Avengers: The Kang Dynasty's Plot Has Been Revealed; Doctor Doom Was Set To Be Mutant Saga's Big Bad
At the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, Marvel Studios announced plans for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Even before Jonathan Majors' legal issues, the studio was having its doubts about keeping Kang as the Multiverse Saga's big bad.
Why? Well, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was a critical and commercial disappointment. Reliable insiders later claimed that Marvel Studios was taken aback by the response, and it seems it shook them enough to wonder if Kang was the wrong villain to be focusing on.
Since then, a lot has changed. Charting the chaotic productions of both movies is no easy task, but The Kang Dynasty's director Destin Daniel Cretton is now helming Spider-Man 4, and neither Michael Waldron nor Jeff Loveness are attached to write either movie.
Instead, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars have both been rewritten by Stephen McFeely and will be helmed by...

As the post reads, “Movie icon Wings Hauser took flight in the arms of his film & music partner, Cali Lili Hauser at their studio this weekend.“

Companion doesn’t hit theaters until next week, but its soundtrack is coming to vinyl today — and Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive details.
Mutant, in partnership with WaterTower Music, will launch pre-orders for the Companion 2xLP album at 1pm Et.
Composed by Song Exploder podcast host/creator Hrishikesh Hirway (“Everything Sucks!”), the album is pressed on 140-gram pink marble vinyl.
The score begins by earnestly paying tribute to the plucky romance at the center. It invites you into its rose-colored world just long enough to lower your guard before deftly switching gears into the twisted genre score buried underneath.
Chaotic as that may sound, the score is continually grounded with an incredible melodic hook incorporating lead actor Sophie Thatcher‘s voice (“Iris’ Theme”) that pays homage to Rosemary’s Baby. But don’t read too much into that comparison. The twists and turns of Companion are uniquely their own, and...

We have good news for Toxie fans, as the radioactive ranger will officially return to the big screen in 2025.
Macon Blair's remake of low-budget Troma classic The Toxic Avenger, starring Peter Dinklage in the lead role, debuted its first trailer back in October of 2023 before completely dropping off the radar.
Fans have been wondering about the status of the movie ever since, and earlier this year, a report claimed that the gory splatter-fest - which has a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes - had been deemed "unreleasable" and "not safe enough to market."
Well, one distributor was willing to take a chance on Toxie, as Cinerverse and Bloody Disgusting have announced that the movie will get a theatrical release later this year.
Too gory? Unreleasable? Too outrageous for mainstream audiences?! Surprise! You asked for it, and now Cineverse will unleash Macon Blair's The Toxic Avenger remake in theaters - Unrated - this year.

Leigh Whannell‘s Wolf Man soundtrack will infect vinyl on April 25 from Mutant.
The score is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch, who previously worked with Whannell on The Invisible Man in addition to scoring such heavy hitters as It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam, and Alien: Romulus.
Priced at $30, the album is pressed on 140-gram colored vinyl exclusive to Mutant.
“Ben’s score evokes the lush classic sounds of the original 1940s movie,” Mutant previews. “It’s a beautifully light score featuring incredible orchestration, evoking the mystery within the woods. The score is scary and brutal but also delicate and human when necessary. It’s evocative and rich and helps add grounding to this very contemporary telling of this tale.”
The new take on the classic monster is in theaters now, and Wallfisch’s score is available on digital and streaming as of today.

When it comes to hopping aboard the MCU hype train, actors tend to have a few key motivators, (vaguely) that sweet paycheck, staying in the spotlight, or their kids being huge fans of the franchise, or sometimes all of the above. Take Thunderbolts* star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, for instance, she joined the Marvel universe because her kids are big fans.
A still from the new teaser of Thunderbolts* | Credits: Marvel Studios
But thanks to Marvel’s legendary ‘zip it’ policy, which has famously failed to rein in Mark Ruffalo or Tom Holland, it left her hands so tied that she couldn’t spill a word about her role, even to her own children.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus vs. the Marvel sniper, no spoilers allowed!
Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is finally stepping into the spotlight, and thus the upcoming Thunderbolts*, is shaping up to be quite a ride.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been spending the last few years of Phases 4 & 5 with one goal (besides Avengers: Secret Wars): Mutants. Ever since Disney acquired Fox, fans and creators have all been doing their best to properly introduce lore so dense it could be its own continuity. That said, it's far from easy, and this has been proven even with the X-Men films as they even struggled to maintain continuity. But as the years pass, the picture becomes clearer, and the idea that this introduction will be a slow burn is more obvious than ever.
While it would be easy to just bring in Mutants without a second thought, this is a topic that has to be tackled on two fronts. For starters,...

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Nightwatcher #1Ever since Raphael established his Nightwatcher persona in 2007's Tmnt, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has failed to do much with it, allowing Raphael's short-lived alter ego to fade into obscurity - until now. A new Nightwatcher just exploded onto the scene in a spin-off series, and this turtle sibling has already proven to be a better Nightwatcher than Raphael ever was.

And while the MCU is currently focused on the return of Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Victor Von Doom, one of Marvel’s biggest villains, Marvel’s comics are continuing on their own path as the storylines we love to follow are being continued, and these stories and characters are being evolved further, which is going to be the focus of this report as well.
The story we are going to focus on comes from the upcoming new series focused on one of the most prominent X-Men members – Rogue. Namely, Marvel is starting a new series titled Rogue: Savage Land, which will see the legendary Mutant return to Savage Land.
However, the new series – written by Tim Seeley – will explore another interesting aspect, which is a very controversial one. Namely, the series will reexamine the relationship between Rogue and Magneto, which is one of the most controversial romances...

Last month, Screen Rant had the opportunity to go hands on with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed at Gamescom, a new brawler that picks up where the 2023 film left off. In collaboration with Paramount Game Studios, the title is produced by Outright Games, a company that specializes in creating video game adaptations of famous IPs - with other upcoming releases touching on everything from Transformers to Barbie - that are accessible to all ages. Though the Gamescom session was short, lasting only about 10 minutes, it still offered some good insight into the games combat and overall structure.

There’s a severe lack of originality in Mutant. The 2024 Chinese sci-fi movie that dropped on Prime Video is a pretty terrible cocktail of every single science-fiction franchise you can imagine—from Star Wars to Terminator to Matrix. The acting is worse than you can imagine; the action is amateurish, and the less said about the writing, the better. That said, the final twist is so ludicrous that it sort of makes sense, actually. If you’re unfortunate enough to catch Mutant and not sure what happened in the end, I’m here to help. My apologies if you’ve enjoyed watching it; art is a very subjective thing after all.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens in the Movie?
It’s always a scientist who means well who accidentally ruins everything, right? When Doctor Zhurong developed this advanced AI, Simu, he never thought his creation would one day be responsible for bringing darkness into this world.

There are few characters that are as traumatized as the Wolverine in Marvel Comics. While his immortality and healing factors have brought him quite a lot of fortune, in the right hands, they can be just as dangerous to him. Over the years, fans have seen comic book writers get quite creative with how they torment the mutant.
Wolverine I Marvel Comics
However, none of his horrid storylines have been as disturbing as what happened in Wolverine Vol 2 165. Considered one of the dark directions taken by Marvel, the story is certainly extremely gruesome and difficult to read for fans of the character.

Those are the words from Blake Lively, who didn't hesitate to facetiously throw her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and his $900-million Marvel Cinematic Universe summer blockbuster under the ole bus while promoting her new film It Ends with Us.
So, are things truly heating up in the personal and professional lives of Reynolds and his wife as their two movies compete for the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend? No, not at all. This real-life duo is clearly pulling for one another, but Lively showed off her sense of humor while speaking about It Ends with Us in an interview (via Capital FM). Lively joked:

In My Hero Academia, most humans possess some type of Quirk. Pro Heroes typically use their Quirks to help others, and Villains tend to use their Quirks for nefarious purposes. Most of the Quirks featured in My Hero Academia are offensive in nature, and certain Quirks have the power to cause large-scale destruction. That being said, there are also several useful Quirks that focus on defense.
Many of the best defensive Quirks belong to Pro Heroes, but a few Villains possess defensive Quirks as well. Most of these Quirks are designed to protect the user, but some can also be used to protect others. These Quirks usually make their users resistant to damage, but other defensive Quirks put more emphasis on evasion. Most defensive Quirks also have offensive applications.

A brand-new adaptation of the beloved video game, Mutant Year Zero, is in the works by Heroic Signatures, and some A-list talent has signed on to voice its animal protagonists. While the superhero genre could be on the verge of making a comeback, video game adaptations have risen to become the new go-to following the tremendous success of HBO's The Last of Us and The Super Mario Bros. Last night's Marvel Studios Hall H presentation at Comic-Con was big, there's no denying. We got new MCU movie titles, new casting confirmations, new character reveals, and the shock announcement of Robert Downey Jr.'s imminent Marvel Cinematic Universe return as Doctor Victor Von Doom. Deadpool & Wolverine is the 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and technically the 14th film in the original 20th Century Fox X-Men timeline. The movie was positioned as Deadpool's arrival into the MCU but also as a sort of farewell to the original 20th Century Fox X-Men movies that began in 2000 with X-Men and seemed to have come to an abrupt and untimely end with New Mutants in 2020. Deadpool & Wolverine certainly had a lot of expectations to meet.

No, this meeting didn't have anything to do with Taylor Swift. Rather, the Merc with a Mouth actor met with the Grammy award-winning Madonna herself in order to procure the rights to use her 1989 song Like a Prayer in Deadpool & Wolverine. As it turns out, both Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy paid the iconic musician a visit to personally ask permission to use the classic tune in Wade Wilson and Logans big-screen MCU team-up.
Like a Prayer has already been featured prominently promoting the superhero film, particularly in the official trailer. Levy recounted his and Reynolds meeting with Madonna in an interview (per SiriusXM):
It did involve a personal visit to Madonna, and where we showed Madonna the sequence where Like a Prayer would be used and
Reynolds quickly interjected:
Also, let's preface it with the fact that they dont license that Madonna doesn't just license the song,...

Embrace your inner superhero in Stardew Valley with the Mutant Rings mod based on X-Men characters' abilities. Rings add unique combat bonuses, like healing or lifesteal, making facing dangerous enemies easier. Have fun and customize your gameplay experience with mods as developer ConcernedApe supports player creativity.
Stardew Valley may be so popular because of its idyllic world and peaceful slice-of-life gameplay, but players wanting to embrace their inner superhero whenever they embark upon a quest to the mines should check out this X-Men-themed mod. While the first few floors of the Pelican Town mines seem like a fairly straightforward exploration with various weak enemies standing in the player's way, it won't take long for those monsters to become especially dangerous. At times like this, being able to heal like Wolverine or fire lightning like Storm would be incredibly advantageous.

While the original 4 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are the most famous, they are far from the only Mutant Turtles in the franchise. From impostors, to robots, to the next generation of Tmnt, there are a number of Turtles in Tmnt canon, and all of them range in power. Some are more skilled than others, some are more intelligent, and some possess magical abilities that put them above ones that are physically stronger - but only 1 is the most powerful Turtle in Tmnt.
Every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan is well aware of the four titular Turtles, easily the greatest warriors in their established universe. But even fans may not know that theyre not the only Turtles in their universe, and perhaps not even among the most powerful.
Since they were introduced in Mirage Studios Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo never...

The forthcoming sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has just received a major update. Seth Rogen, who is a producer on the Tmnt project, recently revealed that the sequel does have a title, although he's not quite ready yet to publically reveal it.
"There is a title, and it's awesome, but I don't think I can say it," Rogen told ComicBook.com during an interview to promote Prime Video's Sausage Party: Foodtopia, the animated series continuation of his R-rated 2016 adult animated comedy, Sausage Party. "But when it came up on the screen, I stood up and cheered." Rogen also shared that there is already "an animatic -- there's a storyboarded version of the whole movie, so they're working on it right now." With production already underway on the animated sequel, it seems highly likely that the movie will have no trouble making its October 2026 release date.
