Valerie Leon was dubbed throughout the entire film by *June Whitfield. Although the lip-syncing/ADR, and vocal styling choice of the two character voices June Whitfield uses, along with the sound recording acoustics, makes it hard to tell she's doing two voices, even in the same shot. *However, many years later, "Carry On" historian, Robert Ross stated that when asked about it, Whitfield said she had no recollection of dubbing Leon's voice in this picture.

Goofs
When the girls are fighting in the Hotel Lobby they jump onto a sofa and it falls backwards. The lady seated on the sofa can be seen helping it fall backwards with her foot.

Alternate versions
As with many of the Carry On films the cinema version was cut by the BBFC to receive an 'A' (PG) certificate. Some dialogue was replaced, including 'knee trembler' (which was changed to 'snogging') and the fight between Hope and Dawn was reduced to remove shots of Hope attempting to pull Dawn's underwear off. The latter scene was fully restored in later video/DVD releases.

Typical Fun

Except for the absence of Kenneth Williams, I would recommend this film to new fans of the Carry On series, as it is typical of the brand of humor that is a thread of all their films. The seaside resort town of Fircombe needs a boost so Sidney Fiddler (the always good Sid James) comes up with the idea of a beauty contest. This does not sit well with some of the ladies of the town, especially June Whitfield's character Miss Prodworthy (the names are, of course, all intentional). The film basically goes into the contest, with silliness, comic misadventures and double entendres. Not perfect, and not their best, its fun to watch. Except for the aforementioned Mr. Williams and Hattie Jacques, the gang is all here. Enjoy!
