It cannot be understated how huge "Baywatch" was. It was a goofy show with lightweight drama, resting somewhere on a matrix that incorporated soap operas, "Gilligan's Island"-like sitcoms, and 1970s "jiggle" shows like "Charlie's Angels." The central appeal of "Baywatch" was, of course, witnessing attractive people in swimsuits running dramatically down the beaches of Los Angeles. David Hasselhoff's star stayed high in the sky thanks to "Baywatch," and many of his co-stars -- notably Pamela Anderson -- became world-famous. 

"Baywatch" debuted in 1989 and ran a powerful 241 episodes over 11 seasons, finally drawing to a close in 2001. The final two seasons were relocated to Hawai'i, and the title of the show was changed to "Baywatch: Hawaii," even though it retained the same cast and premise.

Netflix is trying to help solve that problem, following the lead of Disney+ by revealing that it will make new playlists of popular kids shows that automatically play a new episode available to customers in the next week or so.

Adams' soap opera roles included Paula Denning on Capitol (1982-1987), Arlene Beevis in Beverly Hills, 90210 (1993) and Mrs. Damarrs on Melrose Place (1999).

While she is arguably best-known for the horror classic Creature From the Black Lagoon, she had a number of notable roles.

Julie Adams was born as Betty May Adams on October 17th, 1926 in Waterloo, Iowa. Her family moved around a lot when she was a child, but she spent 8 years in Arkansas, which is the longest that her family ever stayed in one place. In 1946, at the age of 19, Adams was crowned Little Miss Arkansas and later moved out to Hollywood to start an acting career.

Creature From the Black Lagoon star Julie Adams, an actress who, like Fay Wray and Evelyn Ankers before her won the hearts of classic Hollywood monsters and then generations of devoted fans, died Sunday in Los Angeles. She was 92.

Penny Dreadful may have been a beloved, star-studded peak television offering that closed up shop after just three seasons, but the classic-literature-crossover Showtime supernatural series will continue its legacy with a sequel series. The premium cable channel dropped major details back in November about a follow-up series, titled Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

While the sequel series makes a dramatic shift away from the settings and characters of 2014-2016’s Penny Dreadful, it will have the support of its key personnel, namely creator John Logan, who returns to serve as writer and executive producer, joined in the latter capacity by Michael Aguilar, who's worked on recent Showtime offerings Kidding and I’m Dying Up Here.
