    A Slapstick Comedy That Works

This is a fun film, I laughed more than a few times. Maggie Cheung plays a furrier who gets involved with Jacky Cheung, who is a movie producer. It turns out their respective moms (Teng Pi-yun and Lydia Shum) were rivals for Jacky's dad who chose Lydia over Teng. Now, Maggie and Jacky, unknown to them that their mothers intensely dislike each other and would never approve of their relationship, try to not make the fact known once they realize. The film is a series of gags, mistaken identities and the like, but I found it entertaining. Maggie looks amazing, and she and Jacky make a very appealing couple. Lydia and Teng are fun as the moms, with Bill Tung as Jacky's dad and former love interest of Teng in the middle. Nothing profound, it was just fun to watch. That is a ringing endorsement for any film.

    A family fest comedy!

This is nice comedy film from Hong Kong starring Jacky Cheung as movie producer Guan Dianxi, who dates furrier Betty (Maggie Cheung). Unbeknownst to them, their mothers (Lydia Sum and Pik-Wan Tang) were rivals and both dated Dianxi's father Dut-Hung (Bill Tung) back in the day. As a result, their mothers will not approve of Dianxi and Betty getting together. So, what results is a funny campaign to get the two mothers to make amends.

The film has a series of slapstick comedy, gags, Hong Kong humor and drama - all making it into an entertaining movie. The plot is fast-paced from start to finish, which is helped by the decent acting and hilarious cast of characters.

Jacky Cheung and Maggie Cheung make a nice couple and had great chemistry together, as did Bill Tung and Lydia Sum in their usual movie "husband and wife" roles. Sum and Tang as rivals was very entertaining to watch, surely shored up lots of laughs.

Fun stuff here - a nice family fest comedy!
