Over the course of his 30 year career, Bracken served as editor for a roster of television classics, including “Columbo,” “The Bold Ones” and “Ironside.” He spent a particularly fruitful number of years working for Oscar-nominated producer Ross Hunter, editing films “The Thrill of It All” and “Madame X,” miniseries “The Moneychangers” and NBC drama “A Family Upside Down,” which starred Fred Astaire and Helen Hayes.

Comedy icon Carl Reiner passed away on June 29th at the age of 98 years. He pulled televised comedy through the ‘50s and ‘60s before jumping onto the big screen as an actor, writer and director. It was fitting that a guy who gave octogenarian George Burns his role of a lifetime in Oh, God, had the favor returned by Steven Soderbergh in Ocean’s Eleven when he was 79. Reiner played the hell out of the role of Saul Bloom in the trilogy.

A newspaper writer friend of mine told me about meeting Carl Reiner in the ‘70s at a big event at The Summit in Houston. My friend was in the restroom when Reiner walked in.

Multitalented creator Carl Reiner has died at the age of 98. The news was confirmed by Reiner’s assistant, who told Variety that the actor, comedian, and director died of natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills on Monday, June 29. Yes, Doris Day, who died on May 13 at age 97 after a bout with pneumonia, was the all-American girl next door — but she was so much more. The funny, sunny blonde with the perky disposition, a sprinkle of freckles and a dazzling smile started off as a big band singer whose first hit was 1945’s “Sentimental Journey” with Les Brown & his Band of Renown. She would record more than 650 songs from 1947 to 1967, making her one of the biggest-selling recording artists of the 20th century, and was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 20008.

The 25-year-old singer covers V Magazine's spring 2018 issue, in which he's interviewed by his friend, Sarah Jessica Parker. Parker gets personal with Smith, including his current feelings about his self-image after his noticeable weight loss.

"It’s completely different. I think that’s come with me losing weight," he says about how he feels about himself as opposed to two years ago. "When I was shooting my first music videos, I just wasn’t happy with the way I looked, so I was trying to control the way the camera moved. I got a bit obsessive. I was constantly looking in the mirror, pinching my waist, weighing myself every day."

These days, Smith says he has a much more positive outlook -- though admits it's easy to get caught up in comparing himself to unattainable body standards.
