On February 24, Special Agent Dale Cooper entered the town of Twin Peaks — like every town you’ve ever known, and no place you’ve ever seen.
Several online stores are celebrating Twin Peaks Day — the first without its visionary co-creator David Lynch, who passed away last month — with new merchandise dedicated to series.
Fright-Rags is carrying an officially licensed shirt featuring Kyle MacLachlan as Dale Cooper. Regularly $33, it’s on sale for $24 today only and will ship the week of March 21.
A pair of Fright-Rags’ previous Twin Peaks designs, “The Agent Cooper Files” by Yannick Bouchard and “Damn Fine Coffee” by Christopher Lovell, are available as print-on-demand tees for $36.
Dismay Design asks “Who Killed Laura Palmer?” with his new poster. 18×24 matte prints, signed and numbered by the artist, are available for $29.
Cody Schibi illustrated two portraits of Lynch plus Log Lady, The Man from Another Place, and Bob on coffee-stained paper.

To mark the digital release of the acclaimed period horror film Fright on Prime, writer and director Warren Dudley reflects on the challenges/joys of indie filmmaking, his passion for football and what frightens him.
Your latest film, Fright, recently enjoyed a successful World premiere at FrightFest 2024, where it was compared to The Haunting and The Innocents. Describe what the occasion was like.
The entire Frightfest experience was the usual festival mix of nervous excitement and terror! It was the first time the cast and crew were seeing the film too so I was really hoping they would love how it turned out – and I think they did. The paying audience added even more pressure, being made up of seasoned horror fans who, by that point, had already watched around 25 films over the weekend so that was quite stressful.
However, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive from the audience and the Frightfest critics.

Stars: Gwyneth Evans, Jill Priest, Daniel Tuite, Jamie Martin | Written and Directed by Warren Dudley
It’s a rare feat for a film to convincingly transport its audience back in time and believably sustain the world it builds, but that is exactly what Warren Dudley’s Fright achieves.
A love letter to 1950s cinema, Fright is a gothic horror film that follows Emily (Gwyneth Evans), who is on the cusp of adulthood. Yet, her liberation and personal freedoms are constrained by her agoraphobia as well as her domineering mother (Jill Priest), who is intent on keeping Emily confined to the house. At the brink of mental collapse, Emily is haunted by a malevolent force – a gnarled black hand that represents Emily’s trauma and will stop at nothing to use it against her.
Stories about a protagonist haunted by a ghostly apparition are not unique. Still, Dudley offers a fresh...

1937. Emily (Gwyneth Evans) is close to becoming an adult but her forthcoming eighteenth birthday won’t be much of a cause for celebration as, due to chronic agoraphobia. she has never left the rambling, crumbling gothic pile which is her home. Haunted by visions of a gnarled, black hand, Emily longs for the day her long absent father will return home and save her, but her strict, overbearing mother (Jill Priest) insists that he is gone forever and that Emily needs to be more concerned with the terrors lurking outside…

This year’s Frightfest offers something a little different from what we’ve seen in recent years, with a heavy emphasis on style not just for decoration but as a means of telling powerful stories. There are a lot of interesting films to choose from, from Warren Dudley’s expertly crafted Forties style Gothic thriller, Fright, to Joy Wilkinson’s clever fairytale reworked as urban thriller, 7 Keys, but we’ve settled on five that we think showcase the best of this new approach whilst delivering the wit and wickedness that fans of the festival have come to love. Dig in!

I always enjoy seeing the horror and Western genres get mixed together, so as soon as I saw that the upcoming film Place of Bones is being described as “action-packed horror Western,” I was sold on checking it out. I didn’t even have to watch a trailer to know I want to see how the movie has turned out – but distributor The Avenue has unveiled a trailer for Place of Bones, and you can check it out in the embed above. The film is set to receive a theatrical and digital release on August 23rd.

From its modest beginnings as a railroad link to Los Angeles, CA and Salt Lake City, Ut in 1905 to its mob-led urbanization in the 1930s as a gambling mecca (and later a family-friendly mega resort with the arrival of Howard Hughes in the 1960s), Las Vegas, Nevada has long served as a draw to those with an entrepreneurial spirit and a keen sense of showmanship. Fright Crewe isn't the first all-ages horror story that Eli Roth has ever played with. While 2018’s The House with a Clock in Its Walls felt like Roth's take on a children's fable, Fright Crewe (which he created and executive produced with I Am Number Four author James Frey) takes more cues from the teenage supernatural genre -- at times operating like a fusion of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Power Rangers. Executive produced by Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco, the series may not be breaking new ground, but Fright Crewe's colorful and creepy take on the premise delivers a fun show for older kids.
Fright Crewe focuses on five teenagers in New Orleans: outcast Soleil (voiced by Sydney Mikayala), her former best friend turned popular girl Missy (Grace Lu), Missy's dim-witted boyfriend Stanley (Chester Rushing), Vodou-obsessed Pat (Terrence Little Gardenhigh) and the quiet Maybe (Tim Johnson Jr.). Classic Hollywood stars, known for their work in other genres, also took on roles in horror movies, delivering iconic performances. Famous actresses like Barbara Stanwyck and Joan Crawford showcased their talent in psychological horror films, proving their versatility. Notable actors such as Charlton Heston and Gregory Peck dipped their toes into the horror genre, adding depth to their filmography.
Many actors choose to stay away from horror movies for different reasons, so it might come as a surprise that some classic Hollywood actors, known for their works in other genres, appeared in at least one horror movie. The horror genre has seen a variety of actors, many of them known for their performances in other genres, while others dedicate most of their careers to appearing in scary movies. However, what might seem surprising to many, is to know that some classic Hollywood stars also gave the horror genre a chance at some point.

There’s a pervasive sense of optimism in the air in Hollywood that has nothing to do with the onset of fall weather. The Writers Guild of America is no longer striking, and today the heads of major studios like Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery are sitting down with the Screen Actors Guild to see if the new contract with the WGA can’t provide a blueprint toward a deal with it as well.
By this time next week, a deal could well be in place that allows SAG and its affiliated members to get back to work. Until then, however, users can enjoy a fantastic new selection of shows and movies that are coming to streaming this week!

Warning! Contains Spoilers For Batman #137!Batman is by far the most popular, most successful DC superheroes, despite his lack of superpowers. Batman has managed to fight actual gods and demons, utiliing nothing more than his ability to plan ahead and be well-trained – but DC has recently revealed that due to one dark twist, Batman has gained actual superpowers.
A preview for Batman #137 – by Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jimenez, Tomeu Morey, and Clayton Cowles – reveals the Caped Crusader's new power, as part of the burgeoning "Gotham War" between Batman and Catwoman.
When Batman is taking down one of Catwoman's associates, a woman named Fright, Fright tries to spray Batman with Fear Toxin, which, alarmingly, Batman completely and utterly ignores. Batman isn't typically shown as having powers, but this new development could be for a very dark reason.

Hey all! John Fallon here aka The Arrow. Our docu-series, Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian: 80’s Horror Memories (binge it here), which thoroughly explores the decade in horror, is now 15 episodes in. We just wrapped 1980, 1981 and 1982 and we are about to go in balls deep into 1983 this coming Monday, August 28 on our JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel.
A series of this ilk doesn’t happen by itself, it takes an army of producers, writers, editors and our sole narrator to make the magic happens. So we thought it would be dandy to get our core staff to share with you their 10 favorite (not best) horror movies from the 80’s. Yes, it was tough on all of us to pick just 10 – but we knocked a few back and did what we could. Scroll down and peep our choices!

As a storytelling device, vampires can stand in for all sorts of real-world phenomena. These classic creatures of the night are usually played for pure horror or unexpected romance, but are most effective when used to explore the issues faced by teenagers. Growing up and going through all sorts of physical and emotional changes is perfect fodder for modern vampiric fables, so it's not surprising that it's been the basis of some great films.
One of the lightest approaches to the concept is 1987's My Best Friend Is a Vampire, a silly and surprisingly sweet movie that subverts many of the classic tropes of the genre. Although it still features a teenager being turned into a vampire, it's much less a monstrous tale of morality and more a goofy coming-of-age story that highlights the importance of overcoming prejudice. The cult classic -- now available through a Blu-Ray re-release -- highlights...

Stephen King endorses the Idris Elba series Hijack. The series, which premiered on Apple TV+ in June, follows a business negotiator navigating a hijacking situation during a flight. King's endorsement is significant due to his appreciation for Elba's previous work on HBO's The Wire.

It stars Elba as Sam Nelson, a business negotiator who must apply his skills to a much higher-stakes situation when his flight from Dubai to London is hijacked. The cast of the series also includes Neil Maskell, Eve Myles, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Archie Panjabi, Ben Miles, and Kate Phillips.

Carrie (1976)
The first Stephen King adaptation also ranks highly as one of the best. Director Brian De Palma and screenwriter Lawrence D. Cohen brought King’s story to the screen with a great script and great style, with Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie turning in Oscar-nominated performances as telekinetic teen Carrie and her horrendous mother. Carrie is bullied at school and has an awful home life. We care about her, we want to see things get better for her. But good things are not to be.

Jerry prefers his drinks warm, red, and straight from the jugular! It’s Fright Night, a horrific howl starring Chris Sarandon as the seductive vampire and William Ragsdale as the frantic teenager struggling to keep Jerry’s deadly fangs out of his neck. Only 17-year-old Charley Brewster (Ragsdale) knows Jerry’s bloodcurdling secret. When Charley can’t get anybody to believe him, he turns to TV horror host Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall), who used to be the “Great Vampire Killer” of the movies. Apex Legends players might be in unanimous agreement that Season 3: Meltdown has been the best update yet for the battle royale, but there’s another, less welcome addition that’s prompted criticism from a large number of fans. Alongside the addition of a new hero and map in the form of Crypto and World’s Edge respectively, Respawn delivered a new weapon into the hands of those exploring the extreme elements of Kings Canyon’s replacement, the Charge Rifle.
Like the majority of Apex‘s existing firearms, Season 3’s armory addition is a carryover from Respawn’s Titanfall games, where it was originally used to topple the series’ titular robots. That being the case, it hardly takes a wild imagination to picture the effects its firepower would have on a lowly human. Disintegrating opponents in an instant from miles away might sound like a hoot at first, but the Charge Rifle’s ease-of-use,...

The next limited-time event for Apex Legends is due to kick off later today and Respawn has dropped a new trailer to celebrate.
Similar to the somewhat controversial Iron Crown campaign held earlier this year, Fight or Fright is what the developer is dubbing a ‘Collection’ event. The archetype is one of three different formats that Apex players have been regularly receiving over the last several months and boasts a wealth of new cosmetics; some earned, others purchased. Furthermore, obtaining every new suitably-themed Halloween costume for each hero is a prerequisite to unlocking a brand new Heirloom item for Lifeline.
Speaking of all things spooky, however, you can check out the all-new trick or treat outfits headed your way in just a few hours via the aforementioned trailer below:
