Eiichiro Oda is undoubtedly one of the greatest storytellers in history. The legacy of One Piece is a timeless one, captivating the interest of multiple generations.

As the story heads towards the end, there are certain things I just cannot help but notice, no matter how much it pains me. Oda is getting older. I know that is not a revelation; we all get older, but to me, Oda is a master craftsman who cannot make mistakes.
After 28 years of hard work and dedication, his panel work in recent times has become hard to ignore. While One Piece remains a top-tier manga and will definitely continue to be for a long long time, there are many changes that the veteran fans might notice.

Out of all the Straw Hats, Zoro is the only member who hasn’t gotten a proper backstory in One Piece. He was the first one to join Luffy, yet all we know about him is how his dream came to be. Like most fans, I was fully prepared for a peek into his past and parentage during Wano.
However, Eiichiro Oda shifted the focus to a new mystery rather than resolving the pre-existing ones. Zoro was on the verge of death after his fight with King and a Grim Reaper appeared before his eyes. Now this Grim Reaper’s presence wasn’t explained, but we all have our own theories regarding what it was.

Since the end of the Wano arc in One Piece, the one question that has been asked by almost every fan is whether or not Kaido will make a return in the story. The main antagonist of the Wano arc, Kaido, was the strongest creature in the One Piece world, and he certainly lived up to his title. He was a menacing character who gave the Straw Hat Pirates and the Samurai of Wano a run for their money.

However, in the end, Luffy managed to defeat him and throw him into the magma chamber deep underground. Thus, his “conclusion” in the One Piece story left fans with a question about whether he is alive or not. Many One Piece fans hope for his return, as his story was not properly portrayed, considering his significance within the narrative.

Shanks may not have much time to live! That’s right. Story-wise Shanks does not really pose any significant threat of dying anytime soon. But as the clock is ticking Oda might just kill him in the upcoming month for a completely absurd reason!

And the reason for his unexpected demise would just be a trending coincidence, or is it? Will he too fall victim to a seemingly cursed age, or is there still any chance that he’d defy the odds and break through Oda’s habit? This has left many fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating to see what will happen next with Shanks in the One Piece saga.

Spoilers for chapter 1140 of One Piece by Eiichiro Oda are finally out, and they show Shamrock making an ominous announcement in Elbaph. This made fans remember the God Valley Incident, as Shamrock might have been hinting at the heinous culling game that occurred on the island.
A repetition of the incident will set Elbaph on fire and leave it devastated. The Giants would become living targets who would be hunted for sports. But the worst hit might be taken by none other than Kuma.

As a Yonko, Shanks is one of the strongest characters in One Piece, and most fans believe he does not have a Devil Fruit. As the Final Saga continues to unfold, it is becoming increasingly likely that Shanks possesses a Devil Fruit, or more specifically, that his sword does. Shanks has a power-scaling problem, and it has become more clear with the introduction of new powers in the Egghead and Elbaph Arcs. An inanimate Zoan sword would help explain his strength and give him a decent power boost in the final story arcs.
Shanks is the strongest Haki user of the current generation, but Haki alone cannot defeat god-tier opponents with powerful Devil Fruits and immense Haki. A Devil Fruit would help even the odds. If Shanks' sword has a Zoan-type Devil Fruit, his attacks would naturally do more damage, and he can take advantage of the Zoan's unique abilities.

The following contains spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1139, "Mountain-Eater," now available in English from Viz Media.
The previous chapter of One Piece was a bombshell reveal about the truth of the world and the historic enigma of the Void Century, but of course, the story of One Piece cannot linger in the distant past for too long. Even if the Harley's story of the three worlds is compelling, plenty is happening in the present day as well, so the manga smartly snaps back to today's events in Chapter 1139, "Mountain-Eater."
Already, One Piece has wowed fans with the introduction and truth of Figarland Shamrock, and Chapter 1139 mirrors that incredible reveal with the return of a seemingly minor character who is actually quite important. Scopper Gaban is back as a sentimental old man, delightfully pushing his personal arc forward as he becomes far more than a cameo in flashback sequences about the Roger Pirates.

Ever since the Elbaph arc started in One Piece, one of the biggest questions that has been bugging fans for a long time is the mysterious power that Loki holds in the form of the ultimate Devil Fruit. The revelation of this power is extremely important to his character development, and while Oda has been keeping it a mystery, he might have to reveal it sooner or later.

One of the main reasons why fans are desperate to learn about this Devil Fruit is because it became the cause of death for the King of Elbaph and the father of Loki, Harald. This Devil Fruit was passed down through the royal bloodline of Elbaph, and it was disclosed that in order to attain this power, Loki killed his own father, which in turn earned him the “accursed prince” moniker.

The swordsmen in One Piece are a completely different class of warriors who have time and time again proved their worth. From Roronoa Zoro to Dracule Mihawk, these swordsmen can vary according to the strength and power they carry within. Among these swordsmen, the one whose rank is quite high is Red-Haired Shanks, captain of the Red-Haired Pirates and one of the Emperors of the One Piece pirate world.

Although he only has one hand, he uses it to display his swordsmanship, and it is quite impressive. While Eiichiro Oda has yet to showcase Mihawk’s skills, it is safe to assume that he is on a completely different level.

In the grand tapestry of One Piece, power dynamics have always been at the forefront of several fan speculations. However, one figure stands out above them all: Imu, the mysterious emperor who sits on the Empty Throne.

Michael Shanks’ Together is a potent slice of creepy, culty body horror. It delivers what’s on the tin; what you’re sold is what you get. That’s not to say there’s a shortage of enthusiasm or conceptualization. Shanks’ feature-length directorial debut is wound tight and gets to business, spilling genre elements onto the screen posthaste. There’s a charm to the film’s unpretentious simplicity as Shanks bites directly into his story’s Lovecraft x Cronenberg meat, forgoing distractions for a fast and efficient horror scenario.

However, out of all the twists, the one that fans anticipated a long time ago was the presence of Shanks’ twin, who is now deemed Evil Shanks because of his actions. Since the Levely arc, when Shanks was seen meeting the Five Elders, One Piece fans have been speculating that the character who met the Five Elders was not actually Shanks but his twin or his clone.
They have also devised multiple theories to support their speculations, and they have come true with Evil Shanks’ revelation.

Warning: Contains spoilers for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning.Following the premiere of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning, fans are worried about the possible retirement of Shuichi Ikeda i.e. the voice of One Piece’s Shanks. Long before Shuichi Ikeda was cast as Shanks, he made a name for himself as Char Aznable in Mobile Suit Gundam, and with the popularity of Gundam and how often he’s reprised the role, it’s easily the most iconic role of Ikeda’s career.
Few voice actors are as iconic as Shuichi Ikeda, but his time as a voice actor might be ending. Char Aznable appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning compilation film as part of the reveal that it takes place in an alternate timeline where Char won the war, but rather than be voiced by Shuichi Ikeda, he’s voiced by Yuuki Shin of Tokyo Revengers fame.

One Piece has always been celebrated for its larger-than-life battles and emotional storytelling. There have been epic battles and incredible scenes depicted throughout the run of the anime series, but in 2024, the anime finds itself under fire for an unexpected reason that is- its heavy reliance on impact frames.

Netflix’s One Piece is full of moments that will hit totally differently for those who read the manga or watched the anime. Arguably the first universally praised live-action adaption of a famous anime, One Piece proved a lot of people wrong and delivered a surprisingly faithful version of the East Blue saga. While some big changes were made, One Piece’s cast and story both honored the source material.
One Piece will return for season 2, but the Netflix show has the potential to run for as many seasons as it wants to considering the sheer amount of chapters left to be covered. The One Piece manga has been around since 1997, whereas the anime premiered in 1999. In other words, a lot has changed since the first saga, with plenty of moments from One Piece season 1 having deeper meanings in hindsight.

Despite being a fan-favorite character, Oda-Sensei has kept his true intention behind the curtains, leaving the fans wondering what the Yonko is up to. Hence, a new theory has been revolving around him for quite some time, where the theorists of the Shonen series believe that Akagami has an evil twin.
However, that might not be true because Oda-Sensei has been pushing the limits of storytelling and will do something that will make even the Naruto fans praise its eternal rival.

While One Piece is known for having some of the most loveable characters with intricate plot lines, and overly positive tone to ever be witnessed in mainstream media, it also comes up with a major downside. Partly because of its beloved cast, Oda often refuses to kill off characters for good, which is perhaps one of few weaknesses it has.

On one hand, it may sound great that Oda wants everyone to live ‘happily ever after’, however, it waters down some of the epic battles and dramatic character sacrifices that were initially so well-executed. In fact, with the latest developments in chapter 1134 of the One Piece manga, fans are now afraid of the possibility of Kaido’s grand return from death!

In the long run of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, the series has filled itself with countless iconic moments, strong characters, mysteries, and fan theories. Though there are several instances of these four elements in the anime, the perfect name that showcases all four of these characteristics would be Red-Haired Shanks.

Despite appearing from the beginning of the series, the mangaka has taken his time unraveling himself, bit by bit as the story progresses. The fans only had to wait 1122 episodes to see him in action, and safe to say, every bit was worth it when he destroyed the Eustas “Captain” Kid and his crew with Divine Departure, Kamusari. However, that was only the tip of the iceberg, as a new theory emerged that clearly demonstrates how overwhelmingly powerful he can be.

The world of One Piece is filled with high-stakes battles, dynamic character arcs, and devastating moments of loss. Yet, one recurring criticism of Eiichiro Oda’s narrative style is his reluctance to definitively kill off characters, even after delivering what appear to be fatal blows. However, even more than the “no-killing” policy, the main issue with One Piece is Oda’s ambiguity regarding the ultimate fates of the characters.

Be it Big Mom, Eustass Kid, or Kaido — Oda never actually discloses the status of the characters; only the audience assumes whether they are truly dead or not. This frustration is amplified with the case of Bartholomew Kuma, whose return after his brutal beating in the Egghead Island arc has stirred debates about the impact of his character journey.

There are plenty of theories surrounding One Piece. From how the world works to whether certain characters are dead, there's plenty to speculate about. These theories only become more popular with more prominent characters. Shanks is a fan favorite character with plenty of mysteries about him. As a result, there have been theories about him since almost the beginning of the anime. One of the biggest questions people ask about Shanks is about his parents. Plenty of characters in this shonen don't have parents or a parental connection, but those that do are often important. Several theories have set out to answer this question, but nothing has been confirmed thus far.
Theories also have a tendancy to change as more information is revealed in the anime. For example, new theories link Dracule Mihawk to Imu because they have similar eyes. In Shanks' case, the most popular theory about who his...

The Egghead Arc of One Piece had so much going on in it that it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Straw Hats became an even bigger threat in the eyes of the World Government. This would imply higher bounties for all of them, with some of them valued at an enormous amount, particularly their captain, Monkey D. Luffy, and swordsman, Roronoa Zoro.
Luffy’s current known bounty is valued at 3,000,000,000 berries after his actions on Wano. If it increases further, his bounty would surpass Shanks’ 4,048,900,000 berries. How will his childhood hero and former mentor feel about this potential rivalry?

Tite Kubo’s dedication towards Bleach is evident from the story itself. However, the author has gone the extra mile for his series, which very few mangakas do. Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War is a massive success partly due to the involvement of Tite Kubo.
Kubo works as the general director and supervisor of Bleach: Tybw anime. He also supervises most of the major aspects, be it the script, storyboarding, or voice acting. Even great mangakas like Eiichiro Oda fail to achieve this level of involvement with the anime adaptations of their works.
