Following last year's successful team-up of Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, we'd love to see the tradition continue on with Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. They tick all of the above boxes and — bonus points — are currently headlining the sitcom Poppa's House on CBS, the same network that's broadcasting this year's Emmy Awards. That gives them an inside advantage, as the host almost always has a working relationship with the home network.

Jamie Foxx and his production company, Foxxhole Productions, have struck a multiyear first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios.

As part of this partnership, Foxx will serve as an executive producer and content originator for scripted projects across comedy, drama and animation. When it comes to unscripted projects, Fox Entertainment Studios will also have exclusive rights to Foxx’s projects and producing services. Foxx and his team will start developing projects for the studio immediately.

“Black Jeopardy,” one of Kenan Thompson’s most popular recurring “Saturday Night Live” sketches, came back to 30 Rock during the show’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday. As usual, Thompson played host Darnell Hayes aka Alex Treblack, with contestants being played by former cast members Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan and, most notably, Eddie Murphy.

The biggest laughs were earned by Murphy, who did an impression of Morgan, while Morgan played a man named Darius and Jones played a woman named Shanice.

“Welcome to ‘Black Jeopardy,’ the only ‘Jeopardy’ where every single viewer fully understood Kendrick’s halftime performance,” Thompson said, opening the sketch with a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl appearance.

The NAACP said Thursday that the Wayans family — Keenen Ivory Wayans, Damon Wayans Sr., Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Kim Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. — will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.

The honor will be bestowed February 22 at the 56th NAACP Image Awards, which will air live on BET and CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

“For decades, the Wayans family has been at the forefront of comedy, breaking barriers and opening doors for waves of entertainers,” NAACP president and CEO Derrick Johnson said. “Their trailblazing work in television, film, and stand-up has transcended pop culture and cemented their legacy in the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. From his early days as part of the comedic ensemble of Fox’s In Living Color to his more recent health challenges, Jamie Foxx has been known to defy expectations. Damon Wayans is opening up about his reason for “purposefully” getting himself fired from Saturday Night Live following his short run on the NBC show in the ’80s.

The actor and comedian appeared on the Peacock docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, where he looked back at his time on the sketch comedy series as well as his departure. He was a castmember on SNL during season 11 in 1985.

Wayans said he had already been working on characters ahead of his audition, as he felt he was “born to be on Saturday Night Live.” He also recalled getting some advice from Eddie Murphy (who was also on SNL in the early ’80s) while appearing in Beverly Hills Cop in 1984.

Back in the early 1980s, Eddie Murphy straight up saved Saturday Night Live from extinction, but when Damon Wayans Sr. joined the show in 1985, Murphy tried to save him the trouble.

Though Murphy’s four seasons on SNL simultaneously skyrocketed him to superstardom and saved the show from fizzling out in its post-Belushi, post-Radner era, Murphy’s relationship with the comedy institution that owes him its very existence was rocky both during and after his time in the cast. Despite being SNL’s absolute messiah, Murphy had struggles with the nearly all-white SNL writing staff during his meteoric rise, and when a future In Living Color star arrived at 30 Rockefeller Plaza shortly after Murphy left, Murphy advised Wayans to watch his back.

It’s time to take NBC‘s comedic sitcom St. Denis Medical off life support because the show is getting a Season 2 renewal! Fans of the series created by Superstore and American Auto’s Eric Ledgin and Justin Spitzer have been stuck in the waiting room while hoping for more episodes of the laugh-out-loud comedy, and today, news outlets are ready to give them the good news!

St. Denis Medical takes place in an underfunded, understaffed Pregon hospital for a mockumentary-style sitcom. The show places audiences in the scrubs of determined doctors and nurses who work tirelessly to treat patients while holding tightly to their tolerance and humanity. Anyone who’s ever worked in the medical field or experienced an extended hospital stay knows how stressful a hospital environment can be, and the staff of St. Denis Medical do their best to keep the unpredictable environment safe, light-hearted, and functioning.

As seasonal depression and the constant stream of horrible news loom over the world, NBC has an answer to people's woes. The channel's new comedy St. Denis Medical currently has an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and promises fun, laughter and heartwarming moments. The series follows a group of doctors, nurses, and administrators at an Oregon hospital as they try to help the high-maintenance patients that come in each day.

St. Denis Medical was created by some of the minds behind Superstore and The Office, and the show has a lot of other strong comedic talents behind it as well. The first two episodes aired November 12, and new episodes will premiere each week on Tuesday and streaming on Peacock the next day.

The early aughts might have been apex creepy at SNL. Shows featured teenage guests from Lindsay Lohan to Britney Spears to Sarah Michelle Gellar getting hit on by older male cast members under the guise of comedy, while Horatio Sanz was allegedly doing the same thing to fans.

The Olsen Twins episode in 2004 was no exception. Their opening monologue, understandably scrubbed from the Peacock version, features the 17-year-olds complaining about missing prom.
