Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has opened up about the impending conclusion of the hit Netflix show, after over a month since wrapping up the fifth and final season. Since the second installment, Sink has been portraying the fan-favorite role of Max Mayfield.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sink discussed what it was like to bid Stranger Things farewell, especially when she grew up alongside her character.
“It was really hard, really difficult to say goodbye,” she said. “I think 10 years for the whole show. But I don't know, we grew up on it, grew up with each other, like our audience grew up watching us and I don't know.” Sink’s Max was last during the shocking Season 4 finale, where she almost died because of Vecna’s curse. However, even though Elle and the others were able to interfere with Vecna’s plans,...

While many view the Joker as pure evil, a closer look reveals he might not be so one-dimensional. Beneath his chaotic facade, he’s a complex character who deeply craves heroism. Most comic villains have clear motivations, but what if the Joker’s twisted psyche hides a hero waiting to emerge?
Sure, he wreaked havoc in the DC Universe, causing immense suffering and claiming countless lives. It’s easy to dismiss him as unspeakably evil, and who can blame readers for that? But after diving into the depths of his character—like in Jason Aaron and John Timms’ I, Bizarro—I discovered intriguing hints that suggest there’s more than just madness at play.
The Joker’s Regret
One compelling moment occurs in Jla #15. In this story, Martian Manhunter temporarily reorganizes the Joker’s mind, granting him brief lucidity.

Brimming with the kinetic energy of an approaching storm, Anthony Ramos must be over the moon with the torrent of enthusiasm surrounding the much-anticipated Twister sequel. No, we haven’t predicted that, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Ramos would make such a jubilant return to the big screen.
Towering a staggering 28 years over its predecessor, this cinematic cyclone—helmed by Lee Isaac Chung— has created a completely novel path, virtually untethered from the original Twister’s narrative anchorage.

The intriguing storyline, striking animation, and thrilling action sequences of the Solo Leveling anime have made it the most appreciated anime of 2024. With just 7 episodes in, the series has made huge waves in the anime industry, and fans eagerly await the next episode of one of the best anime series on screen currently.
Solo Leveling
While nearly every manhwa and anime enthusiast has praised it, others have also attacked the anime, claiming that its strength lies solely in its animation and criticized it for lacking a compelling plot. According to some people, the series is being carried by its brilliant animation because of which the focus of the story is being diverted.
Because of these allegations, fans have started comparing Solo Leveling with another anime, which, according to fans, also became famous only because of its animation. The anime in discussion is Demon Slayer or Kimetsu No Yaiba, which also...

When Rishi Kapoor Exposed The Dark Side Of Bollywood Awards, Slamming Them For Awarding Parineeti Chopra After Losing Weight & Asked: “Will They Give Me One For Gaining…” (Photo Credit – Instagram)
This roller-coaster journey of Rishi Kapoor and his bold and blunt attitude towards life has always attracted polarising reactions from around the crowd. Some liked him being the man he always was; some didn’t agree with the things he used to say. He once slammed award shows for ‘distributing’ the trophies without substance & merit.
Parineeti Chopra‘s transformation led her to win the Style Icon Of The Year award, and that didn’t really go down well with Rishi. On a broader level, he was ridiculing the nature of many award shows left. But, as with every other Rk news, it grabbed many eyeballs.
While conversing with DNA, Rishi Kapoor said, “I use trophies as doorstops in my home.

Stars: Richie Jackson, Jacques Grimbeek | Written and Directed by Eileen Yaghoobian
In a post-apocalyptic world only populated by skateboarders, a quietly spreading synthetic drug is transforming female users into skater zombies. Following on from the 2022 short Skater Zombies that offered a taster of this world, Skater Zombies: The Villain changes gears to shine a light on a character that identifies himself as The Villain – as played by celebrity skateboarder Richie Jackson.
Within a junkyard, the eccentrically dressed villain chases after a skater named Kris (Jacques Grimbeek). The swooping shots dynamically convey a sense of scale to this location, as the vehicular graveyard marks the death of the commonplace transportation within this world where the skateboard reigns supreme.
While Jackson’s role could have merely been a case of stunt casting in lesser hands, this short sees him provide an effective portrayal as the titular antagonist who fully believes in his anarchic actions.

Marvel villains often have intense last words, either expressing disbelief in their defeat or pleading for understanding. Some villains, like Doc Ock and Killmonger, experience redemption or sympathy in their final moments. Others, such as Thanos and Mysterio, display arrogance or leave lasting consequences even after their defeat.
Across the many movies taking place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many of the most memorable lines have come from the franchise's many villains. Beyond the MCU, other Marvel-branded movies from earlier years have also carried this distinction, with unforgettable villains who leave a chilling final impact with their last words. From sympathetic souls driven forced into villainy like Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius to the unrelenting evil of cosmic villains like Ego and Thanos, Marvel's most powerful villains make some intense last impressions.

Pedro Jimeno from The Family Chantel mocks entitled women, referring to them as "Karens," in a recent unnecessary social media post. His post may be a sly dig at his former mother-in-law, Karen, and other members of Chantel's family, whom he has had a hostile relationship with. Pedro is now reveling in his villain status, confidently embracing his edgier personality since Chantel is out of his life.
Pedro Jimeno from The Family Chantel indirectly mocked Karen Everett with an unwarranted social media post. Unfortunately, Pedro didn’t turn out to be as good as many viewers expected. He became a wild, dramatic man who argued and fought with Chantel’s family. There was a time — way before the reality-tv chaos of “Top Chef,” “Hell’s Kitchen” and their ilk, and the ubiquitous trend for open restaurant kitchens — when most of us didn’t think all that much about the labor and drama behind the scenes of eating out. Now, we probably overcook the theater of fine dining in our imaginations: Not every perfectly done steak has been screamed over as part of the seasoning.
After a year when many of us have missed out on the restaurant experience, along comes “Boiling Point” to re-whet our appetite for its flash and sizzle. Presented as one continuous 90-minute take, Philip Barantini’s thoroughly absorbing film plunges the audience into one hectic Christmastime service at a high-end restaurant in East London, juggling a dizzy array of courses, characters and subplots that range from plausibly high-stakes to wildly contrived.

"Who do you think you are, some kind of animal?" Saban Films has debuted the official Us trailer for an indie crime drama titled Villain, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Philip Barantini. The story follows a former criminal just released from prison and his attempts to help his family by reconnecting with his daughter and clearing his brother's debt. Despite his efforts, he is drawn back into a criminal way of life, with devastating consequences. As as always when criminals get out, try to stay away from crime, then get sucked back in for "one more job" to settle the score that still ruins everything. Controversy The Nivin Pauly film opened to mixed reviews on Friday and the film's PR team appears to be on damage control mode, say social media users.Tnm StaffNivin Pauly's Mikhael, directed by Haneef Adeni and produced by Anto Joseph, opened on Friday to mixed reviews. However, the makers of the film have allegedly been trying to control negative reviews on social media by misusing the Facebook copyright policies. Two Facebook groups which discuss films - Movie Tracker and Movie Munshi - have allegedly been blocked due to the efforts of the Mikhael promotions team in a attempt to save the film from getting negative word of mouth. This is the latest instance of the Malayalam film industry trying to silence social media groups that come out with honest reviews. KollywoodFor Deepavali 2001, there was a Vikram, Suriya, Vijay and Kamal Haasan clash at the box-office - can you imagine that happening now?Tnm StaffPetta and Viswasam, with Rajini and Ajith in the lead respectively, will be clashing at the box-office this Pongal. Both films will take on a massive opening in Tamil Nadu, although the number of screens will get divided between the two. As trade pundits have predicted, this may affect the box-office collections and end up hurting the makers. The Tamil film industry, in recent times, has been keen to avoid box-office clashes when it comes to big budget films. Some have grumbled about the favourable treatment meted out to certain stars and production houses, with their films being allowed a one week or even two week free run in theatres. This, they say, is unfair, when smaller films get crowded dates at the box-office and are unable to sustain.

Idris Elba has — possibly? — given his two cents on the rumors that he’s been floated as a new James Bond.
On Sunday, Elba posted a series of cryptic tweets, beginning with a heavily filtered selfie accompanied by the caption “my name’s Elba, Idris Elba,” a clear reference to the famous line spoken by Bond.
A few hours later, however, he posted an image of the rap group Public Enemy and followed it up with the titular lyric from one of their most famous songs, “Don’t Believe The Hype.” Whether or not that puts to bed the rumors circulating that Elba is being eyed as the next Bond remains to be seen.
Though Elba’s name has been put forth for years by fans as a possible option for the first non-white Bond, the rumor mill was set off again after the Daily Star published a story last...

Film CommentaryFrom going after the loosu ponnu to taking on Gautham Menon's obsession with killing women, 'Tamizh Padam 2' exposes the misogyny in Tamil films. Spoilers ahead.Sowmya Rajendran*Spoilers ahead Cs Amudhan's Tamizh Padam 2, much like the first film, takes a dig at Kollywood trends and spares no mainstream film. This time around though, the director has also addressed how female characters are represented in Tamil cinema, especially the heroine, who has been reduced to a "loosu ponnu." Agila Ulaga Superstar Shiva's first wife, Priya (Disha Pandey), is killed off unceremoniously because this is a sequel and obviously, a sequel can never have the same heroine. Besides, Tamizh Padam 2 is a cop film and as guruji Gautham Menon has taught us over and over again, a police officer's sincerity to the job is inversely proportional to his wife's longevity. So, Priya dies and is replaced by Ramya (Iswarya Menon). How? Shiva's friend advises him to simply close his eyes and fall in love with the first woman he sees. Shiva has only two conditions – a. The girl must be the colour of maida b. She must be a 'loosu ponnu'. This may seem satirical to people who are not familiar with mainstream Tamil films, but it's actually an accurate description of the heroine in most of them. Amudhan goes one step ahead and breaks down the conditions that establish a "loosu ponnu" – she must chase a puppy, she must help blind people cross the road, and she must eat ice-cream in the rain. While film critics have been lamenting this annoying trope for eons now, it's refreshing to see someone from the industry spelling it out in neon. Ramya also wears a T-shirt that says "Mental manadhil" and gets into a bus for patients with mental health issues (one supposes that mental healthcare professionals won't be delighted by this) to seal the deal for Shiva. He's in love! Among the films that Amudhan takes a dig at is the horrendous Remo which romanticised stalking on a whole other level. When his friends advise him to torture the heroine into falling in love with him, Shiva asks if that would not be wrong. They, however, tell him that he's the hero and that he can go to any extent to make the woman fall for him. Santhana Bharathi, who appears as one of Shiva's friends, also dresses up as a female nurse – to make sure we don't miss the reference. Ramya is hilariously oblivious to the fact that the heavily bearded person in the nurse uniform is not a woman – well, she's a loosu ponnu after all. 'Adida avala' from Mayakkam Enna and 'Evandi unna petha' from Vaanam (by Dhanush and Simbu respectively, the kings of the soup song genre) get a rehaul with Ramya singing the woman's version of it when she's dumped by Shiva for a stupid reason. Although the song is meant to be funny, it has some poignant lines that hit home, especially given the spate of stalker related murders in Tamil Nadu. "Love failurenu solli acid adikkara neenga/ engakita enda kolaveri pathi maanamkettu pesureenga" (Those of you who say love failure and throw acid, why do you speak to us about murderous rage without any shame?) are lyrics that Kollywood will do well to remember next time directors are tempted to make the same-old "suffering" hero nonsense. There's plenty of good-natured humour about a plethora of films – Vivegam, Vikram-Vedha, Thupparivalan, Thuppaki, Pisasu, Kaththi, VIP, 24, 7aam Arrivu, Thevar Magan, 2.0, Kabali, Ms Dhoni, Baahubali, Irudhi Suttru, Villain, Veeram, Saamy – the list is super long. However, what's appreciable is how Amudhan has also gone after the misogyny present in the films of directors who are considered to be "classy", particularly Gautham Menon. Although Gautham Menon is usually credited with giving "sensible" women characters who are not the "loosu ponnu", they tend to die brutal deaths, especially in his cop films. The misogyny is not as glaring as it is in the average mainstream film, but it's all the more disturbing. In Tamizh Padam 2, Shiva stalks Ramya (his tenant - Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya) to the Us (Vaaranam Aayiram) and the heroine eventually dies. But then, she hilariously comes back as Gayathri (the proposal scene is straight out of Vettaiyadu Vilaiyaadu). The self-obsessed hero voice-overs that are present in every Gautham Menon cop film – Khaaka Khaaka, Yennai Arindhal, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamayada – are also unmistakable. By the end of the movie, Shiva, the sincere cop, has a wall full of pictures of dead wives – so much so that his long-suffering paati decides to kill him and put an end to it. And oh, Kasthuri does an "item" number in the middle of an investigation because that's how the "classy" directors show off their "massy" side to the audience. Tamizh Padam 2 is not without its issues. It is essentially a string of scenes from popular films and if you don't get the references, chances are that it will not make any sense to you. But Amudhan has dared to show Kollywood an aspect that is seldom discussed by people from within the industry seriously – why can't we have better female characters? Why can't our love stories treat women with more respect? And when will our heroines grow up and behave like adults?...

Most box office analysts were predicting that the highly-anticipated Despicable Me sequel, Despicable Me 3, would have no trouble running away with the box office this weekend. While that prediction ultimately came true, the sequel came in less than expected, opening with $75.4 million, easily beating fellow newcomers Baby Driver, which opened on Wednesday, June 28, and the original comedy The House starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler. While Despicable Me 3 didn't open with a franchise low, it did mark a significant drop from the last few entries in the franchise.
Box Office Mojo reports that, while Despicable Me 3 may have opened less than expected, it did break a box office record that has stood for the past seven years. Despicable Me 3 opened in a record-breaking 4,529 theaters, breaking the record previously set by 2010's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which opened in 4,468 theaters on the exact same date as Despicable Me 3 seven years ago,...

Since it had no direct competition in wide release last weekend, it was no surprise that Transformers: The Last Knight came away with a box office win, although it was much less than expected. The action-packed sequel opened with $44.6 million, even down slightly from the $45.3 million estimate, which was still the worst opening in franchise history, far below the $70.5 million the franchise kicked off with in the 2007 movie Transformers, although the movie is still performing strong overseas. This weekend, it will face three newcomers, Universal's animated sequel Despicable Me 3, New Line Cinema's comedy The House and Sony's Baby Driver, which opens in theaters tomorrow, June 28. Despicable Me 3 should have no trouble taking the top spot with a projected $90.2 million.

From Lovejoy to Deadwood, Ian McShane has made a career out of playing rogues. He tells us about his drink- and drug-fuelled past, and how he's given it all up to make blockbusters for his grandchildren
On a breezy spring afternoon in Santa Monica, Ian McShane and I are hauling furniture around a hotel room. The suite has been used recently for a photo shoot, and McShane has decided he wants everything back the way it was. I pull one of the sofas towards the fireplace, dragging the rug with it. He manoeuvres the other with surprising ease: he's a small but compact man, around 5ft 7in, sinewy, with a light mahogany tan; and although there is some grey amid the glossy black curls, it's very easy to forget that he is 70. "Seventy years old!" he rages in his distinctive Lancastrian burr, like syrup on sandpaper. "How did that happen?...

In a previous article, I wrote about who I expected to become huge (in terms of exposure, not eating disorders) in this new year of ours. Now I turn my attention to what I want to see, but is unlikely to happen, in the wonderful world of film.
Note that these wishes are not based on actual announced projects or rumor mill frivolity, they’re just stuff I’d love to see.
Starting with…
Leonardo DiCaprio to Play a Villain
One of the most wonderful things to watch over the previous decade (whatever the hell you want to call it; the noughties…whatever) was the regeneration of Leo DiCaprio from teenage heartthrob and unlikely homeless man into a respected, doubtlessly talented lead, part action man, part thinking man’s action man tortured protagonist.
One part he is yet to play though is the bad guy, like many similar Hollywood stars.

Over the phone from London, British actor Ian McShane is talking about his homeland’s perennial obsession: the weather. More specifically, he is explaining how he fell ill when the U.K.’s recent Indian summer was replaced by conditions of a more briskly autumnal nature. “I’ve been sick,” he says. “I’ve a chest infection, where you just want to go around coughing. Anyway, luckily, I have the week off.”
Rare is the actor — even the plague-ridden one — who regards having a week off as “lucky.” But then McShane has been enjoying his own professional Indian summer over...

Ok, so we should probably remind ourselves that we have entered silly season with potential, proposed and fake titles regarding the 23rd James Bond movie and it’ll be like this until Daniel Craig or Eon Productions, MGM or Sony Pictures announce with a press release just what the hell the film will actually be called.
So with that in mind and taking this with as big a grain of salt as you can grab, I got an email less than 30 minutes ago that makes a good argument for the 23rd James Bond movie, which begins filming soon for a release in just over 12 months time, to be officially titled…. Skyfall.
It appears that a brand protection company working for Sony Pictures registered a dozen Urls two days ago (on October 3rd) which suggest they are planning something around the term “Skyfall” and James Bond;

Before we get down to the business of mocking teenagers for their teenager ways, I thought I'd first try and offer some perspective. First: Some of the winners in this year's Teen Choice Awards aren't bad. Where Harry Potter is concerned, I'd expect most teenagers today choose it as the best movie. At that age, I probably would have, as well. Also, Easy A wins a few categories here (as does Emma Stone) and, at 17, that movie would've been rocked my Jordan Knight pompadour, too. They also choose Black Swan and Natalie Portman in a couple of categories, which are fine choices. More inexplicable are the wins for the likes of Just Go With It, Brooklyn Decker, and Bad Teacher (as well as Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake). Not only is Bad Teacher a terrible movie, but the target audience aren't even teenagers (it was R-rated, as was Black Swan,...
