A second film from the Psych gang

Psych, be it the series or a TV movie, is good for what ails you.

It was so great to see the boys together again, and wonderful that Timothy Omundson was able to appear. He seems to be recovering from his stroke - let's hope he continues to recover even more.

James Roday Rodriguez and Dule Hill are a scream as always, and they manage to bring back crazy Woody the coroner, as well as Juliet and the Chief.

My only disappointment was that I wasn't sure where the heck they were. I know they were in Santa Barbara and moved to San Francisco, but then at one point it seemed like they were in Santa Barbara again. Or am I nuts.

Bring on more Psych. By the way, Dule Hill's real wife played his girlfriend, and at the time of her filming, she was 8-1/2 months pregnant. The director was afraid she was going to go into labor at some point during her three day filming.

A little disappointed. Something missing. Preferred 1st movie.

I was happy to see Lassiter back & with Sean & Gus coming to help investigate. Catch phrases were said but I thought original witty banter & cultural references was less than usual. I liked brief scene between Henry & Shawn but wished he & the other cast members appeared for more than what felt like quick cameos. The dream scene was dumb & went on too long. The who & why of the crime left me confused. Im rewatching 1st movie now & think its much funnier & more like the series. I really hope theyll being back Despereaux in the next movie. UPDATE: Its an homage to Hitchcock films. I will look at references again.

I missed Psych

It's one of my favourite detective show to watch so I was very excited to see Psych 2. It's just as much fun as the show but I honestly wished it was a bit longer, the ending to me kinda felt rushed & abrupt. Don't get me wrong, it was still fun to watch but I was hoping for more. I wish Lassie had more to do, the boys of course are always fun to watch whenever they're on the screen with their amateur shenanigans. All in all, it was good, light & absolute delight to see the gang back on screen. Hopefully they make another one.

Edit - I had no idea regarding Timothy Omundson suffering from stroke, thank you reviewer jwwalrath-227-85487 for bringing that to my attention.

A Great Tribute

I love everything about Psych and was so excited to see they were doing a 2nd movie. The quirky antics are refreshing to watch and always bring a laugh. It was nice to see this movie tie in the mystery and surprises as they have in the past.

What I liked the best though, was how this movie was centered around Lassiter and his stroke. This movie hit home because my father had a massive stroke at 39 and just like Timothy Omundson (Lassiter) his speech, processing speed, and arms/body were affected. They could have looked over this, casted a new role, ignored the stroke ever happened, but they didn't. They worked with Timothy and treated him with the respect he deserves. And Timothy Omundson showed off how even through a disability you still have so many abilities and strengths. The whole cast and team showed their support and I for one, can't thank them enough.

The movie was funny, goofy, sincere, and exactly what I hoped it would be.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

I don't know how this movie will be received by folks who haven't watched the original show; but for the psych-os, it was great! The plot was very much like an extended episode of Psych. It was a little hard to follow in the beginning, like they cut a scene or something. I wish we had seen more "psychic" Shawn and maybe more relationship progression with Juliet

I enjoyed it more than the first one

After being shot multiple times, Lassiter is convalescing in a swanky hospital when he notices some strange, possibly supernatural, happenings. Not wanting to go through official channels and have people believe he's crazy, he calls on Shawn and Gus to unravel the mystery. Much hilarity ensues.

In general, sequels never seem to be as good as the first film in a series. I say "in general", because in this case, I enjoyed Psych 2 much more than the first Psych movie. Why? Well, there are a number of reasons. First, Psych 2 felt more like the show. I loved Psych (the series) so anything that gave me that nostalgic feeling is going to be a winner with me. The first film was a bit overblown, with multiple WWE guest stars. Psych 2 is much more low-key - like the series. Second, the comedy seems more natural. I thought a lot of the comedy in the first movie felt forced. The natural chemistry between James Roday and Dule HIll is here. I actually laughed out loud on several occasions. The bit where Shawn and Gus investigate the Viking bar was hysterical. Admittedly, not all of the humor worked (the foot tickling scene as an example), but most hit the mark. Third, I suppose I enjoyed Psych 2 more because my expectations weren't as high. In all honesty, I probably went into Psych expecting far too much. Psych 2 was always going to benefit from this. Whatever the reason, overall, Psych 2's a winner with me.

It was also nice to see Timothy Omundson back as Lassiter. While it's obvious he's not his old self, I applaud the way the writers worked his physical limitations into the film. Nice move.

I'm not sure how the TV ratings were, but I hope they were good enough for a Psych 3. I'd love to see more Psych movies for years to come.

Excellent!

I didn't even know this was being made. When I saw it, I felt such excitement. Then I watched it and felt such glee. While I enjoyed the first Psych movie, I didn't think it lived up to the series. Psych 2, however, I would rank among its best "episodes."

for the fans... maybe

Great series but all series must come to an end. Not funny. Many of the jokes are flat. Clock is ticking on this extended franchise.

Absolutely Wonderful

Everything we want in a Psych experience plus a wonderful tribute to Lassie/Timothy Omundson. The whole Psych gang's love for each other is evident in every second. Bravo!

Solid addition to the series

Probably the only good thing to come from 2020. The ending was nice, and it's just as good as the show. Definitely better than the first movie in my opinion.

Almost Fantastic

This movie was good. Except for all the sex jokes/references and the twist at the very, very ending (that was a huge downer), it was fun and enjoyable.

PsychO Pineapple

It is good good to see these guys back together again. Hopefully we will not have to wait another 3 years for another one. Good job Peacock. It is very funny and a good mystery for them to solve. All the cast is back and some special guest stars from earlier episodes.

Tribute to Timothy Omundson is heartwarming

The mystery is fun and it's really wonderful to see the gang back together especially Timothy Omundson after suffering a massive stroke.

It has some clever moments and it's pretty entertaining. Plot was a little messy and the crude jokes really missed the mark and were downright gross and often felt out of place and forced.

I'm hoping this was due to the lack of quality of writers and editors working during the pandemic, and that Psyche 3 will be better with clever double entendre or racy jokes instead of crude and gross.

Psycho!

Yes, it was a little predictable, but for true fans it's a joy to see your favorite characters in a new setting!

Listen I was a little tipsy the first go around so I will definitely be watching again, but give it a go and let's all hope for psych 3!!!!

Really enjoyed it....

For me this is much better than the first movie... which was good but this movie was like the shows I remember. Loved seeing the old crew together but felt so sad that Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) was still recovering from his stroke and wasn't able to play his character to its fullest potential.... For fun and entertainment I recommend this to old Psych fans or Psych virgins...!

Long time fans of the series!

This was everything you expect from the show! They absolutely delivered exactly what made us love Psych. Of course this movie is great on it's own, but is all the better for those who know and love the characters and the actors who have invested in them. My wife, kids, and I have watched all the seasons multiple times, and we are excited and hopeful for even more movies!
