Funny ¨Landa¨ comedy that pays tribute to Spaghetti and Paella western shot in Almeria

Benito , Alfredo Landa , is a train worker who unfortunately stops a Western shooting in Almería . That is why Benito enters in contact to the western cinema industry , causing wreak havoc . As Benito leaves his job and his girlfriend and goes to Almería to work as an actor. But there he finds a lot of unfortunates and distresses .

Amusing film that results to be a typical comedy of the 70s with the great Alfredo Landa . The film starts very well when the railway switchman Landa hears trumpet calls and he watches some American chivalry riders , fearing an USA invasion he goes into a Western filming . There is a feeling homage to stunts and cinema extras , giving an attractive as well as touching tribute to these roles . The diverting as well as nutty characters are quite a few grotesque and odds and the picture races on an acceptable speed . Here stands out Alfredo Landa who gives a sympathetic acting , as usual . He was one of the most prolific Spanish actors , with more than 100 films , of which the great majority are erotic comedies featuring lots of nude girls . Most of these films were made in the 70s and directed by Mariano Ozores , Ramón Fernández , Vicente Escrivá , Luis Maria Delgado , and Pedro Lazaga , and they are the consequence of the relaxation of sexual censorship after Franco's death , creating a new sub-genre , nicknamed ¨Landismo¨ . In the 80s he began to be given dramatic characters with which he managed to abandon the typecast status of low-quality comedy actor he had so far . As he started working for prestigious filmmakers as José Luis Garci , Mario Camús , José Luis Cuerda , among others . He won the Best Actor Award together with Francisco Rabal in the Cannes Festival with Los Santos Inocentes (1984), and also won two Goya Awards with the films El Bosque Animado (1987) and La Marrana (1992) . Support cast is frankly good with the ordinary actors of the 70s and 80s , such as : Tina Sainz , Mirta Miller, Joséle Roman , the incombustible José Sacristan and special mention for Antonio Ferrandis as a drunken old actor who falls in distress . Furthermore , some actors from Spaghetti or Chorizo Western as Tito García and Saturno Cerra.

Entertaining and fun script by Vicente Coello and Vicente Escrivá also producer . This Spanish comedy plenty of laughs , amusing incidents and funny things was professionally directed by Pedro Lazaga . Pedro was a craftsman who directed a lot of comedies . Pedro was a prolific director and writer, known for Los Chicos Del Preu (1967), Cuerda De Presos (1956) and María Morena (1951). He directed all kind of genres such as Peplum : Siete Espartanos , Wartime : Cuerda De Presos , Posicion Avanzada , Torrepartida , La Patrulla ; Drama : Rostro De Asesino , Otro Arbol De Guernica , but especially known for comedies in low budget . Director Pedro Lazaga made , during the fifties and early sixties , eight films , mostly comedies : ¨Muchachas De Azul¨, Ana Dice Si¨. ¨Luna De Verano¨, ¨Económicamente Debiles¨ , ¨Trio Damas¨ for screenwriter and producer Jose Luis Dibildos and his ¨Agata Films Productions¨. The best of all them results to be ¨Los Tramposos¨. He continued making comedies such as Patrulla De Los Once , Los Tramposos , Sabian Demasiado , El Vikingo , ¡No Firmes Más Letras, Cielo! , Vente a Ligar Al Oeste , Hasta El Matrimonio Nos Separe , La Amante Perfecta , Fulanita y Sus Menganos , among others . His most known films were with the popular comic player Paco Martinez Soria such as : Abuelo Made in Spain , Padre De La Criatura , Alegre Divorciado , Estoy Hecho Un Chaval , Vaya Par Gemelos , among others . As well as others produced by Vicente Escriba and starred by Alfredo Landa, such as : Vente a Alemania Pepe , No Firmes Mas Letras Cielo and Vente a Ligar a Oeste .
