Fancy Wanders didn't seem to connect with audiences to a great extent, despite following the popular
Play Your Cards Right (1980) in the schedules. Only the first episode made the National Top 20, reaching 17th place with 12.85 million viewers.
The final episode was sixth in the Wales/West region, but, like Episodes 2-6, failed to reach the National Top 20.
