Timothée Chalamet Kylie Jenner Oscars Exit (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Timothée Chalamet made a quiet yet deliberate move at the Oscars, momentarily leading Kylie Jenner away from the spotlight, just as his ex, Lily-Rose Depp, took the stage.
It wasn’t a coincidence as the actor, keen on shielding Jenner from unnecessary scrutiny, ensured cameras had no chance to capture her reaction to his former flame’s big moment.

Kylie Jenner’s Fragile State
At 27, Jenner has been in a vulnerable state, still mourning the loss of her beloved hairstylist and close friend, Jesús Guerrero. His sudden passing at just 34 left her devastated, and Chalamet, ever the supportive boyfriend, has been doing all he can to provide comfort.

Like with any other job in the world, it's not unusual for television stars to move on and see if the grass is greener somewhere else. However, there are controversial actor exits that single handedly ruined popular TV shows and had everyone -- fans and network executives included -- freaking out about how they could recover from such massive blows. Spoiler alert: They don't. While the series often lurch along like the characters in a George A. Romero film (sometimes even for multiple seasons), the spark fizzles out, leaving weak remnants of what once was magical.
For instance, can anyone say that "Two and a Half Men" was better off without Charlie Sheen'? Sure, the sitcom tried to replace him with a big-name star in the form of Ashton Kutcher, but finding the laughter on this show from the ninth season onward required the help of a private investigator.

Gravitas Ventures is set to release “Grassland,” a feature drama executive produced by Common, in April after acquiring U.S. and Canadian rights.
“Grassland” is William Bermudez and Sam Friedman’s directorial debut (the duo also penned the screenplay). It follows a Latina mother whose son gets to know a new neighborhood boy and his grandfather, a cop. The event puts the mother, who runs a marijuana operation, and the young Black man aiding her business, in danger. The film takes place in New Jersey amidst the 2008 recession and Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

The rookies were going rogue!
In many ways, I’d love to have more reservations about the rookies.
The series dumped Thorsen so abruptly that it still stings, and installments like The Rookie Season 7 Episode 3 spend a surprising amount of time with these new characters.
(Disney/Carlos Lopez-Calleja)
They should get under my skin more, but the truth is, they don’t! They’re so purely entertaining that it’s been easy to embrace them.
The installment wasn’t flawless; it was far from that. The hour had one of the notable balance issues that sometimes plague the series.
And a couple of storylines brewing that are already on the cusp of becoming irksome beyond words.
But when it comes down to what makes this such a fun and entertaining hour, all the credit belongs to the rookies and an unexpected visit from Rachel that gave us some bits of a Chenford plot.

As the saying goes, sisterhood is powerful. It can also be maddening, enlightening, stifling, fortifying, and fascinating. Or in the case of Katie, Christina, and Rachel — played in the drama His Three Daughters by Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne, respectively — all of the above. Those seemingly contradictory complexities were precisely what writer-director Azazel Jacobs wanted to explore when he sat down to write the film, which sees the women convene at their father’s rent-controlled lower Manhattan apartment to support him at the end of his life. It’s a story about “sisters realizing not only their differences, but what’s connected them all these years and what could connect them after their parent is gone,” explains the French Exit filmmaker.
What surprised Jacobs was how this particular sisterhood so easily poured onto the page — and how he realized he was writing exclusively for Coon, Olsen, and Lyonne...

Kevin Costner's "Yellowstone" exit ahead of season 5 part 2 is still a topic of conversation, even though many of the details surrounding it are still unclear. The rumors claim that he left following a behind-the-scenes fallout with creator Taylor Sheridan and a desire to focus on his "Horizon: An American Saga" project. Whatever the reason, though, Costner's departure resulted in a breakdown in communication with co-star Luke Grimes, who revealed his surprising reaction to the drama.
Grimes has discussed Costner's "Yellowstone" exit in the past, noting that he understands why the John Dutton actor left the series. While speaking to Esquire, however, Grimes revealed that Costner's absence from the set made season 5's final episodes easier to shoot:
"Hopefully everyone can see that it was time ... To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin being gone that meant some of the conflict was gone. Obviously, it didn't make...

Netflix's La Palma includes a great cast of both seasoned and new actors. Directed by Kasper Barfoed, the non-English language Netflix original series follows a group of characters on the westernmost island in the Canary Islands called La Palma as they are faced with a dangerous ecological crisis. The series' combination of familial loyalty, great visual effects, and an engaging storyline has made it a hit on the streaming platform.
Although several movies and TV shows depict natural disasters, there is something unique about La Palma. The series is intriguing from its very first episode and gets better as more information is revealed. The Netflix miniseries’ cast members all give an outstanding performance and perfectly portray the fear that comes with knowing that the world might be coming to an end.

Well, if you have been keeping tabs on all the recent rumors and were thinking that Troy Baker’s involvement in Naughty Dog’s new project could only mean The Last of Us Part 3, you might want to take a seat. According to the latest reports, it’s true that Baker will be working with the studio again, but not in the way many fans were hoping.
Fans are excited to see what Baker will take part in. | Image Credit: Naughty Dog
However, instead of playing Joel Miller in The Last of Us 3, Baker’s next role seems to be attached to a whole new project directed by Neil Druckmann. While fans might have been hoping for the return of their favorite survivor, this news could be a bit of a gut punch for those who still hope to see Joel in another chapter in The Last of Us saga.

Dramas about death are hard to get right, yet His Three Daughters handles the difficult topic with grace. Death is the singularly most tragic thing most people have to deal with in their lives, meaning that it’s far too simple to lean on it as a crutch to get emotional reactions from the audience. Writer/director Azazel Jacobs clearly understands that, crafting a marvelously authentic story about three sisters growing apart and coming back together in His Three Daughters.

Most fans consider Simu Liu's bus fight as the standout action sequence in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The actor revealed how his training scene with Michelle Yeoh became a personal favorite.
Simu Liu had nothing but praise for Michelle Yeoh's grace and physicality in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Aware of Yeoh's impressive performances in martial arts films like Supercop, The Touch, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Liu recalled their fight scene in Shang-Chi bordered on the surreal. Shang-Chi knew how to fight but still had a lot to learn early in the film (as demonstrated by his awkward yet effective moves during the bus fight sequence); Liu told Collider he didn't need to try hard to sell his clumsy stunts in the film. This was highlighted in Shang-Chi's training scene with Yeoh's character Ying Nan, whose fighting style uses Tai chi techniques.

The Next Nordic Generation competition strand of the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund is where some of the most gifted talents from the Nordics such as Gustav Møller (“The Guilty”) or Katrine Brocks (“The Great Silence”) pitched their graduation films in recent years, before making their international breakthroughs.
This year’s curated program of 10 graduation films from Nordic film schools will be showcased Aug. 21 in Haugesund, Norway.
The 10 short films were selected by a jury consisting of producer Elisa Fernanda Pirir of Stær Film, filmmakers Gunnbjörg Gunnarsdóttir (“Victoria Must Go”) and Fredrik S. Hana (“Code Name: Nagasaki”), in association with program coordinator Christian Høkaas.
“Fear, confusion, dark humor, power, anxiety and love. Anger, love, power. This year’s slate offers a lot of strong emotions, in-keeping with the Scandinavian tradition of dark humour and relationship drama,” said Pirir who’s enjoyed the “playful and daring selection.”

Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole is a whodunnit serial killer mystery led by famed anti-hero detective Harry Hole (Santelmann). Underneath the surface, this series is a nuanced character drama about two police officers — and supposed colleagues — operating on opposite sides of the law. General Hospital spoilers tease that Ava Jerome (Maura West) sold Wyndemere months ago, supposedly to a developer. But recently, John Cates (Adam Harrington) mentioned that the gothic mansion was still empty, but intact.

Now that Jason knows that Ava was partly responsible for Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Bernard) medication swap, Ava’s life could be in serious jeopardy. She’s going to need a place to hide from her enemies and Wyndemere might just be the place. But she may make a huge mistake if she confides in Cates where she plans to hide.

One of the best films I saw at TIFF last year is finally getting a release nearly a year after its premiere. Netflix picked up Azazel Jacob’s deeply moving drama His Three Daughters, starring Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne, and now will be launching it to kick off their awards season slate. Ahead of its September 6 theatrical release and September 20 Netflix debut, the first trailer has arrived.
Here’s the synopsis: “From writer-director Azazel Jacobs comes this bittersweet and often funny story of an elderly patriarch and the three grown daughters who come to be with him in his final days. Katie (Carrie Coon) is a controlling Brooklyn mother dealing with a wayward teenage daughter; free-spirited Christina (Elizabeth Olsen) is a different kind of mom, separated from her offspring for the first time; and Rachel (Natasha Lyonne) is a sports-betting stoner who has never left her father...

In the upcoming episodes of Days of Our Lives, viewers will witness the heart-wrenching storyline involving Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Johnny Dimera (Carson Boatman). The couple are dealt a devastating blow. And they discover the loss of their unborn child. This leads to an emotional rollercoaster that extends to their family and friends.
Their journey through grief takes them on an unexpected path on Days of Our Lives. Especially as they grapple with blaming Johnny’s mother, Paulina Price (Jackee Harry), for their misfortune. Spoilers indicate that the couple will be leaving Salem temporarily. So, this sparks speculation about a potential ‘rainbow baby’ upon their return.
The term ‘rainbow baby’ refers to a child conceived after a miscarriage or neonatal loss. And symbolizes hope after a storm. The storyline is a poignant reminder of the harsh realities many face. But it also offers a beacon of hope for the couple’s future.

Exclusive: Netflix’s urban fantasy drama The Grimm Reality will not see the light of day. We’ve learned that the series from Dark producer Wiedemann & Berg and The Gryphon co-producer Dog Haus Films has been quietly shelved.
The Grimm Reality first went into development at Netflix’s German base and then into production in late 2022. We understand filming had completed, but it will not move further forwards at Netflix.
Plot details on the show were not revealed, but it was assumed to be based on the Brothers Grimm folklore tales of the 18th and 19th centuries. The series was billed a “fairy tale urban fantasy thriller,” according to What’s on Netflix, which initially broke the news of the show.
Show creators were Till Kleinert (Der Samurai) and Dog Haus’ Erol Yesilkaya, who is a producer and scriptwriter. Actors including Hyuan Wanner, Patrick Isermeyer, Eidin Jalali and Dennis Schuermann were cast.

Rajinikanth To Top The Kollywood Box Office With Thalapathy Vijay’s Exit & Upcoming Big Films?(Photo Credit –IMDb)
After Jailer’s super success, it seems that Rajinikanth will be unstoppable at the box office. The reason behind it is the exciting lineup of upcoming films, which carry a huge potential of setting ticket windows on fire. Other than that, Thalapathy Vijay’s decision to step away from films is going to prove beneficial to Thalaiva. Keep reading to know more!
For those who don’t know, Thalapathy Vijay is arguably the biggest superstar in Kollywood at the present moment. Of course, Vijay’s position is highly debatable as many still believe that Rajinikanth is still ruling the roost. But considering the box office openings, worldwide performance of the films in the last few years, hold over the state of Tamil Nadu, and potential growth in the future, Vijay is said to be slightly ahead.

General Hospital Comings & Goings: Gregory Chase Wraps it Up
Gh comings and goings sadly report Gregory Chase’s time on the sudser is officially over. Fans have known for quite some time now that he would pass away sooner rather than later due to his Als. The disease takes away a person’s ability to function little by little until they can no longer function at all.
So, viewers likely thought Gregory would have more time. Also, many were hoping for a misdiagnosis so the Gregory could get a cure and stick around. Sadly, that wasn’t the case and he passed away in his sleep due to heart failure the night of his son Harrison Chase’s wedding.

The name Harry Hole may sound like a joke to a lot of English speakers, but Norwegian author Jo Nesbø has managed to build a bestselling series of crime novels around the character – whose last name is meant to be pronounced as “Hoo-leh.” There have been thirteen books in the Harry Hole series to date, with the seventh one having previously been brought to the screen as the 2017 film The Snowman… which, despite having Tomas Alfredson at the helm, Martin Scorsese on board as a producer, and a strong cast that included Michael Fassbender as Hole, did not turn out well. (You can read our 3/10 review Here.) Now Nesbø is seeking redemption for his character by teaming with Working Title and the Netflix streaming service for a series called Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole, which is set to star Tobias Santelmann (The Last Kingdom) as Hole. Netflix and Working Title have found their Harry Hole.
German-Norwegian actor Tobias Santelmann (The Last Kingdom) will play the lead in the Jo Nesbø adaptation, which will be officially titled Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole.
Santelmann is joined by Joel Kinnaman (Altered Carbon, The Suicide Squad) playing Tom Waaler and Pia Tjelta (Made in Oslo, State of Happiness) as Rakel Fauke. The casting has been announced in the past few minutes at the iconic restaurant Schrøder in Oslo, Norway, which also serves as Harry Hole’s ‘second home’ in the novels.
Created by the much-loved Scandi crime fiction author, Nesbø’s Harry Hole is a whodunnit serial killer mystery led by the famed anti-hero. Underneath the surface, it is a nuanced character drama about two police officers – and supposed colleagues – operating on opposite sides of the law. Throughout the first season, Harry goes head-to-head with his long time adversary and corrupt detective Tom Waaler.

Burnt Flowers, the new film from writer/director Michael Fausti, begins with a series of scenes swiftly moving back and forth between London’s Rose Bar in 1968, Islington in 1983 and the Islington Police Station in 1992.
The last location is where Detective Franc Alban has a visitor, Alice Kyteller. She’s there to report a missing person, her husband Austin whom she last saw eight years ago in a brothel. Why has she waited so long to report him missing? “I thought he might come back”. She can’t offer any information and hasn’t so much as asked his friends about him, but she is sure that she and Detective Alban have met before.
If all of this sounds strange, you haven’t seen anything yet. The director...

Elizabeth Taylor remains one of the most iconic actresses to ever grace the silver screen. And she knew it, coming out of a partial retirement to play the role of Pearl Slaghoople – the mother to Elizabeth Perkins’ Wilma and mother-in-law to John Goodman’s Fred – in 1994’s The Flintstones, an adaptation of the Hanna-Barbera production. But getting such prestige comes at a high cost. Like, a present every day she was on set-level of cost.
While Elizabeth Taylor isn’t in much of The Flintstones, her sheer stature put her in a position to demand just about anything she wanted, to which producer Bruce Cohen was happy to oblige. Kyle MacLachlan – who played Slate & Co.’s VP Cliff Vandercave in The Flintstones – remembered, “The cast was crazy. Bruce got Elizabeth Taylor to do that movie. It was amazing. She had to have a gift every day. A gift every day.

“’I sacrificed my love on the altars of fame,’ Leonard Cohen said in the ‘70s,” “So Long, Marianne” showrunner Øystein Karlsen notes. Cohen was referring of course to his ‘60s decade-long relationship with Norway’s Marianne Ilhen, which shaped him for life.
One of the highest-profile and most anticipated world premieres in Series Mania main competition, “So Long, Marianne” is a coming of age love story which, in a quietly innovative, genre-breaking turn, asks whether the place in the world chosen by one character, Leonard Cohen, was always for his good.
Sold by Cineflix Rights as an eight-part series, “So Long, Marianne” begins in 1959 focusing on Norway’s Marianne Ilhen and Cohen’s love idyll on Hydra, a Greek island, which Ilhen reaches as the partner of budding Norwegian novelist Axel Jensen, and Cohen looking to find a place where, he says in Episode 1, he “can take responsibility for my own identity.

Leonard Cohen had a huge impact on generations of fans, and So Long, Marianne star Alex Wolff is one of them.
Speaking exclusively to Deadline ahead of So Long‘s worldwide premiere at Series Mania this week, Oppenheimer and Hereditary actor Wolff paid tribute to the late singer-songwriter. “His contribution to my life has been so substantial that whatever words I have don’t sum up what he’s meant to my working life and to me personally,” he said.
Wolff, who is himself a musician and recording artist, plays Cohen in So Long, Marianne, which is one of the buzziest international series at Series Mania, which is Europe’s largest scripted television festival. The Nrk and Crave series is the International Competition category against the likes of Peacock’s Apples Never Fall and the ABC’s House of Gods.
