive access to the debut trailer for “Hinterland,” the crime thriller from Austrian filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky, who won the Foreign Language Film Oscar with “The Counterfeiters.”

The film is a center-piece of the festival with a prestigious first weekend primetime premiere on Friday, Aug. 6 in the event’s iconic open-air venue, Piazza Grande. Beta Cinema, the film’s sales agent, is looking to close further deals out of Locarno to follow up on Cannes Pre-Screenings deals soon to be announced.

“Hinterland,” starring Murathan Muslu (“Pelican Blood”) and Liv Lisa Fries (“Babylon Berlin”), is set in Vienna in 1920, following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Altitude Film Sales has boarded high concept survival thriller “The Wreck” and will introduce the project to buyers at the upcoming Cannes virtual market.

Based on a screenplay by Nick Saltrese, the film will follow a group of old college friends who reunite on a Caribbean scuba diving trip exploring the wreckage of a WWII battleship and find themselves trapped inside the underwater labyrinth of rusted metal surrounded by great white sharks.

The film will be directed by Liam O’Donnell, who began his career working with Hydraulx VFX on projects including Fox’s “Alien vs. Predator: Requiem” (2007), Marvel’s “Iron Man 2” (2009) and Relativity/Universal’s “Skyline” (2010), which he produced and co-wrote. In 2017, O’Donnell wrote his directorial debut, “Beyond Skyline,” starring Frank Grillo, Bojana Novakovic and Iko Uwais. Recently, O’Donnell wrote and directed the trilogy capper “Skylines,” starring Lindsey Morgan, Rhona Mitra and Alexander Siddig.

Exclusive: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Game of Thrones alum Alexander Siddig has been tapped to star opposite Charlie Hunnam in Apple’s sweeping international drama series Shantaram, based on Gregory David Roberts’ bestselling novel. It hails from Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content.

Shot across two continents, Shantaram tells the story of Lin (Hunnam), a man on the run from an Australian prison looking to get lost in the teeming city of Bombay. Cut off from family and friends by distance and fate, he finds a new life in the slums, bars and underworld of India.

The first thing I liked about Skylines is the fact there are plenty of familiar faces who are dependable at providing strong performances.

Friday is here, and that can only mean one thing. The weekly barrage of new releases on VOD have arrived to tempt viewers to part with their hard-earned cash, and there are some real big hitters on offer. To sum up how badly the ongoing effects of the Coronavirus pandemic have affected the theatrical industry, The Croods: A New Age is now available to rent or buy, despite the animated sequel having topped the domestic box office for the last three weekends, and it’s still the number one movie in America as we speak.

This week’s marquee release, however, is undoubtedly Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which was once being touted as the summer blockbuster capable of single-handedly reviving the cinematic experience from the worst year in recent history. Obviously that wasn’t the case, and the $200 million action thriller is now looking to pull in some big numbers...

Frank Grillo might not be back but the follow-up to Beyond Skyline has it's own set of ass-kicking prowess in the mix.

Picking up where the sequel left off, Skylines the third movie in the unlikely franchise that keeps on giving, Lindsey Morgan plays Rose, the young girl with alien DNA who has grown at an alarming rate into a badass military leader and fighter. When a deadly virus starts to spread among the aliens left on earth, the resistance find an opportunity to send a team of highly trained personnel to the alien homeworld in an effort to end the war once-and-for-all but, of course, political machinations are at play and things are never as simple as go there, kill the aliens, and come home safe.

To celebrate the release of Skylines, the third and final part of the Skyline trilogy, we sat down with its eclectic cast and filmmakers to find out all about the thrilling third chapter.

Set several years after Skyline and Beyond Skyline, Skylines sees the remaining soldiers on the invaded Earth take the fight to them, heading to their home planet of Colbalt1 to save us all after those aliens living peacefully soon become hostile due to a deadly virus.

Director Liam O’Donnell tells us of the unique challenges of making a third film – and, yes, talk of Batman, Godfather, and more are discussed – whilst still breaking new ground with the story. While cast members Lindsey Morgan, Alexander Siddig, and Daniel Bernhardt tell us about the thrill of making the film and, despite its vast, sci-fi action nature, there are much deeper messages and themes in it than the audience may expect.
