From 1776 to 1783, John Adams left for France, where he was to represent America. His eldest son, John Quincy, aged eleven, accompanied him on the trip. At the French court, John Adams was soon disappointed.
Ambassador to Russia, John Quincy Adams lives with his wife Louise-Catherine in St. Petersburg. Later, in Ghent, he presides over the commission to end the war.
