Just like Personal Services (1987), the previous movie from writer David Leland, this project was inspired by the real-life figure, Cynthia Payne. This movie focuses on her childhood growing up in Sussex while the other deals with her adulthood.
Emily Lloyd was 16 years old when she appeared in this movie. She recalls they gave her a synopsis for the audition: "sexually precocious". "So my mother put me in a black leather skirt and a tight blue crocheted top. The casting director took one glance at me and said: 'You look like jailbait. Go home and get changed.' Then she said: 'But come back.' I blushed and returned in jeans." she says.
One of two produced movie screenplays written by screenwriter David Leland that were first released in the year of 1987 the other being Personal Services (1987). Both pictures are loosely based on the life of and stories told by Cynthia Payne.
