Sylvester Stallone has starred in some great movies, but like any Hollywood mainstay, he's also been in a few stinkers. One time, Arnold Schwarzenegger actually trolled Stallone into starring in a major flop, so it's fair to say that the "Rocky" star has made some questionable career choices. With that in mind, one would think that he'd jump at the chance to work with an acclaimed director like Quentin Tarantino, whose movies often result in their stars winning awards. However, the "Rambo" veteran hasn't been interested in teaming up with the filmmaker when roles have been offered to him in the past.
While speaking to McClean's in 2012, Stallone revealed that he turned down the roles of Louis Gara and "Stuntman" Mike McKay in "Jackie Brown" and "Death Proof," respectively. He also noted that the latter project didn't sit right with him at the time, seeing as he didn't want...

The actors have weighed in on the 2025 Oscar race — and it's potentially game-changing.
Sunday’s 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards saw several of this year’s key competitors face off one last time before the Academy Awards on March 2 and the ceremony delivered more than a few surprises. Perhaps none was more significant than Timothée Chalamet winning Best Actor for his turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown in an upset over the awards-season favorite, The Brutalist star Adrien Brody. Or maybe it was Conclave thwarting high-powered rivals Anora and Wicked to land the night's biggest prize of best film ensemble.
Wicked came into the evening with a record-tying five nominations for film categories but failed to win anything. Anora, after a dominating run in precursor awards in recent weeks, finished 0-for-3.

It's probably no accident that the Screen Actors Guild chose a feminist heroine like Jane Fonda as the 60th recipient of its Life Achievement Award. Who better than an outspoken 87-year-old activist and cultural icon to meet the divisive moment with a rousing SAG Awards speech? As SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher said in announcing the honor, "Jane Fonda is a trailblazer and an extraordinary talent — a dynamic force who has shaped the landscape of entertainment, advocacy, and culture with unwavering passion. We honor Jane not only for her artistic brilliance but for the profound legacy of activism and empowerment she has created."
Fonda didn't disappoint on Sunday. Following a spirited introduction by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Fonda used her platform as a defiant, emotional call to arms and an opportunity to remind her audience of fellow actors that it's time to stand up amid a fraught political climate.

Jane Fonda may be 87, but she’s not about to slow down any time soon.
The two-time Oscar winner, who received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award at the 2025 SAG Awards, said she saw the honor and the enthusiastic reception she received from the Hollywood stars in the audience, who gave her a standing ovation, as more of a “go-girl kick-ass” form of encouragement instead of something being given to someone toward the end of their life.
“Which is good because I’m not done,” Fonda said.
During her speech, Fonda looked back on her “really weird” acting career — including roles in Klute, Coming Home, Barbarella, 9 to 5, Grace and Frankie, Monster in Law, The Newsroom, 80 for Brady and Book Club and its sequel — and expressed support for the opportunities given to her onscreen.

In a fiery speech, Jane Fonda accepted the SAG Life Achievement Award at the 31st annual SAG Awards Sunday, first thanking SAG-AFTRA and her fellow actors amid a standing ovation and raucous cheers and applause. “This means the world to me,” she said. “Your enthusiasm makes it seem, I don’t know, less like a late twilight of my life and more like a go-girl kickass. Which is good, because I’m not done!” the 87-year-old two-time Oscar winner exclaimed.
Fonda is the 60th person to receive the Life Achievement Award, given to an actor who fosters “the finest ideals of the acting profession” as it recognizes both career and humanitarian accomplishments.

In a barnstorming speech while accepting her Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award, Jane Fonda delivered a rallying cry for the causes that have motivated her six-decade career.
Those included workers rights, unions, fighting against inequality, and above all, care for the disenfranchised. “Make no mistake, empathy is not weak, or woke,” she said from the stage. “And by the way, woke just means that you give a damn about other people.”
The remarks were unmistakably political in tone, though Fonda never mentioned the current president by name. Intriguingly, she evoked Sebastian Stan’s Oscar nominated performance as Donald Trump in “The Apprentice” from an angle of compassion. Of Stan’s work, she said, “(He had) to understand and empathize with the traumatized person (he was) playing.”
She also mentioned Bree Daniels, the sex worker she played in 1971’s “Klute,” to address the subject of self-harm and sexual assault on young women.

Jane Fonda is urging Hollywood to confront these fraught times with empathy.
“What we, actors, create is empathy. Our job is to understand another human being so profoundly that we can touch their souls,” said Fonda, who was honored on Sunday night with SAG’s life achievement award. “And make no mistake, empathy is not weak or woke. By the way, woke just means you give a damn about other people.”
During her lively speech, Fonda made oblique references to the political environment and the Trump administration’s drive to cut federal jobs. “A whole lot of people are going to be really hurt by what is happening,” she said. “Even if they’re of a different political persuasion, we need to not judge but listen from our hearts.”
Fonda also spoke to the power of unions — like SAG-AFTRA — to protect people during unsettling moments in history. “I’m a big believer in unions.

Lisa Vanderpump left Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills at the end of season 9, and fans have been hoping for a return ever since. Will she come back?
Coming Home?
Rumors have been swirling for years that Vanderpump would become a housewife again. She left the show in 2019 after “puppygate” caused a rift between her and the other women. Even her two besties, Kyle and Dorit turned against her. Lisa continued with her spinoff series, Vanderpump Rules on Bravo but left the housewives behind.
Andy Cohen recently spoke on the subject during his Sirius Xm series Radio Andy. “It was repeated all over the place that I’m trying to get Lisa Vanderpump back on The [Real] Housewives of Beverly Hills. Now, let me restate my abject love for Lisa Vanderpump, but I don’t know where the rumor came from. And, like, I kind of don’t see her coming back to that show.

In 2020, Laura Dern celebrated with her very first Oscar win for “Marriage Story”! It was a fitting gift to the veteran actress, who has starred in dozens of quality films throughout her lengthy career. Let’s take a look back at her career by ranking her 16 greatest film performances.
Dern began her career as a teenager close to four decades ago. She seemed to initially aspire to a more normal life but her attempts to finish her college degree at the University of Southern California were continually interrupted by obtaining plum film roles. That she’d eventually settle into an acting career isn’t surprising since her father Bruce Dern is a two time Oscar nominee and her mother Diane Ladd a three time contender
Dern would go on to earn two Oscar nominations of her own for “Rambling Rose” (1991) and “Wild” (2014), plus work steadily in both film and television...

We will not spoil anything for you here, we are just rounding up the songs that are definitely on this movie’s wedding playlist and beyond.

It isn't uncommon for creatives to give themselves roles in their own projects. Quentin Tarantino has appeared in several of his directorial efforts, Donald Glover leads the ensemble on "Atlanta," and Jason Sudeikis is the leading man on "Ted Lasso." Continuing the trend, "Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan cast himself as Travis Wheatley in the hit neo-Western series, but that wasn't his original plan.
Back in 2016, Sheridan discussed his transition from acting to writing and directing in an interview with Uproxx. The creator revealed that he had no intention of casting himself in any of his projects, saying, "There are a number of people who have done that. I don't want to be one of those guys." Then "Yellowstone" season 1 arrived, and he went back on his word by debuting his character in the "Coming Home" episode. The rest is history.

When the Vietnam War ended in 1975, Hollywood didn't immediately rush out to make films about the conflict. Like everyone else, artists needed time to process what had happened over the last two decades: why did America go to war? Why did so many young men have to die? And how could we as a country move on? By the end of the 1970s, there were a slew of movies that dealt with the war both at home and abroad, with Apocalypse Now, Coming Home, and The Deer Hunter representing the artistic apex of the nascent genre. Among the Vietnam dramas that seemed to come and go during this period was Go Tell the Spartans, which had the misfortune of coming out the same year that The Deer Hunter and Coming Home swept the Oscars. Yet seen today, its pessimistic view of the American military's arrogance in the face of reality feels more relevant than ever.

After plenty of promises from the creative team to build out the world, new Five Nights at Freddy's 2 set photos have revealed a key new location to come. While plot details are still under wraps for the horror sequel, the movie is expected to continue the story of Josh Hutcherson's Mike Schmidt as he continues to unravel the terrifying past of serial killer William Afton and the titular restaurant chain. Following months of teases from Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 began filming in November 2024, with the movie set to hit theaters in December 2025.
As production continues on the highly anticipated sequel, Twitter user @DeducerFNAF has shared new images from the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 set. It was recently announced that A Complete Unknown star Timothée Chalamet will host the January 25th episode of Saturday Night Live – but he will only be the second-best Bob Dylan impressionist in Studio 8H that night.
Weirdly, Chalamet won’t just be hosting, he will also be the show’s musical guest. While Chalamet isn’t a professional musician, he did do his own singing and guitar-playing in the Dylan biopic, suggesting that he may be performing on SNL as Dylan.
He’ll probably just sing “Like a Rolling Stone” or something, but he could also honor SNL history by belting out some of Dylan’s born-again Christian tunes.
Interestingly enough, Chalamet’s booking shares a number of parallels with an episode from the show’s distant past — and hopefully this one won’t be quite so disastrous.

Imagine this: You’ve been documenting your favorite albums throughout the year and you are ready to write your Top 10 list, but then that artist who never makes bad music decides to bless us with a surprise release in the fourth quarter.
In 2022 it was Sza and Sos, and it only took a few listens of that marvelous album to rise to No. 2 on my list, necessitating a rewrite. This year it’s Kendrick Lamar and Gnx — a last-minute drop that easily made it to this year’s list, along with several other stunning projects that have been in heavy rotation in my AirPods and appeared all over my Spotify Wrapped.
1. Beyoncé, Cowboy Carter
At 27 tracks, Cowboy Carter is more than an album. It’s supreme art that also serves as a history lesson. Reclaiming a genre created by Black people, Beyoncé tackles country music in her own way, with stunning results.

Angelina Jolie is one of the most celebrated actors of her generation, and one of Hollywood's most notable humanitarians. She's done vitally important work on behalf of refugees for the United Nations, and has also taken up for women's rights in the third world. She's an extraordinary person, but it all started with acting -- and overcoming the potential stigma of being what the kids nowadays call a "nepo-baby."
Yes, Angelina Jolie is the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Her father was a pivotal actor in the New Hollywood movement of the 1960s and '70s, starring in such trailblazing films as "Midnight Cowboy," "Deliverance," and "Coming Home" (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor). Jolie got her first film role alongside her father in Hal Ashby's ill-fated comedy "Lookin' to Get Out" in 1982, but didn't return to movies until 1993 as the lead...

After premiering earlier this week on Disney+, it's clear that Skeleton Crew — the latest addition to a galaxy far, far away — has made some bold design choices to set it apart from other Star Wars properties. In keeping with the show's distinctly retro vibe, a new music video was released today featuring clips from the first two episodes of Skeleton Crew set to the synth-pop hit "Major Tom (Coming Home)" — albeit with a surprising twist.
This quintessentially '80s song, was originally released by Peter Shilling in 1983 with both English and German versions, and was based off of the character Major Tom from David Bowie's iconic 1969 banger "Space Oddity." However, Skeleton Crew took the song's multilingual roots one step further by translating it into Huttese, one of the most recognizable, fictional languages of the Star Wars universe (which we first saw on Gizmodo).

Warning! This post contains Spoilers for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 1 & 2While I absolutely love Skeleton Crew's first two episodes, there's one mistake I hope gets corrected as the Star Wars show continues. Starring Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood who helps a group of four kids who find themselves thrust from their homeworld and lost in the greater Star Wars galaxy, the trailers for the new show teased some very exciting music elements. However, I'm somewhat disappointed following the show's two-episode premiere.
In Skeleton Crew episodes 1 & 2, Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Neel (Robert Timothy Smith), Kb (Kyriana Kratter), and Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) find themselves launched into the Star Wars galaxy after exploring a buried cargo freighter on their homeworld of At Attin. As such, these kids are now lost in space trying to make it back home while evading greedy pirates seeking a lost treasure connected to their planet.

It sounds as though there'll be a thrilling A New Hope reference when Jude Law makes his debut in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The next Star Wars TV show, Skeleton Crew, promises to be something unique; it's the story of a group of kids from an (apparently) Earth-like planet who find themselves plunged into the Star Wars galaxy. It stares a group of child actors - and Jude Law as a mysterious character who's officially called Jod Na Nawood, but who seems to hide a lot of secrets.

One of the most famous women in the world, Angelina Jolie, started acting right out of high school. Despite her outward appearance, she has described herself as an awkward outsider at Beverly Hills High School, where she was teased because by her rich classmates. She lived with her mother in an apartment, and the family existed only on child support from her father actor Jon Voight, who had financial problems of his own. She later transferred to a different school and found her identity as what she describes as “a punk chick with tattoos.”
She began her career in a series of forgettable films (“Cyborg 2” anyone?) but then suddenly grabbed attention in the TV mini-series “George Wallace.” The series depicted the life of the title character, who was a controversial governor of Alabama and a presidential candidate. Taylor Sheridan has become nothing short of a TV mogul — at least within the realm of his sprawling "Yellowstone" franchise. It's not just that the saga now comprises two spin-off series in the form of prequels "1883" and "1923," (all of which Sheridan writes himself), it's that the co-creator of the mothership show seems to have an all-encompassing hold on the universe he helped construct.
Not only does he own two ranches on which "Yellowstone" and its spin-offs have shot, but he also bought all the horses that are used on the show and taught the series' actors how to ride. Having grown up around ranching and having owned a 1,200 acre ranch prior to becoming the impresario of the ever-expanding "Yellowstone" empire, Sheridan was keen to inject his show and its spin-offs with some of his real-life cowboy experience.
As if that weren't enough, there's more to Sheridan's intimate involvement with his popular Western franchise.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs might have been accused of s*x trafficking and racketeering, but once he was a model citizen. The rapper had launched his infamous Vote or Die! Campaign in 2004 to encourage the public, mainly the youth, to cast their votes.
Though the campaign quickly fizzled out with not much success, it did inspire a hilarious music video. and South Park ridiculed the bizarre attempt in an episode that featured Diddy threatening a young child with m*rder. Unfortunately, in the light of recent accusations, fans could only lament at yet another piece of foreshadowing in the show.

Unfortunately, in the light of recent accusations, fans could only lament at yet another piece of foreshadowing in the show.

Time Cut, Netflix’s newest foray into the YA slasher genre, arrives just in time to set a spooky tone for Halloween with a killer soundtrack to boot. This dark thriller stars Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia) and Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) as siblings separated by two decades due to an eerie, time-travel twist. As Lucy (Bailey) discovers a mysterious machine on the anniversary of her sister Summer’s (Gentry) death, she seizes the chance to go back in time, hoping to save Summer from the clutches of the sinister “Sweetly Slasher.” But time travel isn’t simple—Lucy must avoid disrupting the future, all while navigating a nostalgic yet dangerous past.
What sets Time Cut apart is its ability to balance suspense and humor without taking itself too seriously. With echoes of Happy Death Day and Back to the Future, the film taps into nostalgic ’80s slasher vibes while keeping a modern,...

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew kicked off the month of November with a brand new trailer! The official trailer delves into the story of the upcoming series, which is about four kids who accidentally get lost in the galaxy on a ship they find.
One of the promotional points from the start has been the show would be pulling from the films of Amblin Entertainment, something that's been a big feature up to this point. Between pirates and the young protagonists, we've seen a lot of the images and teaser trailer giving nods to films like The Goonies and this official trailer definitely had some E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial vibes going.
However, one major change this official trailer did was go in a new hype-inducing direction:
This went full Guardians of the Galaxy.
The popular Marvel Cinematic Universe film is known for its 80's vibes, jamming soundtrack, and a very specifically...

The new Star Wars: Skeleton Crew trailer makes genius use of real-world music to set the tone for the upcoming Star Wars TV show. 2024 has been a pretty rough year for the Star Wars fandom, but excitement is building for Christmas - with the upcoming release of a TV show unlike any others. Skeleton Crew will see a bunch of kids launched from an Earth-like planet into the Star Wars galaxy, where they must survive as they try to find their way home.
Lucasfilm's new Skeleton Crew trailer teases the perfect Christmas fare. It opens with a striking beat that sounds like it's drawn from the "roboticism" music style, before moving into something much more exotic. The general feel evokes the 1980s, making Skeleton Crew feel like Star Wars' attempt to pitch for the Stranger Things audience - young characters, '80s nostalgia, and the like. But the song...

With past winners including Beyoncé, Prince, and Michael Jackson, the R&b field at the Grammys has given us a great taste of some of the best music ever made. This year the field is quite competitive, so there will likely be a few surprising snubs coming due to how dense it is.
SEEGrammys rock nominations predictions: Legends The Beatles and Rolling Stones face off against younger faves
Muni Long’s “Made for Me (Live)” is the probable winner in Best R&b Performance. The track is arguably the biggest R&b hit of the year in terms of urban radio and streaming, similar to Muni’s previous Grammy winner, “Hrs and Hrs.” The original version of “Made for Me” was actually submitted last year, before it really became a hit, therefore making it ineligible this year, hence her submitting a live version. Still, all the goodwill for Long could...

As Hilary Duff once said, let's go back, back to the beginning. And in Netflix's new horror movie Time Cut, that's exactly what Lucy does. Outer Banks star Madison Bailey leads the movie as Lucy, a teenager who travels back in time from 2024 to 2003 and must save her sister from being the next victim of the Sweetly Slasher serial killer.
Being a period piece (who else shuddered at the thought of movie taking place in 2003 being a period piece?), Time Cut features a number of throwback songs from the early 2000s, including a signature and iconic cut from the aforementioned pop icon Hilary Duff. If you think these early aughts songs are "so yesterday," think again!
Whether you're a teenager like Lucy or a millennial looking for a little nostalgic blast from the past, you will be entertained by the twists and turns and chills and thrills. But you...

McO Studios is a quiet, woodsy space tucked away in the leafy neighborhood of Anzures in Mexico City. With its sky-high ceilings and the bursting trees on the patio, it’s a site that reflects the beauty of the Mexican capital, and singers Leon Bridges and Natalia Lafourcade are immediately at peace when they arrive here one bright afternoon in August.
It could be because both of them have been finding endless inspiration in Mexico City. Lafourcade was born here, and in the past several years, she’s made albums...
