baby faced Chow Yun Fat (& yes, he pees on someone)

Like the other reviewers, I rented it for Chow Yun Fat. Granted he's not the main star (in fact he doesn't show up for the first 16 minutes) but he's one of the main cast.

The edition I saw was a very poor print quality, with terrible subtitles. The plot wasn't that great, nothing we haven't seen a million times. And since it's early HK action films there's not as much fighting and shooting as we've grown accustomed to.

However, if you're a dedicated fan of the genre or Chow Yun Fat - it's worth watching. Danny Lee has a nice early role too. It's fun to watch for the late 70's era Hong Kong. The hair! The clothes! The tiny brightly color cars! Plus the final scenes where it all comes to an end are amusing and fit the tragic noble cop movie genre quite well.

And I've never laughed so hard as when I realized I was watching Chow Yun Fat PEE on someone while laughing maniacally.
          Violent Cop

Chow Yun-Fat is only in this movie for about 5 minutes.

This film is so bad it's good. I saw this at my video store and Danny Lee and Chow Yun-Fat were on the front of the box, and underneath them it said "Two men, 40,000 bullets". So I thought this was gonna be a shellfest, but boy was I wrong! I can't remember anyone even firing a gun throughout the whole thing. The movie is actually about Danny Lee and his partner chasing this Chinese guy that looks like a Mexican, not about Chow Yun-Fat, he is just an extra. This film is a classic example of false advertising, and I got played. 3/10

          BEST TO PASS IT BY

Deceitfully advertised as a sequel to the 1989 KILLER featuring the two leads of that film, Chow Yun-Fat and Danny Lee, this work was actually produced eight years earlier, with no relation to the John Woo directed piece, the deception not ending there as stills reproduced front and rear upon the video box are from other movies starring the two actors. The setting is British governed Hong Kong with the customary conflict in place between the forces of good (police) and evil (organized crime),occurring with much celerity and scant effort to show character development, marked by editing that propels the action at the expense of continuity. Such emphasis upon quick pacing might hide some flaws if they were few, but such is not the case here, and the English subtitles provide little assistance, being generally white on white while appearing fleetingly at that, at the same time grotesquely inaccurate; as example: several instances when police personnel are chasing suspects, calling for them to stop, the titles spell out a plaintive "Don't go, don't go". Unsubtle acting, preposterous dialogue, and embarrassingly inferior production values are present throughout although a decent performance is turned in by always dependable Kwan Hui-San as a police superintendent who wishes to continue an illicit relationship with a Triad while yet performing effective detective work, but scarce else is here to remember, even for fans of the popular Chow Yun-Fat.
