Earlier Winstone pic, indeed worth a view

Also known as Beyond Soho, we see a much thinner Winstone, a reporter, who was burned for his troubles, while slandering a particular corrupt congressman, involving some pretty sick exploits involving sex acts and flicks involving teen pornography. For those who don't know. Soho is the big sex nightlife spot of London, where a young 12 girl has gone missing. His old flame implores Winstone to get back on the case, where this time he may not be so lucky, while getting his throat slashed in the joint. We deal with some pretty unscrupulous and immoral (high ranking) sorts, and this film has some nasty tones, but nevertheless this is what draws rapt interest. Can big bad Ray outwit this time. You may be turned off by that song "A stranger in Paradise", when played a whore slashing scene here. It's good to see Ray's mate Jamie Forehead teaming up with him to assail this building where these figure of notoriety resides, a funny "Good news, bad news joke" shared by them. This film painfully shows you too, some powerful and sickeningly immoral sorts, can't be vanquished. Nice solid formed drama, an advantage too if you're a Winstone fan, where know one can powerfully deliver expletives like Ray.

    Beyond Soho/Tank Malling

I have seen both these version of this Films, Beyond Soho is a much better cut, a few minutes shorter ,which makes it more dynamic,it moves much better. This film was shot in 1988.Early days for the actors, who have gone on to more fame, with the more work you get,the better you get. Ray Winstone has gone on to be a household name, but in this film you can see what he eventually achieved, think of a boxer having his first fight, and 20 fights later he is a world champion,so watching these you see a major star emerging,Glen Murphy, became the major actor in The TV series Londons Burning, Amanda Donohoe ,i could go on and on so many good actors. And remember this was a real independent film produced by Glen Murphy and Jamie Forman.I understand, this film is soon to be released on DVD.I have watched it recently on Sky TV.and cannot wait to get the DVD
