Tara TV is repeating this show at the moment, and I really don't know what to make of it. On the one hand, it has Gabriel Byrne in it. He's a fine actor, and it's nice to see him before he went Hollywood in both person and accent. On the other hand, if I didn't know it was made by Irish people, I would have thought it was taking the mickey something chronic. Every stereotype you can imagine is there, "Irish love drink" "Irish live in hovels" "Irish are thick" you name it, it's there. So, you see, I'm not quite sure what to think.
