The original French title is slang for "balls" (the testicular variety).
In reference to the scene on the train Brigitte Fossey said, "I was supposed to breastfeed a child but I had no milk. I then smeared my breasts with honey and the baby saw nothing but fire".
In an interview, Miou-Miou said that she kept from this film "a very powerful memory, very collective, with Dewaere and Depardieu. We were sometimes asked to do things that were not hard, but a little complicated to do. By dint of pulling down my panties and pulling up my apron, I was getting a little tired of it. The three of us loved each other very much. We were like a litter of puppies."
Chantal Ladesou didn't get Marie-Ange's role in this movie because she refused to show her breasts during casting in Paris: "I was asked to take off my bra and my t-shirt," she says. The actress refused, offering to show a photo of her chest. "It is not a picture of your breasts that I want to see, it is your breasts living on camera," she was told. So Ladesou refused. "I repacked everything and I told Depardieu that," she recalls. "He said, 'You just have to show them to me now!'." If it is impossible to know how the casting would have gone if it had not turned short, the actress readily admits that she would not have "perhaps not had the role anyway".
One of the most erotic scenes of this movie takes place in an empty train. A young woman, alone in a wagon with the two heroes of the film, "has the unfortunate idea of breastfeeding her baby". A rather raw sex scene follows, where Patrick Dewaere sucks the breast of the young woman who finally takes pleasure herself. Brigitte Fossey who slipped into this role, "was not scared", but Bertrand Blier remembered a moment when the actress was a little afraid. "She felt a little dizzy when she found herself stuck between the two guys, one sucking her and the other teasing her from behind, at which point she said to me 'not that'. It was trying for her, but she certainly has good memories of it.," Blier recalled, laughing.
