The final comedic performance by James Caan in "Queen Bees" reunites him with Ellen Burstyn, marking a 24-year reunion since their last appearance together in a 2000 crime drama. "Queen Bees" has gained recent popularity on Netflix, currently ranking in the top 3 movies in the United States on the streaming platform. The cast of "Queen Bees" features several other reunions, including Jane Curtin and French Stewart from "3rd Rock from the Sun" and Ann-Margret and Christopher Lloyd from "Going in Style."
The final comedic performance by legendary actor James Caan in Queen Bees quietly marked a cast reunion nearly a quarter-century after their box office flop. Caan, who sadly passed away in 2022, appeared in dozens of classic dramas and comedies ranging from The Godfather as Sonny Corleone to Elf as Walter Hobbs, Buddy's dad. The last movie in which Caan had a leading role was the 2023 action crime thriller Fast Charlie starring Pierce Brosnan,...

Steven Soderbergh rejected the chance to return to the 'Ocean's' franchise. The 61-year-old director oversaw the 2000s heist trilogy but has no plans to get involved in George Clooney's proposed sequel or the prequel movie that will star Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.Speaking to Variety, Steven said: "After we made the third movie, I felt like the series was very much concluded for me."When the studio approached me to see if I'd be involved in continuing the franchise, I told them no, because it just doesn't feel like a move forward for me."I'm chasing something else."Clooney hinted last month that another 'Ocean's' film could be in the pipeline as he is in possession of a "great script".The 62-year-old star – who led an ensemble cast that also featured Brad Pitt and Matt Damon – told Uproxx: "We have a really good script for another 'Ocean's' now,...

Like Eddie Murphy's dogged detective character Axel Foley, the concept for "Beverly Hills Cop" just wouldn't go away. A 1975 Hollywood traffic stop for then-Paramount Pictures president Michael Eisner, out of place driving a station wagon, inspired the idea for the movie. By the time "Beverly Hills Cop" was finally produced in 1984, Paramount had spent nearly a decade and two million dollars developing the film.
When production was set to begin, Paramount ran into some problems -- specifically, it didn't have a star or a director. Sylvester Stallone, initially slated to play Axel Foley, stepped away over disagreements about the tone of the film. (He later put many of his ideas for his version of "Beverly Hills Cop" into the 1986 action film "Cobra.") Producer Jerry Bruckheimer had his heart set on up-and-coming director Martin Brest, who had his own reservations. They soon found the perfect replacement for Stallone in Eddie Murphy,...

Sony Pictures Animation debuted a new photo that offers our first look at SmurfWillow, voiced by the iconic Julia Roberts. There haven't been any details about this character released quite yet, but this photo shows SmurfWillow alongside Papa Smurf, voiced by Mandy Patinkin.
This photo from People shows SmurfWillow is wearing the same type of red hat as Papa Smurf, although nothing else has been revealed about any sort of connection between these two characters. People did catch up with Julia Roberts, though, who offered a brief statement about why she wanted to join the voice cast of this animated adventure. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Alan Arkin star in a great-looking new film called Going in Style, which was directed by Zach Braff. In the film, the three actors play lifelong friends who team up to plan and pull off a bank robbery. The first trailer has been released and with a cast like this, you can expect to be entertained. The movie is pretty much a remake of the 1979 film that starred George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg.

Rising star Jacob Latimore, who will next be seen alongside Will Smith in the drama Collateral Beauty, plays a street magician whose skills are beyond comprehension in the first trailer for Sleight. This teaser shows that Jacob Latimore's character Bo can do much more than your average card tricks. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival back in January, where it was quickly picked up by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions and WWE Studios.
MTV debuted the first teaser trailer, which includes a few quotes from critics who caught the film at Sundance, some of whom state the film is a cross between Chronicle and Iron Man. Sleight, which premiered as part of the festival's Next section, is a dramatic thriller that blends science fiction and street magic in a tale set in Los Angeles. Exactly two months ago today, Sony Pictures unveiled the first trailer for their highly-anticipated animated adventure Smurfs: The Lost Village, which takes the franchise back to its roots. If that wasn't enough, we also have several new photos, featuring Gargamel, his faithful cat Azrael, and more.

Last month, the final #FastFriday post from the Fast & Furious 8 set featured a cast photo, revealing that production had wrapped on this highly-anticipated sequel. And that the first trailer would arrive sometime in December. Earlier this week, Vin Diesel shared a new photo on Facebook, announcing that the first trailer will arrive on December 11. He also subtly addressed the rumors of increasing tensions between himself and his co-star, Dwayne Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson surprised fans last month with a Facebook post where he called out some of his male co-stars, calling them "candy asses." While he wouldn't specify what co-stars were the target of his rant, several rumors surfaced that claimed the actor was referring to Vin Diesel, who has a history of keeping the cast and crew waiting for hours before he's ready to shoot, which reportedly doesn't sit well with Dwayne Johnson. It has been an intense and interesting week for the cast and crew of Fast and Furious 8. The usually positive and high-spirited Dwayne Johnson publicly announced his disgust at a few certain cast members, calling them 'Candy Asses'. And it set off a firestorm of speculation about whom he might actually be talking about. In light of that, the production team has now called an end to their 'Fast Friday' initiative, which was bringing new photos and video every Friday from the production.
It doesn't appear that the sequel has wrapped. But a lengthy message was posted on the movie's official Facebook. It was accompanied with a new photo of the entire cast, gathered together. Interesting to note, Dwayne Johnson has been moved all the way down to the end of the cast picture, and he is standing next to Scott Eastwood, whom many believed was one of the 'Candy...

If you've been following the production of Fast and Furious 8 for the past few months, you'll surely know that the end of the work week has been dubbed Fast Friday. This week's video showcases what director F. Gary Gray calls one of his favorite scenes in the movie, featuring Dwayne Johnson performing an iconic and important dance known as the Haka.

Back in June, Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren confirmed she had joined the cast of Fast and Furious 8, which came about after she commented last year that she wants to play a "mad driver" in a Fast & Furious movie. It seems that day has already come, with franchise star Vin Diesel sharing our first look at Helen Mirren on the set of Fast and Furious 8.

A few weeks ago, Fast and Furious 8 star Dwayne Johnson released a new photo from the set that reveals his character Hobbs will be spending some time in prison. It's the end of the work week. Which means another 'Fast Friday'video from the set of Fast and Furious 8. This one is particularly special, because it marks the half point in the production. Instead of showing off the past week's efforts in bringing the biggest and best sequel to the screen yet, director F. Gary Gray and star Vin Diesel share footage from the entire first leg of the shoot, promising some of this long-standing franchise's biggest and best action sequences. And yeah, there are some mighty big explosions amongst all the car wreckage. Says Gray about the shoot so far.
"Fast 8! We're here at the halfway mark. And it's going phenomenally well. I can't wait for you guys to see it. We're half way through. And we're smiling for a reason."
Vin Diesel then delivered this message to fans.

We've previously seen some of these cars in a Fast Fridays video from Iceland earlier this month, but we didn't know who any of these cars belonged to. These new photos, which were posted on the franchise's Facebook, reveal that Dom (Vin Diesel) will be driving a bullet-riddled Dodge Charger, while Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) drives a Rally Fighter, Tej (Ludacris) rolls in a tank-like vehicle known as a Ripsaw,...

Ever since production started on Fast and Furious 8, the crew has been crrying out a tradition called Fast Fridays, where various members of the team give fans a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the footage they've shot throughout the week. Today, the sequel decided to get the week off to a big start by unveiling a video that showcases a handful of the exotic and classic cars that will be used in the sequel. All of the cars seen in this video are valued at more than $17 million.
The video, which debuted on the franchise's Facebook page, features vehicle coordinator Dennis McCarthy, who gives us a glimpse at this incredible collection of cars. While we don't get to see any of these cars in action, Dennis McCarthy says in this 15-minute video that these vehicles will be used in a scene he describes as "automotive Valhalla." Perhaps we'll get a sneak peek at this scene in an upcoming Fast Fridays video. But we'll have to wait and see.
We have previously seen a number of cars in action from the Fast Fridays videos with an Iceland car chase and an epic zombie car stunt in Cleveland. Very little is known about the plot thus far, but hopefully we'll learn more as filming continues. If the brief videos that have surfaced from the set are any indication, this could very well be the biggest Fast & Furious movie yet.
The story will primarily take place in New York, with production set for the Big Apple, Atlanta and Russia. The crew has already shot in Cuba and Iceland. It is believed that the Cuba scenes will introduce fans to Dominic Torreto's Cuban family. It isn't known how long principal photography is scheduled to last on Fast & Furious 8, but we know this will be the first installment of the franchise's final trilogy. Universal has already set an April 19, 2019 release date for Fast & Furious 9, and the franchise closes out with Fast & Furious 10 on April 2, 2021.
F. Gary Gray, who directed last year's critical and commercial sensation Straight Outta Compton, is taking the helm on Furious 8, working from a script by Chris Morgan. The writer is responsible for penning every movie in the series, except for the first two, 2001's The Fast and the Furious and 2003's 2 Fast 2 Furious. Universal has already set an April 14, 2017 release date for Fast & Furious 8, and it currently has that date all to itself. But it will be hitting theaters one week after Warner Bros.' Going In Style remake and Sony's Smurfs: The Lost Village. Take a look at this new behind-the-scenes video from the Fast & Furious 8 set, and stay tuned for more on this sequel.

Last Friday, a new video surfaced from the Fast and Furious 8 set in Cleveland, which teased an epic and fiery stunt where a number of cars were dropped out of a parking garage. That video was taken from a building across the street from the action, although we don't know how this scene fits into the story. In keeping with their new #FastFridays tradition, Universal has released a new behind-the-scenes video that sheds light on this epic scene.
While it was originally believed that this was a second unit scene, this video from YouTube shows that director F. Gary Gray was on hand to oversee the action. This Fast Fridays video also features second unit stunt coordinator Andy Gill, who reveals that the production has been calling this the "zombie car" sequence. Special effects supervisor J.D. Earlier today, the latest #FastFridays video debuted from Fast and Furious 8, which showcased footage shot this week in Iceland, with star Tyrese Gibson and director F. Gary Gray. That video teased plenty of action-packed footage with snowy car chases and explosions, but it seems that the sequel is also pulling off a crazy stunt in Cleveland as well. New footage has surfaced from an unknown area of downtown Cleveland, which features a stunt that might be one of the franchise's craziest yet.
Video from the Cleveland set surfaced on Imgur last night, which was taken from a building across the street from this shoot. While nothing appears to be happening at first, the camera moves as we see a number of cars plummeting from a parking garage, before exploding on the street below. Naturally, we don't know what happened to lead up to this action-packed scene, but it certainly does...

We've previously seen stars like Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez as shooting began in Cuba, along with our first look at the new villain Cipher, played by Charlize Theron. Today we have another video, which reveals that production has shifted to Iceland, featuring a glimpse at the set with Tyrese Gibson and director F. Gary Gray.
We previously reported that the sequel's Iceland shoot will pull off the biggest explosion in the country's history. It's possible that we may have gotten an early glimpse at this record-breaking explosion in this video from Youtube. We don't know much about why this explosion happened, but several cars are seen driving away from it at top speeds. We also get glimpses at some of the production's new vehicles,...

When shooting on Fast and Furious 8 started in Cuba last month, the sequel introduced a new tradition called #FastFridays, where the production unveils a weekly behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set. We also have a new set photo courtesy of Tyrese Gibson's Instagram page.
We still don't know who Scott Eastwood is playing, but since he's seen with Dominic (Vin Diesel) and his crew, it seems that this character could be helping them with their latest mission. The video, which debuted on the Fast & Furious YouTube Channel, doesn't reveal too much. But all of...

Continuing on his directorial path, one which appears to hopping from genre to genre, Zach Braff’s latest effort comes in the form of Going in Style, a modern retelling of New Line’s 1979 heist movie of the same name.
Due to hit theaters in May, the former Scrubs star has assembled quite the cast of Hollywood A-listers for his third foray behind the lens. As today’s first image from Entertainment Weekly reveals, Braff’s Going in Style is set to feature Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin as a trio of retirees robbed of their respective pensions.
Keen to stick it to the Man, Caine, Freeman and Arkin devise a plan to steal the money lost by pulling off a daring New York heist. That’s a slightly different angle than the one found in Martin Brest’s ’79 original, where the elderly trio simply decided to add...

New Line Cinema’s habit of remaking its own titles every ten or so years, presumably to “keep them fresh,” is reaching farther back in time for Going In Style. Based on the 1979 movie by Martin Brest (Scent Of A Woman), the 2015 version is ploughing ahead with Zach Braff taking over directorial duties from the film’s writer Ted Melfi and a leading man finally locked down.
According to the latest report from Deadline, Matt Dillon is on board to play an FBI agent tasked with tracking a bunch of cantankerous pensioners whose later-in-life hobbies involve bank robbery. The original seventies outing featured George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasburg as three elderly New Yorkers who choose to stave off the boredom of old age by robbing a bank. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin, a superb line-up, play that same trio in Braff’s version. Instead of robbing...

Zach Braff might not be the first person you’d think of to be directing a remake of 1979 George Burns comedy Going In Style, but that’s exactly what’s happening. He’s now added Matt Dillon to the cast.Dillon joins Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin in the film, which has a script from Ted Melfi. The original movie starred Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg as bored Brooklyn senior citizens who hatch a plan to rob a bank. They pull off the caper wearing Groucho Marx disguises and then significantly increase their earnings with some casino luck. Their story becomes a media cause célèbre, but ill health and killjoy cops but a dampener on their adventures. In the new take, the three main men are retired types who lose their pensions when the company they’ve toiled for all their lives is sold to a foreign corporation.

Michael Caine young. Michael Caine movies: From Irwin Allen bombs to Woody Allen classic It's hard to believe that Michael Caine has been around making movies for nearly six decades. No wonder he's had time to appear – in roles big and small and tiny – in more than 120 films, ranging from unwatchable stuff like the Sylvester Stallone soccer flick Victory and Michael Ritchie's adventure flick The Island to Brian G. Hutton's X, Y and Zee, Joseph L. Mankiewicz's Sleuth (a duel of wits and acting styles with Laurence Olivier), and Alfonso Cuarón's Children of Men. (See TCM's Michael Caine movie schedule further below.) Throughout his long, long career, Caine has played heroes and villains and everything in between. Sometimes, in his worst vehicles, he has floundered along with everybody else. At other times, he was the best element in otherwise disappointing fare, e.g., Philip Kaufman's Quills.

It took Zach Braff 10 years to get back behind the camera for his directorial effort Wish I Was Here, but it sounds like he's not waiting that long to do it again. Variety has word that the "Scrubs" star who has starred in both of his own films is looking to be at the helm of Going in Style, a remake of the 1979 comedy of the same name starring George Burns. The project is set up at New Line, and Braff would replace Ted Melfi (St. Vincent) as director on the project if a deal can be solidified.
