Trivia

Return of the Seven

Edit
Yul Brynner insisted he would only make this film if Steve McQueen was not involved because he felt that McQueen was too much of a scene-stealer. McQueen initially expressed interest in doing the film, but then decided the plot was too absurd and turned it down.
Although this film revisits the village from the first movie, it was shot in Spain instead of Mexico. Among the many reasons were the difficulties that occurred between the American filmmakers and the Mexican crew and government censors during the shooting of the first film. This includes the fact that the Mexican villagers in the first movie all wore pristine white outfits, per the Mexican government's insistence, while in this movie their clothes were dirty and soiled.
Yul Brynner was the only actor to reprise his role from The Magnificent Seven (1960).
Warren Oates contracted hepatitis B and dysentery while making this film.
In Rio Bravo (1959) Dude asks Chance about Colorado "Is he as fast as I was?" Chance answers "I'd hate to live on the difference." This is the same line Chris tells Frank about Colbee when Frank asks "Is he as fast as you?"
