Fresh off of their panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Comics has announced plenty of new titles that will keep readers busy over the next several months. Among these is a brand-new crossover event that will unite many of Marvel's street-level heroes this September. While Marvel is currently focusing on how this upcoming event may change the status quo in comics, it may also have a rippling effect in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically in projects like Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man 4.

As announced at Sdcc, Marvel Comics is adapting a "Gang Wars" storyline this Fall, which will see criminals and heroes going toe-to-toe to decide the fate of New York City. With the McU's recent resolution to include more stories dealing with street-level threats, this new comics crossover could act as a terrific jumping-off point for the film franchise. The first teaser trailer is out for a Chinese martial arts action film titled 100 Years, co-directed by the filmmakers Xu Haofeng & Xu Junfeng. This is premiering as a centerpiece selection at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival coming up this fall, its first screening outside of China after showing at the Shanghai Film Festival. Two bitter rivals (starring Jacky Heung and Andy On) duel for stewardship of a wushu academy, in this "cool and calculated" martial arts caper from Xu Haofeng. It's set in the 1920s in Northern China, pre-wwii. With martial arts choreography by Duncan Leung, and cinematography by Shao Dan. The cast also includes Bea Hayden Kuo, Tang Shiyi, and Li Yuan.
