- Dan Hammer: Guys around bars talk. Anything you can find out will be worth fifty.
- Maxine Manning: No thanks. That wouldn't keep me in aspirin.
- [Hammer, annoyed with a bar hustler, sends him crashing into a table]
- Bar proprietor: You shouldn't do that, Mr. Hammer. It gives the place a bad reputation.
- Dan Hammer: Give me a worse reputation.
- Dan Hammer: [Hammer finds Maxine lying unconscious in his trashed office and pours some liquor onto her face.] C'mon, wake up; wake up.
- Maxine Manning: [the liquid spills over her face and some gets into her mouth; she chokes and coughs.] Oooh, cheap rum.
- Dan Hammer: Sorry, it's no champagne.
- Maxine Manning: [Rubbing her head.] Boy, you're still just as subtle as your name.
- Dan Hammer: [Hammer and Maxine have just had a fight with Molinar and his henchmen. Hammer is trying to get his necktie off] You alright?
- Maxine Manning: Yeah I'm alright. But he got away with the map
- Dan Hammer: [Maxine and Hammer eventually manage to wrench the necktie off] See what I mean about neck ties. Call the police before those hooligans wake up. Get Domingues I'll be with that czech, I'll be right back.
- [Hammer leaves to retrive the map from Molinar]
