I used to love this show. Quality programming with some good stories. My favorites were the ones with Mike, and Ben passing down the paper route and another favorite was when Carol was interviewing for college and the Boston College guy comes to their house and they get those bums to play the parents.
I liked the Julie/Mike storyline.
However, I have lost a lot of respect for Kirk Cameron after finding out that he screwed the show over in many ways. In fact, i don't respect him at all (not that he cares I'm sure). He got Julie fired just cause she posed in Playboy even though that was a major storyline. They sank that story for no good reason making her disappear which was totally unrealistic. Then I guess they realized what buttholes they were and brought her back for one episode to try and reconcile the whole storyline. She shoulda told Cameron and the producers to 'stick it where the sun don't shine'. Anyway, Cameron reportedly also vetoed a lot of story ideas cause he didn't think they were 'Christian' enough for him and that led to the show demising quicker than it should have. Cameron's a religious zealot by all accounts of people who worked with him on the show, and I've lost respect for him.
