Hollywood is a pressure cooker of talent, ambition, and, of course, drama. With fame comes competition, and with competition comes some of the biggest celebrity feuds. Whether it’s actors clashing over roles, musicians battling for the top spot on the charts, or directors and stars butting heads over creative differences, the entertainment world is never short of rivalries.
Sometimes it’s a friendly tension, other times it spirals into a full-blown war, especially when egos, relationships, and big money are involved. Some stars simply can’t stand each other, and when their disagreements spill into the public eye, it’s impossible to look away. Fans take sides, social media erupts, and what starts as a private spat often turns into a headline-grabbing saga.
From career battles to personal vendettas, here are the celebrity feuds of all time that had everyone talking!

Tituss Burgess will take over the lead role in Oh, Mary! this spring.
Burgess will play Mary Todd Lincoln for three weeks starting March 18 through April 6. He takes over the role from Betty Gilpin, who took over the role starting Jan. 21.
Cole Escola, who wrote the play, originated the role of Mary Off-Broadway and through the show’s Broadway transfer.
Burgess, known for his roles in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Schmigadoon!, has previously appeared on Broadway in Moulin Rouge!, Guys and Dolls, The Little Mermaid and more.
“Oh, Mary! blew me away when I saw it on Broadway. Cole Escola is a genius!” Burgess said. “The show is fresh and impossibly funny. I understand the role of Mary Todd Lincoln maybe a little too well. I’m over the moon with joy that I get to join the company at The Lyceum Theatre.”

This claim, included in Universal’s thorough and impressive list of box office achievements for 2024, is technically true: “Domestically ‘Wicked‘ is now … the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation of all-time at the domestic office ahead of ‘Grease’ ($188.62M).”
Also technically true is that “The Grinch” is bigger than “Gone with the Wind,” “Sing” is bigger than “Jaws,” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is bigger than “The Godfather.” Also, the 1977 first “Star Wars” is only the third biggest success of that franchise.
Presenting grosses without adjusting skews the real picture of how they compare. It is a prime case of film history erasure, an all-too common occurrence these days. The somewhat (but not impossible in most cases) effort to sort out the true success of films through history starts with adjusting box office takes to current ticket prices. Normally, that is fairly simple, since we know the costs by year and can do the math.

It is quite fascinating to see how life trains people for what they are going to become, through things that often appear unrelated. Getting into Hollywood was not a dream for many celebrities who are big stars now, as they had completely different aspirations before. Such seemingly unrelated first steps set them up for success in ways they couldn’t have imagined, and Tom Cruise is a really good example of this.

Cruise, known for performing his own death-defying stunts in blockbuster franchises like Mission: Impossible and Top Gun, had a different kind of physical challenge in mind during his high school days. Before he became one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors, he was trying all sorts of career choices, and one of them happened to be grappling on wrestling mats.

Jonathan Kimble Simmons, aka J.K. Simmons, is the Academy Award-winning actor who first came to fame as a song-and-dance man on Broadway. He then segued to a celebrated career in television and finally began an illustrious film career that has endured for 30+ years.

Ever since just after punk music's messy birth amid the ascent of the Ramones and the Sex Pistols in 1975, there have been punks accusing each other of not being punk enough. That accusation has been levied for pretty much every reason imaginable, but most commonly the cries of "sellout" have been linked to the music not being hard enough, which led to the genesis of pop punk.
While "real" or "traditional" punk music is generally steeped in anti-authoritarian and anti-establishment ideologies, its poppier cousin tends to take itself a little less seriously, and has since given birth to subgenres like skate punk and power pop. For all the name has been used derisively, though, there's no denying pop punk is a genre with mass appeal and decades of history, and pop punk is very much not dead. Here are some of the greatest albums in that history, from pop punk's...

Jack Jones, a singer who found fame and chart success on the easy-listening side of the street in the 1960s, and who later became etched in television-watching America’s psyche with the “Love Boat” theme, died Wednesday at 86.
Jones died of leukemia at a hospital in Rancho Mirage, Calif., his wife of 15 years, Eleanora Jones, said.
Jones had hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, but his highest chart numbers could be found on what was then known as the easy listening chart, which later became adult contemporary. Marshall and his long-time producing partner, John DeLuca, will write the script with John Requa & Glenn Ficarra, whose previous credits include Crazy Stupid Love, Bad Santa, and Jungle Cruise. Sonys TriStar Pictures will produce the film as they acquired the remake rights from MGM, the original short stories, and the Broadway musical.

The best Rita Moreno movies and TV shows include at least one musical that is considered among the greatest of all time and another that is beloved by millions. Moreno was born in Puerto Rico and moved to New York City with her mother when she was five and began taking dancing lessons before getting her first Broadway role when she was only 13. That led to a massively successful career on the stage, where she appeared in Guys and Dolls, The Odd Couple, and Sunset Boulevard, among others.
Moreno parlayed that success into movies and TV, and she has since become an Egot recipient, winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. In a 15-year span, Moreno won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar (1961), Best Album for Children Grammy (1973), Best Featured Actress in a Play Tony (1975), and Outstanding Outstanding Continuing or Single Performance by a Supporting Actress in Variety or Music...

Rob Marshall is in talks to direct a film adaptation of Frank Loesser’s “Guys and Dolls,” the classic Broadway musical and 1955 film of the same name, for TriStar Pictures, according to an insider with knowledge of the project.
John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are in talks to write the screenplay with Marshall and John DeLuca. John Goldwyn, Marc Toberoff and Marc Platt are producing with Marshall and DeLuca.
Previously, the studio purchased the rights to the original short stories written by Damon Runyon that inspired the musical, to the Broadway musical book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows and its music by Loesser, as well as the remake rights to the ’55 film “Guys and Dolls” as released by the Samuel Goldwyn Company.
Runyon originally wrote the short stories “The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown,” “Pick the Winner” and “Blood Pressure” about a gambler and his relationship with a missionary girl.

There was a time when if someone could act, sing, and dance, they were called a "triple threat." The idea was that they were viable, versatile performers for both stage dramas and musicals, making them a threat to any actor who only had talent for one or two of the above techniques. In modern cinema, where musicals are largely out of vogue, the "triple threat" might now refer to someone who can act, perform martial arts, and do their own stunts. In the modern landscape, fighting is more common than dancing.
Many actors, however, still undergo voice and dance training on the regular, wanting to be as versatile as possible. Many modern film actors, one might find, started on the stage, sometimes belting out some of Broadway's most famous showtunes, before becoming genre stars on the big screen. Case in point: Hugh Jackman. Jackman rose to worldwide fame in 2000 after...

It’s no wonder that Tom Cruise performs risky stunts for his films since he has a background in wrestling. "Barney Miller" may not be one of the most talked-about sitcoms of the '70s these days, but perhaps it should be. The NYPD-set show was in some ways the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" of its time, a socially conscious, funny series that set its action squarely in the precinct where members of the public came to ask the authorities for help -- or get arrested by them.
Like most shows about cops, it has its inherent biases, and some parts of the show have aged poorly. But "Barney Miller" is also surprisingly progressive at times. As TV historian Matt Baume writes in his queer sitcom history "Hi Honey, I'm Homo," the show broke new ground for gay characters on TV, facing off against network censors to portray New York's Greenwich Village neighborhood (post-Stonewall!) with authenticity and diversity.
Only two seasons of "Barney Miller" are currently available to rent digitally in the U.

Did you know that a 1955 feature film starred Frank Sinatra, one of the greatest singers to ever live, and Marlon Brando, one of the greatest actors to ever live? While this historic combination led to a delightfully comedic gangster musical, a bitter feud ignited between the two leading men. The movie in question is Guys and Dolls, and it's somewhat surprising that such a lighthearted and enjoyable Oscar nominee featured so much behind-the-scenes drama.

“Every season we’ve had some sort of theme or inspiration for Mabel’s costumes,” reveals Dana Covarrubias when referencing the character played by Selena Gomez on “Only Murders in the Building.” While the main players in the Hulu comedy mount a Broadway musical, eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed that Mabel’s outfits get a theatrical flair as well. The Emmy-nominated costume designer incorporated a nod to Broadway musicals into nearly every outfit that Mabel wears during Season 3. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“We thought it would be appropriate to use Broadway musicals and movie musicals as our inspiration,” continues Covarrubias. This doesn’t mean that Mabel is suddenly donning a Ziegfeld follies getup with sequins and feathers. Daniel Mays remembers Michael Douglas and Timothy Van Patten, the respectively star and director of new Apple TV drama Franklin, bursting into song whenever he appeared on set.
It came about because during the Franklin shoot in Paris, director Nicholas Hytner asked Mays to star at London’s Bridge Theatre as good old reliable Nathan Detroit in an immersive production of the classic Broadway fable Guys & Dolls by Frank Loesser, Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling.
Upon hearing this news, Douglas insisted, ”You’re doing it, Danny — no question about it.”
The adaption of Damon Runyon’s tales was Van Patten’s father’s favorite musical, “so then within the hour, more like a whole bloody second, every time I came on set, they kept playing ‘The Oldest Established [Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York], and Michael and Noah Jupe would join in.”
Even the French crew got in the swing of it.

On what would be his 100th birthday, Marlon Brando remains synonymous not with acting, but great acting — even if this ranked list of all his performances represents what may be the most wildly uneven filmography for any talent of his caliber. But that’s the power of Brando: A handful of his performances are so great and influential they shook up the art of acting forever. Even among his lesser performances, there’s compelling work deserving of rediscovery.
In order to best exemplify what made him such a singular onscreen presence, we ranked all 39 of his films (and one TV appearance), reflecting a spectrum as wide as the man’s broad shoulders. Based on the quality of Brando’s performances rather than the overall films themselves, there are some placements that may surprise you; for example, as great as Brando is in “The Godfather,” it’s still just the fourth-best...

With his victory on Monday at the Critics’ Circle Theatre awards, Andrew Scott has made history. The Irish performer, recognized as best actor for his one-man West End show, “Vanya,” previously was named best actor at the 2024 Critics’ Circle Film Awards for his performance in “All of Us Strangers.” He’s the first person to win lead actor Critics’ Circle prizes in both film and television in the same year.
“It’s a thrilling delight,” Scott says. “I’ve been involved with both film and theater ever since I started acting when I was 17 years old. I’ve always worked between the two mediums. So to have these two projects, which were very dear to me, be recognized is more than I could have wished for.”
In the case of “Vanya,” Simon Stephens’ adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya,” Scott played all of the show’s eight roles. That was a herculean task,...

Guys and Dolls, a beloved musical movie, received critical acclaim in 1955, but plans for a remake have not materialized. Despite early announcements for a remake in 2013 and Bill Condon signing on as director in 2021, there has been little progress. No updates on casting or expected release dates have been released since 2021, making the remake's future uncertain.
The 1955 movie Guys and Dolls is undoubtedly one of the greatest musical movies ever made, but there were remake plans that haven't come to fruition. Adapted from the 1950 musical, Guys and Dolls looked at the lives of gamblers and missionaries living in the hustle of New York City; it tells the overlapping stories of high-rolling gambler Sky Masterson and bundling con artist Nathan Detroit. To earn enough money for a location for his game, Nathan bets Sky to take a woman to Havana on a date, choosing the uptight missionary Sarah Brown; Sky agrees to the bet,...
